Hahah that battle idea sounds like crazy amounts of fun. Though I don't think I quite "get" what you mean by it being hosted by the Nazgul club- does that mean only members of that club can take part or does the rp take place in the club thread or is the club one team/ side or what?? Seeing as RotR is meant to be forum-wide it seems a little bit exclusive- but otherwise a really great idea.

Re the scavenger hunt- maybe it could be done like a quiz with a daily question of varying difficulties- which tests your knowledge of the book AND films (or your super google abilities). So the questions could be along the lines of: how many dogs does farmer maggot have or who's catchphrase is 'My Precioussssss'? etc. I guess that's more "scavenging" for knowledge rather than actually looking for things/ scenes in the films?

Also quick question is this RotR related exclusively to FotR because of it being the 10th anniversary this year or the LotR trilogy/ Hobbit/ Silm in general?

I need a little bit enlightenment on this part too. Otherwise it's an awesome idea. :P

About the scavenger hunt - LotR quiz sounds definitely more challenging! Lithoniel asked me to work on the scavenger hunt, so I'll PM her right away. :)

Originally I and Smaug thought to make this year's RotR more FotR related, yeah to celebrate the 10th anniversary since the release of the movie, yeah. But this doesn't mean we'll neglect the rest of the movies/books. :teehee:

Ah i see what you mean - i simpply meant that for all other things you have each event being hosted by someone - ie someone to organise it. and i was proposeing the NC set everything up for you.

Its also a shameless way for us to promote ourselves. Anyone who sighned up to be in the Ringwaith team would be encoraged to join the Nazgul Club. Shameless I agree, but we are the undead.

Sorry, to interrupt but here's my two cents: Perhaps you should just get it out there and get the ball rolling. :teehee: While some of the things do require some organisation and planning, like the scavenger hunt and the movie marathon, there are other things that could pretty much run themselves, like the Hobbit/Elven ball/planning of the Hobbit/Elven ball. Get some threads up on it and it will make it a lot easier for the casual visitor/participant to post. Also, you could start some contest threads so people could start signing up. People will see that something is brewing and that might create some awareness/interest for the events that require a little more planning and participation. Just an idea though. :)

@Anduril - So with few words. There are two teams - The Nazgul one and...(?), which battle each other with whatever weapons they choose. To be a part of the Nazgul team doesn't require to be a member of the NC. Did I get the scheme right?

@Ea: But of course. Launching everything at once is a very difficult task anyway. :teehee: I think we should do it on portions - just like you suggested. :P Which reminds me - I saw the suggestion to combine Frodo's and Bilbo's birthday with the Hobbit Party, which is actually a really nice idea. The only thing that troubles me is that if we postpone the Hobbit Party for 22nd September, it'll happen to overlap the Elven ball afterwards. :erm:

And one last thing - I've been checking on the advertisement/recruiting threads for the event and I noticed that the fanfiction contests didn't get the feedback I hoped for, so I think it's a better idea to drop them off for this year. I think it's better to cancel them rather than having no participants.

I was thinking more teams but just two would work better acctually. Yeah - good and evil. So Nazgul vs. Hobbits perhaps. (obviousely you don't need to have the post count of a Hobbit or a Ringwraith to be on either of these teams. Just personal perferance, though if too many people join one side the last five people to join will be invited to please join the other to even it out please.)
And yes, you are not required to be part of the NC lol.

I really don't think it will matter if there's some slight overlap. Its not like this is real life and we have to get to diffrent locations.

Okay, okay, okay. Five thirty in the morning/didn't sleep last night/just found this thread idea. For people who can't draw. People compare and go head to head with recipes. Like cooking, yeah? But like, even if it wasn't mentioned in the book or movie but still Lord of the Rings themed... yeah?

So do you want me to make a scavenger hunt list for TTT and RotK? and by the way, where did Smaug run off too?

@Rat_and_the_Raven: Not that's an original idea. Could you tell us more about it. I mean how do you picture it - more like a contest or not? Because if it isn't a contest we could include it as part of the Hobbit Party for example. There's even a whole thread for the Party's menu.

@Anduril: Alright! Thanks for the info, Andi! :) Set up a thread for the RP whenever you like. :)

@Lithoniel: If it's not a problem, that'd b lovely. :) About Smaug, I have no idea what happened with her. I hope RL won't be too harsh on her and she'll be able to join the fun at some point. :)

Currently I'm updating the organisation post. Stay tuned for the changes. :P

There's a fanart contest for traditional art, if you can draw- I'm only incharge of the art contests though.

Elen did consider Fanfiction contest, and there's Rat's idea of a Recipe contest too :)
