Woah children.
Let's drop it and move on. Remember to keep the rules in mind before you post and that other people have different opinions and don't think like you do.

I appologize for the contraversy, as I said it was not my intention to start anything.
MontanaBohemian, I also appologize for the assumption but I thought I had heard youmention something about it before. I guess I got you mixed up with someone else.
Life's been rather wretched lately, so I'm kind of on edge...again, sorry.

*walks in after far too long*
Wow. From an interesting discussion of observatories and disappointments about the once-named now a dwarf plant Pluto (my father was always an amateur astronomer, so I grew up knowing that since Pluto was labeled a planet it'd been constantly debated, knowing why, and assuming that sooner or later he'd be dethroned)...
to a heated debate...
How about Valentine's Day?
Did anyone have a special one, or at least a good normal Saturday if you didn't have a valentine?

Teh Iveh! I have been doing a very poor job of keeping in touch with you on Facebook.
My Saturday was pretty nice. My brothers were away all weekend at a church thing and my parents went out for a movie and dinner, so I had the house to myself all evening. I made myself some fried rice (overcooked slightly, but still yum) and a delicious dessert, then sat around in my PJs and did basically nothing productive. My mom felt guilty leaving me, but I was actually quite glad for the rare alone time.
How about you, Ivy? Did you and the hubby do much special for Valentines/birthday?

What is it with you Americans and your relationship with Pluto? I heard an American say that downgrading Pluto from a planet cut deeper into your planetarian soul than for other people, most likely because of Disney's Pluto. Do you agree?
Valentine's Day isn't big here and besides I was in Istanbul all of last week. It seemed bigger there though. Actually, I spent the evening at the hotel because I was so tired and had been car sick earlier.
Wohoooo, Ivy's back, I thought I should never see you again... now you're married and everything. Am I completely off if I remember you saying you were pregnant?

Yes, I'm glad I found time to get on a bit.
Valentine's/birthday was simple, but nice because I didn't have to do *anything* I didn't want. No chores or anything. My husband made breakfast from scratch, did *all* the housework, we hung out a bit, went out in the afternoon, and then he cooked dinner for me...Chicken Masala with Chickpea curry. Yum!
Yes, I am pregnant, you remember that. I'm due in about 3 weeks, but you know how things go--it could be shorter, it could be longer. My Dr. will induce after 4 weeks from tomorrow.
I've got the room painted, and am busy trying to get things set up, including one last weekend of busy plans before trying to put away some food in the freezer...I'm taking a meal over on Friday to some friends who just had twins (boys whom they named Aidan and Adolf), Saturday noon my in-laws are coming over (I love crockpots!) and Saturday evening the culinary adventure club is meeting!!! My favorite event of all!!!! This time around we're "visiting" the cuisine of Spain. We've done Morocco and international Christmas desserts. It's so inspiring, I try to cook one international meal a week at home. SOOO much fun!

Ooh, I knew you were close, but not quite that close! It's a boy, right? Are we allowed to know the name?
I think I remember reading about your culinary adventures on Facebook. That sounds like something I'd enjoy doing once I'm on my own. I love trying out new, different recipes, as well as making my own.

That's awesome Ivy! It sounds like you had a very nice day too!
Good question Ea. I don't have a clue as to why we cared so much about Pluto. Disney is as good a guess as any. Plus, now we have to change our sayings to memorize the planets. My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine.....?

How about My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nectarines? yum!
It can be hard whenever a major change takes place.
lol, yep, it is coming up soon! No, not revealing the name yet. Will have to wait until the birth annoucement---after all, we *just* changed our decision and who knows? We might change again, though I doubt it.
The name we'd chosen before, [s]Brayden[/s], has grown *super* popular in our area, for example in 1 month there were 4 coworkers who named their son that, so we decided to look for an alternative. It was kinda hard for me b/c I've been calling our baby by the other name since week 20!!!
Our choice this time is a combination of two of our favorites from our original list...The fn from my list, the mn from his. Stay tuned and you'll learn it very shortly (Maybe I'll have to post it in Elvish )

How exciting, Ivy! Congratulations!
I'm not sure what it is with us and Pluto, either. I guess we're just crazy like that.
For Valentine's day, I went out to eat with my family, then went grocery shopping. I got home, made a point of not doing any homework, watched a few movies, ended up doing homework, and went to bed. Exciting, I know.

Is smeag back around? *perks up* I ish Nurr. It says so in my sig.
It's the order of the planets and their names.
My = Mercury
Very = Venus
Eager = Earth
Mother = Mars
Just = Jupiter
Served = Saturn
Us = Uranus
Nine = Neptune
Pizzas = Pluto
But now we have no pizzas, so what are we being served?

^ And if we were ants we'd be able to read it.
For me at least, its a sentimental thing. As a child I learned that Pluto was a planet. I learned "My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas. I even did a report on Pluto in fifth grade where I made a pluto model, complete with moon, and I got an A!
Pluto was my favorite planet (well, aside from earth), but now he's no longer a planet. How sad.
