I own the FOTR and ROTK extended editions, but unfortunately not the TTT special edition.

I was hoping someone who does own it, may be able to share info about the extended or added scenes that appear in the special edition. Or perhaps somebody knows where I can read about these scenes online?

Thanks :)

The Two Towers Extended Edition is possibly the BEST of all three editions. I was actually really disappointed in the Return of the King EE. Anyways....

There is actually a few scenes that are added in this one. ....Wait, what am I saying? There are ALWAYS alot of scenes added, thus the EXTENDED edition. Wow, Kit. It's 3 am, can you tell?

The transcripts I managed to get are creditted to Council of Elrond:

Well, the first added scene we see are of Sam and Frodo after Frodo waking up from the dream with Gandalf....

Scene 2: Elven Rope wrote:
<Frodo and Sam climb down a giant rock in the Emyn Muil with the aid of Sam’s rope>

Sam: Can you see the bottom?

Frodo: No! Don’t look down, Sam! Just keep going.

<Sam slips and a box drops from his bag>

Sam: Argh! Catch it. Grab it Mr Frodo!

<Frodo manages to grab the box but slips instead>

Frodo: Arghhh!

Sam: Mr Frodo?

<Frodo lands safely on the ground>

Frodo: I think I’ve found the bottom.

<Sam climbs dwon to Frodo>

Sam: Bogs and rope and goodness knows what. It’s not natural. None of it.

Frodo: <looking at the box> What’s in this?

Sam: Nothing. Just a bit of seasoning. I thought maybe if we was having a roast chicken one night or something.

Frodo: Roast chicken?!

Sam : You never know.

Frodo: <smiling> Sam, my dear Sam.

Sam: It’s very special, that. It’s the best salt in all the Shire.

Frodo: It is special. It’s a little bit of home.

<Frodo looks at Sam’s rope hanging down from the rock>

Frodo: We can’t leave this here for someone to follow us down.

Sam: Who’s gonna follow us down here, Mr Frodo? It’s a shame really. Lady Galadriel gave me that. Real Elvish rope. Well there’s nothing for it. It’s one of my knots. Won’t come free in a hurry.

<Sam pulls the rope and all of a sudden it drops down>

Frodo: <amused> Real Elvish rope.

It seems as though, it's not letting me post another scene without it messing up or something =/ So, I'll post later on some more.

Ahh, very kind as always, Kit :)

I didn't realise there were actually any extended transcripts online. I guess that is where being lazy and giving up on google after the first 10 results, will get you.. In any case, I'm off to the Council of Elrond!

Hi!

I own all three extended editions (mommy and daddy bought it for me ofr Christmas last year), so I'll tell you some of the extanded scenes.

There's the one Kitoky posted about the elven rope. And there's more about Faramir, which makes him look not quite so evil. And there's more with the ents etc.

The EE is AWESOME! I hope you can get it.

Hey. I believe I know you. The Two Towers Extended Edition is probably my favorite. I accidentally ruined the Return of The King EE but I watched it and I still liked The Two Towers EE better. The added scenes are really good. I really like the "The Heir of Numenor," "The Final Tally," and "Flotsam and Jetsam" scenes. Anyways, hope you get to watch it sometime soon. Talk to you later.

Thank you, thank you. I'm sorry your RotK EE was ruined Jas :confuzzled: I've been looking everywhere for a copy of TTT:EE, but no luck, thus far. I won't give up though, thanks again for your comments!

Blah. Have you considered ordering it online? I'm surprised there's no stores for you to buy it from, don't you people have a Walmart?! :P

No  Should we have?

We're fortunate to have a Big W though... and that's exactly where I picked up my new copy for only $27. That's about $50 cheaper than my RotK EE cost, yay!

I have to say I love ALL of the scenes they added, especially the extra Saruman footage. I think the few extra minutes focussed on Gandalf in Fangorn, were really well done, as was the Sons of the Steward scene.

Thank God [or Pete ] for the extended editions! :)

Got all three, enjoyed more then i would imagine them all.

The Two towers have pretty interesting addons, of witch the most one that i liked was the flashback scene from Osgiliath where Faramir, Boromir and Denethor are shown.... many things fall better in place after it. Faramir is shown less bad, and the reason why he was so "bad" afterwards. We find out that Boromir is not Daddies little spoiled son for he fires back at Denethor after he insults the capabilities of Faramir, and the love between the brothers is also shown very good and the fact that there is no rivalry between them...

Also there are certain humourus elements added in witch i really had a good laugh...

A must have!

It is by far the best of the three EE's.

I don't have it, but my friend does, so I borrow it from time to time.

The Sons of the Steward section is so great. I had read the book before I saw the theatrical version, so I knew what Faramir was really like, but most of those with me didn't, so...it was fun watching them in the TTT EE. "Oh....so that's why...."

Lol. People can be really funny at times.

You can always order it from Amazon.com

I agree with everyone here, TTT EE is definitely the best of the EEs! Tons of hilarious new scenes and more depth to the story. One of my favorite new scenes is the Flotsam and Jetsam one, really Merry & Pippin doing what they do best ya know :D

Am I the only one crazy enough to have seen ALL the appendicies discs for all three EEs, plus watched all the EE movies with each of the four commentary tracks? lmao I've also had two back-to-back EE marathons
