I mean sure, Grima stabbed Saruman whom they wanted to keep alive, but wasn't it a little unfair of Legolas to to shoot him? Afterall, if it was one of the heroes who'd have killed Saruman I'm sure Legolas wouldn't kill any of them, but Grima didn't show any means of harming them.

Well, in the books, Legolas didn't really kill Grima. In the books, a random hobbit does with arrow at the Scouring of the Shire. But since they left that out in the movie, they decided it would be best to kill of grima then, so Legolas was the next best option :-D

I suppose that was a good option to take up...but I have to agree with Haellinion. It was something I noticed from the first time I watched ROTK. It just didn't make any sense as to why Legolas would just up and shoot Grima like that...I mean, maybe it was because he wanted to stop him from stabbing Saruman any more than he already had, but other than that...>shakes head< I just don't know.

I believe it was also a reflex. I mean, Legolas was originally pointing his arrow at Saruman no? But Gandalf said no but Leggie still didn't put his arrow back in his quiver. Then Wormtongue suddenly attacks, and Legolas shoots. It's like if someone suddenly started chasing you, you'd try to run regardless of who it was.

Mmm it's not about IQ. This is why the thread was asked. It was an honest question. Mods are like the members only we have to enforce the rules.

But anything can be assumed from the scene. :bye2:

I thought it was sad actually. I think when he first saw Saruman's army he was sorry he had allied with him. He sort of redeemed himself at the end..and then Legolas went and bloody shot him!? Why couldn't Wormtongue have fell with Saruman?

I think it's because of PJ's intent on Saruman falling and landing on the spike --- initially being killed on the machinary he created.

I never thought about it that way. I was really mad though, that they chose to kill him that way, instead of having The Scouring of the Shire. :disgust: Humph.....

I miss the Scouring of the Shire, yes, but I could understand why they decided to cut it.
