Neill Blomkamp is a serious rumour/contender for the directors chair. If you're not familiar with his work, he was behind the amazing District 9.

If true...I'm sold.

^ I agree, and since PJ worked with him closely on District 9, they already have a working relationship. I would totally be okay with that if Neill decided to direct, I loved District 9.

That I would be okay with considering he and PJ worked so closely on District 9. Has anyone else heard the rumour that David Yates could be chosen as director? I think I'd just about die if that happened.

Yeah I heard some rumblings though apparently now Neill won't be involved. This made me quite sad. I'd have loved to have seen what he could do with the story.

Again? These people just need to figure their stuff out. How many times has it been said that PJ is going to direct? Honestly. Until it's confirmed, I'm not getting excited. I'm tired of having my hopes up over every new director, especially after what happened with del Toro.

I think it's been confirmed that he is definitely now negotiating to take the directors seat. Obviously it could still go either way, but at least now it's more than a rumour that he may be interested in directing the films.

I am hopeful anyway.

*crosses fingers* I guess we simply have to hope for the best now. At least we know they're discussing it!

I hope it's true! Last I read, PJ really didn't want to direct it, so now I hope this means he's at least considering it. I hope we get some news-- and a green light-- soon!

If he does end up directing it. I really hope he's doing it because he really wants to and not because he feels he has to or is obligated to.

Has anyone been keeping up with the news on Martin Freeman? :)

Apparently he was definitely offered the role, although now there's some debate over whether he can accept it due to his commits to Sherlock. It sounds as though they're negotiating, which is really exciting! :D I hope it gets the ball rolling for the entire film!

Life finally settles down enough for me to pop into AU, and I am greeted by PJ news. Yay! I hope he directs. He really aught to finish the obsession that he started. I shall keep my fingers crossed!

Sometimes I wonder why it is when LOTR was made so easily without complications of big studios and limitless funding, now they are making a sure winner, and you'd think it would be even easier to make.. it's all more complicated.

The news recently regarding the Hobbit has been very confusing. I think it's unfair of the unions to say for actors to boycott the prooduction - it wasn't PJ's fault that some people were not paid all they are owed - and it's even more unfair when you think of what he brought to New Zealand and also Australia because of where he filmed LOTR and all the cast and crew he used from there.

Did anyone hear about the fire at the studio where they film the miniature scenes? That makes me sad, especially if any LOTR and King Kong stuff were still being store there.

And it seems it's official regarding the Hobbit in 3-D. If 2-D is dead by then, I'm going to cry.
