Fragile stood outside the hallway, listening to the voices discussing the murder. She felt a chill crawl under her skin as she remembered the events of a year before. Could they have a repeat of the same experience?
She wandered downstairs. She needed to find some tea to calm her nerves.

"Hey now," Nurr frowned as Psyche tried to poke her. "A little compassion, here? I am dead, you know." She went over to her daughter and tried to comfort her. Unfortunately, the only effect she really had was like a pearly transparent curtain. She then turned to Ea.
"Um, yes...I imagine someone is harboring a little resentment for that bit last year..." She waved a translucent hand. "But I suppose that means we can probably rule out anyone who is new."

Mist had run up the stairs after Psyche, disturbed but anxious to see what had happened to the victim. Death did not bother her; why, it was basically a part of her job description! Being brought to Valhalla by a Valkyrie really only happens once you're, well, dead. Sure, there were other things Valkyrie could do, but being on the battlefield was of prime interest.
When she reached the room, she frowned as she looked over at the body of the deceased. "So young, so mysterious," she whispered to herself. Suddenly, however, she caught sight of the ghost of Nurr herself! Cupping her hand around her chin and raising one golden eyebrow, she surveyed the ghost intently while Psyche performed her... rather unusual inspections.
"Breakfast?" She shook her head at Ea and Kitoky. "This must be one of the strangest places I've seen, where one looks at a murder victim's body and ghost, and then talks of breakfast! Hardy stomachs ye all have." She turned away and stepped out of the room, shaking her head. Under her breath, she added, "Strange, strange folk."

"Come now," Kit announced. "It's a rather unslightly scene to be watching a dead body so long. I'm sure Nurrantiel's starting to feel subconscious, so we should be on to breakfast."
Kit turned the direction of Nurrantiel's ghost, "What would you like us to do with your body? Being that you have murdered many of my guests, my best suggestion for you is to be buried in an unmarked grave in the back of this house."

Fuschia yawned her way onto the crime scene and stopped mid-yawn as she spotted Nurr's Ghost.
She paled, "Oh. My. Anything else I missed?"

Evening wandered downstairs on the lookout for some late breakfast. She had overslept, which was slightly unusual for her. As she made herself a mug of Earl Grey tea, she could hear voices coming from upstairs. No doubt the others were discussing Nurr’s murder; last night had been a somewhat traumatic affair, but Evening was determined not to lose her nerve. Musing over her tea, she wondered who would have the most cause to kill Nurr. As had been mentioned before, perhaps someone with a grudge from last year.
She took a sip from her tea. “Terrible business,” she murmured.

"I suppose," Nurr conceded. After all, she had been a nuisance. "Could I be buried by that big huge tree? You know, that oak one with the weird branches?"

When Nurr appeared in her ghostly form Sparkle wasn't as shocked as others, on the contrary she seemed somewhat excited. "Oh Nurr.. look how shiny you are! Sparkling white is the fashion color of this year you know." She watched Nurrantiel with more curiosity and then asked breathlessly: "Didn't you see anything of the killer? Or notice something odd?"

"Nothing." Nurr shrugged. "I told you, all there was was a funny feeling last night before I went to sleep. Just like a premonition, like I knew I shouldn't have come back this year."

Nurrantiel Mashiara wrote: "Um, yes...I imagine someone is harboring a little resentment for that bit last year..." "But I suppose that means we can probably rule out anyone who is new."
Listening to the Ghost of Nurr, Eä still had the feeling that it would be too easy to rule out anyone so early.
"It's true that someone might hold a grudge against you." She agreed.
"But I must say now in this delicate situation - just between the two of us - that your behaviour last year might have caused slight.... resentment as you put it. I'm sorry to break it to you, now you're dead and all, but well... some people have a tendency to take it a bit, you know personal when someone ... well, kills them.
It's most probable that someone has come to this party - perhaps disguised - just to get revenge."
Eä shrugged apologetically and motioned towards the kitchen. The prospect of food might seem more attractive to the living than the dead but she tried her best not to discriminate and exclude the non-living.
Trailing behind the others towards the kitchen, she tried to keep up with Kit.
"Concerning the burial of Nurr's body. Well, we need to dispose of the body of course - and the deceased will still be with us in spirit."
Eä glanced around to see if anyone got the joke or whether the others were still in the sulky, grieving mood.
"Ahem. So personally, I won't argue against her burial in the backyard."
She lowered her voice.
"After all we shouldn't just dump her somewhere... she might start to smell... or worse... or she might start to haunt us, you know in the nasty ghostly way."
Eä smiled, addressing her fellow guests as well.
"In fact, we could all dress up and go to her funeral, we lacked funerals last year, despite the great amount of deaths..."
She turned to the Ghost of Nurr.
"What do you think about that?"

Fragile stood in a corner of the kitchen, holding a cup of tea with both hands. She could hear voices, which probably meant others were approaching to find food. Hopefully that would help everyone calm down and try to enjoy themselves again.
The elf would be lying if she said she was particularly sorry to see Nurr go. It just seemed fitting [sorry Nurr ]. What disturbed her more was the possibility that if there had been a death, another one could follow. She was not eager for a repeat of last year.

((A person goes without internet for three days and comes back to find a friend murdered. I really should never be away at the beginning of Hallowfest!))
Susy was beginning to get the idea that this was really a very strange place. First she had to deal with Nurr being murdered. Then standing in the room with the dead body as people discussed what to do with it and when to have breakfast. THEN Nurr's ghost shows up!
"I need coffee: strong, black coffe...*hiccup*" Susy looked around to see if anyone heard that. She'd been trying to hide the growing fear she'd been feeling, but her hiccups always seemed to give her uneasiness away. Perfect

Sparkle raised her eyebrows at Eä remark on the killer harboring vengefull thoughts. "I thought that the previous killings all had been without a motive.." she smiled sweetly. "So why would the murderer have one now?"
Sparkle then turned to Kit, her mood definately brightened by the fact that 'breakfast' might include chocolate chip cookes, and cried astonished: "But dear Kit! You are not going to burry Nurr yourself are you? Just let the servants do that" she waved impatiently with her hand. "And we'll have some proper breakfast."

Deria shook her head. She'd never quite seen a ghost before, much less spent time talking to one. The entire business was much too odd, she thought. Remaining quiet, she retreated into a corner in the library to think over things.
(Just an impromptu post so Deria doesn't just sit there while I'm at school)

Fuschia remained curious, but simply stood where she couldn't get in the way. What an interesting party... She thought, Interesting indeed.

"Of course not, Sparkle." Kit said, waving her hand dismissively, "I shan't sully my hands with a burying the killer of so many of my guests. The distress I went through last year, honestly. All I really wanted was the perfectly nice hospital Halloween stay in one of my many old and possibly haunted mansions. Is that really too much to ask for?"
Kit then took up her whistle that hung around her neck and blew into it, eliciting a high pitched squeal into the air causing all the other guests to wince in pain.
Manny arrived less than a minute after.
"One of our guests has had an unfortunate accident," Kit began.
"Did they wet the bed?"
"No!" Kit scowled, "What a rude thing to say, of course not. They've died unfortunately."
Manny raised an eyebrow, "Is this better than wetting the bed?"
Kit shrugged, "Some would say yes. Now, I'd like for you to make sure she gets buried by the big tree in the back."
"There are many trees, ma'am."
She sighed, "The big oak tree, with the freaky branches like it wants to be like the tree in Sleepy Hollow."
"Ah, that tree." Manny finally realized, "Right away, ma'am."
