What I absolutely loved about Six Feet Under was how realistic everything was. All the characters, all the relationships.
Couldn't agree more 8). That's what made it such a great show

. Not entirely surprising, considering part of the writing team penned the film
American Beauty 8). Yeah, I liked Nate a lot, too

. It was very interesting to see him go from wanting to be as far away from his relatives as possible to helping the family cope and get back on its feet after the death of its patriarch, and
then bring everyone together with
his own death. That scene of the family, Brenda, Keith, and Billy at the table a couple of days before (or was it
after :/?) his funeral, toasting his memory, reminiscing about him, etc., was one of my favorites in the series

.

Oh, and Nate Sr.
I liked his recurring appearances in the series a lot

. Those moments when he appeared to one or more of his children in the various episodes were some of the best in the series, IMO. About his Oscar nomination (the actor's name is Richard Jenkins, BTW): Yeah, I did know about that 8). He's actually been in a lot of stuff. Nothing as major as the film role he was nominated for (called
The Visitor, I believe), of course, but I always recognize him when I see him. My reaction, without fail, every time, is, "Oh cool, it's the
Six Feet Under dad =)!"

I looked into True Blood. Looks interesting.
It is, very 8). Great twist on the whole "vampires live among humans" idea. It's based on a series of books written by an author named Charlaine Harris. I'm actually in the process of reading the one the first season was based on.
Most recent TV shows I watched:

Real Time With Bill Maher
