Tar smiled wanly. "I appreciate it, Kit. But I think that's the problem. I have too much trivia in my head. It leaves no room for problem solving skills. Maybe that's why I'm so bad at Calculus."
"And perfume, yes, that's a possibility, but how are we going to know who was wearing it?"

Nienna listened to all this curiously. "I never wear perfume." She piped up, "I think it's just plain disgusting, No offence ladies." Nienna smiled at the other girls, hoping that they believed her.

"Aye, I agree with Saffron about the possibility of it being perfume," Mrs. Haldir. "It is too cold for gardening and the wrong time of year. The killer could have been watching some kind of floral spray. I myself hardly ever wear the stuff, I am not fond of it."

"I happen to be a Twlighter... though not avid, and my fascination for Pirates is immense, but those are coincidences are they not. As for the mysterious flower smell, maybe someone had been outside in the gardens and came back attracting the scent with them... also Pushing up Daises comes to mind... death... daises... from the carpet... but that makes no sense" Jocelyn sat down on the floor, crossing her legs indian style and staring at the spot where the fallen books were as if a clue would miraculously pop up.

"But Lady Death carefully pointed out that the smell came from the carpet," Taur said. "That doesn't make sense with perfume." She thought for a moment. "You know, it reminds me of that commercial for Febreeze, where everyone looks for an excuse to smell the carpet. I don't really think that connects to the murder, though."

"Exactly," Lady Death agreed with Taur. She floated over to Saffron and gave her a ghost-hug because she didn't know what else to do. "I'm so glad everyone's getting a kick out of this ironic situation."

Kit suddenly erupted in laughter at the mention of Febreeze. "That is an <i>awesome</i> commercial."

"How ironic indeed, also I was just reading about some lady in Manchester who has made a carpet of flowers... but once again that is far-fetched" Joccie nodded and eyed the carpet some more before getting frustrated... "None of this makes sense"

[ From what I can gather, Lady death was killed by Twilight books...? ]
TT stared in disbelief at the two ghost before her. That was a something you didn't see every day!
"Frebreeze?" She laughed.

"I don't think we have that from where I come from" said The Horseman.

"Well perhaps I have heard of it, but I don't think it is common" he replied.
"Ah, well that would be telling" he said with an internal wink.

"Febreeze. Why didn't I think of that?! That directly falls within my scope of knowledge." Tar said. "I think that all this detective work is sucking the pop culture right out of my head. Quick! Someone ask me something pop culturey!"

[yay me, I just read 15 backpages! *pats self on back*]
"Hi everyone," called Aria, as she cheerfully entered the room. "Um... why is there a heap of <i>Twilights</i> on the floor?" She puzzled this oddity, while her gaze drifted upward and -- <i>"What?! Lady Death is a ghost!!"</i>
Well that was just brilliant Captain Obvious, she thought to herself.
"I mean... my condolences dear," she said in a rushed breath. "Another murder though... this is dreadful." Her face paled, and she quietly looked at the Twilight books, putting two and two together.

Mrs. Haldir also laughed at the comment about the Frebreeze. Her husband however, was not laughing. He did not even crack a smile. "I am lost on that one, unless someone had recently used Frebreeze on the carpet." Haldir sniffed the air. He smelt the floral scent in the air alright but he could not pick anything else up. "A cunning one this murderer is," he said. He wasn't going to let his wife out of his site anymore.
