The first time I saw the "Arwen's Vision" sequence, I got this weird idea that somehow she would die giving birth to Eldarion. I don't have the faintest idea why, but maybe the fact that it was 3 AM had something to do with it. Did anyone else get this idea?
(now keep in mind, I had read the books prior to seeing the movies but I hadn't known about A/A's story in the Appendices and so hadn't known about Eldarion or their daughters)

No. I definitely did not get that idea--but then, I had read The Tale of Aragorn and Arwen in the Appendices before I saw the movie.

Just wondered. Well, like I said this was REALLY late at night, and I tend to get overemotional at night...so yeah.

Well --- with no LOTR knowledge, I can see how you got that impression but alas, fortunately she does not die in labor. Elrond would probably murder Aragorn then.
Arwen actually out-lives Aragorn and dies contently at Cerin Amroth (in Lothlorien).

Wow, most likely. My favorite part was... *thinks**thinks**thinks-thinks-thinks-thinks-thinks* oops... Umm, I like all of it, I guess...

Your favorite part? Off-topic? Wrong topic?

No, I didn't get the impression Arwen would die when giving birth, but perhaps you got the feling because Elrond says: "I saw into your future and I saw only death."
Actually, I was slightly annoyed with the scene - for unknown reasons. Perhaps because Eldarion didn't look the way I pictured him... or actually I hadn't pictured him at all, but what I didn't picture, was definately not the way he looked there... err..
I like the scene better now... it is sort of needed to explain why Arwen stays in Middle-earth... so for the sake of the movie plot...

Well "contently" is not the right word I think. She was pretty sad at his parting not desperate but sorrowful. At least that's how I would describe it.

Well, she passed following Aragorn, I think she was at least happy with how things were in Middle Earth.

Oh, you're right, that might have been why. Good observation. Maybe it was the whole mood of the scene too.
Really? I thought Eldarion was adorable! I wanted to hug him! (My friend who saw it with me called him a "pretty kid"... )

I thought he was adorable also! Now that I think about it, the whole scene sounds pretty cheesy, but when I first saw it, it felt totally right. The day after I saw it, I was acting it out for all my friends who couldn't see it the day it came out.

Funny! I guess since I had read the books and had already been a Lord of the Rings fan before the movies, the thought never once occurred to me.
Interesting though...makes you think what might have happened.

I never thought that. I watched the movies first.
