On a slightly related note to this topic...

Is it just me or does anyone else think the scene between Gandalf and the Witch King wasn't so true to the book? I know it didn't have to be, but they had Gandalf's staff break and he was basically at the Witch King's mercy in the film, but in the book I don't recall reading his staff broke and it describes him as being bold and without fear when encountering the Witch King.

Personally I'd like to see the actor talk to himself more.

The whole scene where Gothmog and Wiki were talking was priceless.

the Witch King was like my favorite villian and it really annoys me to see him lose in mere seconds without doing SOME form of damage to his opponent *ducks numerous tomatoes thrown from Eowyn fans* Eowyn should have come close to dying at least *ducks more tomatoes*

Well...she...was close to dying. Her left hand/forearm was immobile. Her opponent has 4-5 feet in height on her and she's probably still in shock to see her first ferocious opponent. Really if it wasn't for Merry, she'd been toast...

Hmm...just reading over that. Personally, I thought it was very cool. I mean, it made sense that the encounter was very foreboding since Gandalf spoke so cautiously, and even slightly respectfully, about the Witch King to Pippin in Minas Tirith. Perhaps to prove that the Nazguls weren't just lackeys for Sauron, but to a threat to man's only aiding Maia. I don't know about the whole Wiki breaking Gandalf's staff thing but...

Admit it.

The flaming sword?

Awesome as woah.

Yeah it's in EE -- in the Regular they don't have Gandalf ever facing Witch King but in the EE, on the ride to save Faramir from Denethor, they encountered the Witch King.

I really thought the fight could have been longer, but it's fine the way it is!
