Arwen the webmaster wrote: How about Bob the webmaster? Is that any better? The underline's gone anyway, so we'll have to be Bob-less. Sad. Bring the line back!!
Joking.
That is true. As it's a new computer, I'll just live with satan. We've been in a relationship for years anyhow.
The colours look fine to me. I didn't notice they changed from page to page. I'm just happy we have a new skin.
And I can see what you're saying about the header Taur, but I am really in love with what Eru has done with the text, and actually if you swap back to the blue skin, you'll see the Arwen-Undomiel.com is far more crammed I think, to the point it's not really easy to read. The font on this header is bright and vibrant and I think really stands out as well. The only thing I would maybe suggest (in case more people feel like yourself) is that Eru could have Arwen-Udomiel.com on one line. I know the main site header won't be on one line, but a slight deviation won't hurt I don't think and it might seem to be less crammed.
But as I said, I love it the way it is.

I adore the colors! Adore them! And the scroll work around the "post reply" button is gorgeous. The only nit-picking I can think of with this lovely layout is the font, the heading font- it's really difficult to read. Other than that I love it!

JF - I tried the one-line-text-look and to me, it looked more cramped together that way since there was so little space between 'Arwen-Undomiel.com' and 'Forum'. Ivreniel - Thank you for the lovely comments! That is the font the majority wanted, though.

You know, I really like how the font looks for Arwen-Undomiel.com, but I'm not crazy about how it looks for Forum I think it's that the capital F and the lowercase R are oddly shaped, so you have to glance at it a couple times if you don't already know it says Forum. Are there any other fonts in that same font family (Jellyka, right?) we could try?

Yes the capital F. I had such problems with it. I actually had to enlarge it a bit and move it down quite a lot to even make it look like a capital F. It's 4:35 AM over here though so I'll try some of the other Jellyka fonts tomorrow. Some may want to kill me for saying this (perhaps not that harsh, just bludgeon me) but I like the forum the way it is now. I noticed the little changes that were made between earlier this afternoon and now and they are all for the better! The usernames do not really bother me, and I am glad something could be done about the regular links (I did read how you said they are tricky to fix, Eru). I, too, like the font for Arwen-Undomiel.com and I am actually fine with the "Forum" as well but to be honest, I had to stare at it a bit when I first switched over to this theme. But as far as the color scheme goes, I am happy with all the colors. Everything looks nice.

Me too, I think it looks beautiful It's an awesome job you've done. And I just noticed the wee fancy bits round the reply button, that's very cool.

Aww thanks so much you guys. I'm blushing over here! Glad to see that the overall feeling seems to be very positive. I actually stole my own design for the reply/new topic buttons. I had made blue buttons just like that (though with a different font for the text) for another forum I skinned and loved them so much that I figured they'd fit so well here on A-U. They feel very Elven in design me thinks. The font I used for these green ones is of course; Ringbearer! Thanks Eä! I made the sig set a few weeks ago while I was working on the green skin but wanted to wait until the skin was finished and activated before using it.

This looks quite awesome! But since when are we able to see his green desig? Is it enabled days ago, or since when? Indeed the 'new topic' button looks genius!

Just wanted to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new layout. I may be reiterating what all of you have said, but hey! I agree, the F and R in Forum are hard to read, a bit. But I think that if you KNOW this is a forum, you can guess what it says. I really like the decorative thingies around the Post Reply button, although I think that light signatures are a little glaring against the green. Just saying.

Eru: I looked at the list of fonts you put up, and I think maybe "Jellyka Castle Queen" (or something like that) could be an option? It's similar enough to the one we already have that I don't think people would react to a difference between Arwen-Undomiel.com and Forum.

Thanks again guys! Really appreciate all the lovely comments. Anameleth - Aye, Jellyka Castle Queen is a favorite of mine and you're right that it is kind of similar in design. Here are two variations on the 'Forum' text. I prefer the last one I think as it's a hybrid of both Castle's Queen and Vampire Street, so it's the best of both world so to speak. Let me know what you guys think: Jellyka Castle's Queen Jellyka Castle's Queen & Jellyka Vampire Street
