Deria placed herself right in the entrance hall with candy. She had doffed the ballerina costume after standing on pointe for too long and was back in the crimson-and-black-outfit with nice black high-heels with crystal accents, the crystal hair sticks back in a neat bun. At least there'll be lots of kids so I'm less likely to get killed, right? she thought. Though only a stupid killer would strike with so many people about. Then again, we've been thinking of poison, haven't we.... She retreated into the library, hoping someone would join her.

PD was on edge waiting for the children to come. What if they killed her? I mean, she wasn't much of a "children person" to begin with... sooo.... she glanced at herself in the mirror and took a deep breath. She had to be mentally prepared for this. She pushed open the door to the bedroom she was hiding in and peeked out, leaving it ajar. Still no one. The hallway was empty.

(Goodness, I've been out of town half of the day and missed so much!)
Morfinneth and Celephinnon had spent the day within the mansion and outside the mansion, taking their son trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. Upon their return, they had came upon the news that another murder had taken place and the next victim was Kitty Siggerston. Celephinnon's eyebrows went wide when upon hearing the words 'poisoned candy.' "What?!" he shouted suddenly. Little Celephindir had in his possession candy that was served in the mansion, which he had collected in a small bag, but he had not yet eaten any. Panicking, his father immediately took the bag away from the young elfling, telling him he was not to eat any candy in the mansion.

There were no kids yet, and Deria was bored. Grumbling, she wandered around the house carrying the bucket, which clunked uncomfortably. She came upon Morfinneth, her husband, and her son and saw the candy being taken from the youngster. "Yeah, we think it was poisoned. We didn't find any others of the same types of candy, but we don't know...and here we all are ready to let little trick-or-treaters eat it! Kit doesn't think the rest of it's poisoned though, but just to be safe..."

Kitty floated back into the mansion after spending several hours wandering the grounds of the mansion. Trailing not far behind her was what was once a tiny, grey and white kitten. Now, however, the kitten had a pearly white sheen to her fur and seemed almost translucent. "Look what I've found!" Kitty exclaimed. "This kitten..well..ghost of a kitten, I presume. I was walking the grounds, trying to sort out some of these clues, and she walked right up to me. She and I are the same, really. Both killed before our time, both wandering, looking for a companion. I think I'll call her Arlie Faye. Kit, would it bother you much if she stayed here?" Looking around for Kit, Kitty noticed the other guests gathering candy to give to the children. Rather than sitting around not making use of her pearly translucent self, Kitty resolved to walk through things (or people, whichever is more convenient) and give the kiddies a good-natured scare. Picking up Arlie Faye, Kitty floated off to prepare for the festivities.

Floating around the mansion, Kitty almost ran right into..or, rather, through..Deria. "Oh!" Kitty exclaimed in shock. "Hello, Darling. Would you like to accompany me to the library? The shelves will make excellent things to hide behind (and then float through) to scare the little ones."

Upon catching sight of the ghost-kitten, the Moving White Sheet that was following Violet everywhere let out a very frightened "meow!" and then raced toward the library.
"...You scared Winter," the Giant Miscoulered Pumpkin said. But she couldn't stay angry for long at all. "Aww but it's so cute!" She tried to pet the ghost-kitten, but that didn't work well, so she just filled a bucket with candy and ran off to the attic to await the children...of...DOOM!!!
...Meanwhile, the Moving White Sheet shrieked into the library, past the trick-or-treaters gathered there, leaped onto the closest bookshelf, and hid behind a row of books, tail twitching.

Deria felt a cold chill as Kitty slid through her. She gasped a little and blinked. "Oh, er, sure Kitty," she said, a little unnerved, and wandered out there with a basket. "I feel rather sorry for them. Let me give them candy first, okay? Until I'm sick of the little things, that is..."

(So Lyds and Beej are just going to be in the library with y'all because I don't know where else to put them. Yay.)
Betelgeuse frowned at his yellowed nails prying under them with a stick he had found to get some of the dirt out from under them. The poltergeist found - to his extreme annoyance - that Lydia still had control over his soul and that she was still as dull dead as she was when she was alive.
"Really babes," said the floating ghoul looking up from his task to the newly dead who was enjoying her new ghostly powers by sitting cross legged in the middle of an aisle with a book out flipping the pages without the use of her hands. "The library?" He finished sardonically.
"You don't have to be here," she responded with an equally caustic tone.
"But there's nothing else to doooooo...." he whined, flipping over onto his back, his arm covering his face in a movement of despair.
"Read, Betelgeuse," she responded sharply then squeaked and put her hand over her mouth.
The other ghost seemed very annoyed at the use of his name. "Stop saying that! Do you want me stuck in the mirror again?" He yelled, and then paused, his voice picked up again after a moment. "That was rhetorical by the way."
"I figured," Lydia said dully, another page flipping with a bit of concentration on her part. "This makes me feel like a Jedi," she confessed with a grin.
Betelgeuse mimicked the look. "I know right? It's awesome."

Deria grinned at the pair of ghosts. "Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to be dead after all," she ruminated. It would make things interesting, to say the least.

The Moving White Sheet found the library shelf to be most uncomfortable, so it moved slightly to the left, and...TOPPLEBANG! A book fell to the floor. "Meow," it said.
