Galatea hurried forward to scoop up some candy, feeling only mildly guilty for letting others do all the work in cracking the pinata. "A rope? Strange." She paused in the act of putting a peanut butter cup into her mouth, remembering the pie.

Fluffy shuffled over to Eä. "Weird thingies those pinatas, don't you think?" At that moment the pinata burst open and the candy was scattered everywhere. Fluffy started to collect all kind of candy bars until she heard Kit exclaim something about a rope.
"What..?" she gasped. "Would that be a sign?"

Fragile clutched her chocolate tight, as though it was somehow comforting. "I agree with the Horseman. Perhaps keeping our hands at the level of our eyes would indeed be wisest. This just serves as a reminder that the killer is still out there... and she's still able to get around and do things unnoticed."

Galatea hesitated at Kit's words, then shrugged and popped some candy into her mouth. If it was poisoned, at least she would have a happy, chocolate-and-peanut butter-filled last moment.

Eä hardly heard Fluffy's last word because Nurr had done her magic. She had had a suspicion about the candy heaven that opened up right before her as she thought she read "treats" in her fellow guests' sparkling eyes. As it turned out the pinata breaking wasn't too different from a custom of Eä's own home. As a kid she had hit a decorated barrel filled with candy as part of the carneval festivities. She rembered having been told how the barrel originally had contained a live cat and that people would hit it and afterwards kil it since black cats were believed the minion of the devil.
She shuddered at the thought and turned her attention to the present.
"I knew about the candy, but I have never seen a piece of rope coming out of the barrel where I come from. What do you do with it?" She asked aloud.
[Thanks gracious people for providing me with amazing YouTube in abundance. So with the apple-bobbing you basically have to 'suck' the apple OR try to nail it at the bottom of the bucket in order to succed? You know what we do when we really take advantage of kids' urge for sweets? We make them do the apple-bobbing thing and then have them search for hidden candy - in a pile of flour... and they are only allowed to use their head! Muahahahaha]

Kit gave Ea a wry look, "You don't --do-- anything with it! It's not supposed to be there!" Kit tossed the lasso aside, afraid to be holding it anymore.

[depends how deep the bowl with the apples is. We use our wash bowl that we put dishes in so it's not so deep, but even for someone as terrified as water as me, pushing my entire head in the water, so I can press the apple against the bottom and catch it in my teeth - it's a big deal for me, but then again I have my honour to uphold as I always get the apple first]
Eyeing all the goodies that came out of the pinata, The Horseman pounced on a krispy kreme. "Ah, I have always wanted to try one of those" he said with a contented sigh.

Kit stared at the Horseman, curious as to how Algernon would actually finally "have" one of them.

TT watched everyone dive for the candy and food coming out of the pinata. She decided it would be safer not to eat any though. "Hold on..." she was confused. "There was a rope in our pinata?" She shrugged the thought off. "Oh, Ea, is the Horseman even able to wear a tie?" She grinned.

"A rope in the pinata?" Mrs. Haldir said with a raised eyebrow. "That cannot be a good thing I think." With that, she became a tad suspicious about the candy. The rope couldn't be a good sign and MH decided to aviod the sweets.

"Well you can play it many ways... sometimes we took turns and whoever got the most in 30 seconds won, other times it was all at once bobbing for apples..." She shrugged remembering all the halloweens that she had played different versions of bobbing for apples, or the apple passing from neck to neck.
