Why does Pipin always seem sad and stuff around Gandalf??
I mean, in the scence when saruman dies, pipin picks up the palantir and gives it to gandalf, and he seems afraid or somthing......and in some other scene when he's dancing and signing he stops when he sees gandalf.....what's up with him?

I believe that Pippin was caught by the palantir since he took it and saw into it. And I think that Gandalf knew something was wrong and so Pippin stopped dancing to stare at him.

I'm trying to remember exactly what I heard on the commentary from this part of the movie. I think it's that Pippin isn't really afraid of Gandalf, he just knows that he wants to have another look at the palatir and he knows that Gandalf probably has a hunch he will try to look at it again. It's a pretty good theroy I think and when you look at the scenes again you can see it, at least I can.

Yeah, I think that's something to do with old Gandalf sleeping with his eyes open to try to keep Pip away.

I think Pippin stills remember that he got them all in trouble at Moria,so that's why i think that Pippin is still feeling guilty about that and he's not afraid of Gandalf.
