"We won't harm you, Kit," Lady Death promised. "You've been a considerably kind and overall lovely hostess. I'd never be so ungrateful as to haunt you for the rest of your life."

PD came into the room, happily. She had finally finished the novel she had been reading, spending most of her time in the room she had been staying in. She gasped when she saw several ghosts in the room with the rest of the people. "aw, no," she sighed, her shoulders slumping, "who died now?!"

"Hi PD!" Taur said. "Our current death toll is 5, I believe." She ticked them off on her fingers. "Saffron Orange drowned, Lady Death and her husband Lord Death were crushed by Twilight books, and now Elegost and Turwaithion were poisoned by fruit pie... But we're really having a delightful time!" she added, attempting a smile. "Except for, you know, the whole dying one by one thing."

"What the heck?!" PD was shocked and horrified, too much so so that she couldn't even say hi back to Taur. "I only counted 3 people being dead! I didn't know about Tur and Elegost too!" she looked over at them. "what a horrible way to die," she murmured to herself, happy that she hadn't sampled much of the food. She tried to brighten and turned back to Taur, chuckling softly to herself. "yes, of course," she said.

"What? Tur too? Alright, who had it out for the guys?" Nurr started to get a bit frantic as the other protector joined Ellie. "I think someone is really going for irony. Saffron, with a cat, drowned, Lady Death killed by a book full of immortals, and these two poisoned - you can't shoot a pie," she mused to herself. "This is getting quite serious." Yet again, Clue references sprang into her mind.

"My <i>pies</i>!" said Aria in furious outrage. "Who would <i>dare</i> to put nasty, disgusting, life-sucking poison in my gorgeous pies!!! Someone is going to <i>pay!</i>"
Drawing her breath in quickly, she turned to the two ghosts sorrowfully. "I'm so sorry, really. This is most... horrible. I don't understand... those pies never left my sight! And how could they have slipped poison into your pieces with your realizing it?"
She sighed dramatically, shaking her head. "Are we up to four ghosts now? This is <i>absurd.</i>"

Taur tried to work out the clues. "These weren't very helpful deaths for us. We only found out from Elegost that the attacker was female, which was probable, especially now that nearly all of the guys have been killed in one blow. And who could the pies possibly point to?" She sighed. "Hopefully Tur will have seen something before he died that he can tell us when his ghost shows up." She began scanning the walls, willing Tur's ghost to appear out of them.

"This is just so sad," Fragile said softly. "It doesn't seem fair. The two who worked to protect us have been snatched away, like a candle's flame stolen by a breath of wind..."
The elf leaned against one of the walls, wondering when the ghost of Tur would appear. She was still too much in shock to work through the clues.

"It's quite late," Kit announced and offered apologetic looks. "We'd better be in bed or else more of us are knocked off." She called for Yusef who came and upon the sight before him, slumped in light exasperation. Kit only needed to nod and Yusef was working on taking Elegost's body upon his shoulders and headed down to the morgue.
"Off to bed now, friends." Kit said, and headed off down the hallway.

Tar poked her head out from her room briefly, seeing the ghosts of Tur and Elegost floating by, as everyone else headed to bed.
"...Phh, to think we wasted a guess on the very next victim." She muttered to herself, closing her door again. "I hope he wasn't eating the APPLE pie."

Mrs. Haldir placed a comforting hand on Aria's shoulder. "Poor Aria," she said. "She worked hard on making such lovely pies."

Kit arrived in the ballroom to post up the winner to the apple guessing.
The winner was Bubbles the 5th, who had guessed 35, while the true number was 34.
<center>[s]Tribal Council:[/s] Guessing Time
It's time for the 2nd guess on who the killer may be. Feel free to discuss in the headquarters thread. Final accusation (from the spokesperson) must be made in the Mansion thread.
The Official Guess will be made around 10 pm GMT (subject to change) on October 25, 2008.
Bubbles the 5th may not be accused this round due to her exemption from the apple-count guessing game.
Good luck!

[this is just me catching up with The Horseman, I have neglected him for too long. It bears no importance whatsoever to the Hallowfest in as much as there is nothing mentioning any previous deaths or discussions]
It was early morning when The Horseman surfaced and supporting himself on the banisters, came downstairs. He was wearing his best slippers and a nightshirt.
"Oh" he groaned as he carefully walked down each stair. "What a couple of days I have had" he exclaimed in dismay, to a seemingly empty house. "It must have been something I ate to have caused such a reaction. I haven't felt so ill in a long time". "And did anyone ask if I was alright?" No, they didn't. Too interested in those who have already shuffled off this mortal coil, as Shakespeare would say. Comings and goings and talking all night about new murders. Well they are well out of it, says I! They didn't have their head over a bucket every four hours did they? Oh, no! One brief knock or drown or eat and SNAP, all their troubles over. Oh" he said as he held his stomach. "And as for you" he added and stomped over to the cloakroom.
Pulling open the door to Eliza's stable he said "You didn't eve--" and he stopped when he saw the cloakroom was filled with carrots, hay, sugar lumps, oats, daisies and even polo mints. Everything a horse could possibly want. "What's this" he asked pointing at all the goodies and looking at a somewhat shamefaced Eliza. "Where did all this come from?" and then he noticed on a shelf a bright red card full of hearts and also rather crinkled and muddy. Taking it down he read the contents.
Carrots are red (sort of), polos are blue (blue-ish) Sugar is deliciously sweet and so are you
From You-Know-Who [or in case you don't know - Ned the carriage horse
The Horsman was not quite sure what to say at this point. He wavered from wondering how on earth a horse had infiltrated this house and had actually written anything ("now then Algernon, you have no head so anything is possible") and what Eliza could possibly see in any animal that was so obviously poor at concocting any form of sonnet or poem and was obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed. Somewhat bewieldered, he turned to Eliza with a his best glare, which even without a head, Eliza knew exactly what he was doing. She gave her best friendly neigh and tossed her mane in the hope she would be spared any form of questioning.
"Now then my girl" said The Horseman. "What have you been up to, the days I have been absent. Hmm?" he asked. "And there is no point you fluttering your eyes at me either, I can read you like a book" he added. With a series of neighs, interspersed with "Hmmm's... aaah's...well's and the ocassional I see's" Eliza told her story of meeting Ned and how he had been showering her with gifts.
"If you ask me" said The Horseman - (ignoring Eliza's neigh which indicated her reply of "I'm not") - "this fellow is trying to take advantage of your good name and breeding. "Elizabeth Gwendolyn Cartwight Spencer Katharine Moncreiff is not the type of horse fit for an animal like Ned. Just think of your great-grandmother who won the Grand National". Eliza neighed. "So what if it wasn't THE Grand National and just the one for retired children's ponies, the point is" he continued and drew himself up to his full height. "You have aristocratic blood, and your family has served people of stature for years and years and not one of them ran of with the first horse who made eyes at them and sent" he glanced around the cloakroom "inexpensive and piffling gifts".
He sniffed and turned to leave but on noticing Eliza was looking rather said and dejected he went over to her and patted her on the neck but she moved away. Trying again, he went over and said "Look what I've got for you". And in his nightshirt pocket he pulled out a ginger biscuit. "I found some in my room today, and even though I haven't eaten anything for hours and hours I thought "my Eliza loves ginger biscuits, I'll take it to her because they are her favourite". And he held the biscuit out at her nose and let her sniff it before she gently took it from his hand and munched it appreciatively. "Friends again?" he asked. She nodded. Stroking her mane, he whispered into her ear "there is more to love than just simply giving something that meant nothing in the first place. Love is when you give something up for someone that you yourself truly wanted". Coughing he said "I shall visit again later Eliza" and he left.

Jocelyn must have had too much cider the night before because when she next awakened the house was in cahoots about the recent death toll. Five people have died down and the murderer has been narrowed down to the women of the house, Tur and Elegost offed from a fruity pie.
"At least no one ate the Pecan Pie..." She murmered as she moved around the house wondering what clues there were now and how it related to the previous deaths
