(It's been far too long since I've seen the TTT EE, so I don't remember the exact order of the events in this post...does anyone know where the 'final count: 42' scene is? I'm too lazy to drag out my DVDs. But I do want that in here!) Legolas nodded to Amara, his eyes never leaving hers. He was still curious as to what had happened to make them change in the way that they had--he had never in his long years heard of something happening like that before--but for now all he cared about was drinking in the sight of Amara as if she would vanish. They separated again and Amara mounted her own horse, and Legolas had time to give her a nod and a smile before they charged the Uruks. They rode out to the Causeway, the pounding rain of before having been replaced by a glorious sunrise--a sunrise that was made all the more glorious by the arrival of Gandalf and the Rohirrim. Legolas couldn't help but stare in wonder as the Rohirrim rode down the steep precipice towards the battle, never faltering once as they charged toward the Uruk-Hai. The clash of metal and swords was earshattering as the two sides met, and amidst the chaos of battle Legolas smiled. They had the advantage now. Victory would be theirs. The battle was harsh, but the addition of the Rohirrim gave them the chance they needed to beat back the Uruk-Hai. Eventually, those who were still alive began to fled into the forest, but Eomer cautioned the others from following. Soon, Legolas saw why--the trees were attacking the Orcs and Uruks that sought refuge under their branches. "Victory! We have victory!" Theoden shouted. Legolas gave a shout of joy, dropping his weapons to the ground and running to Amara. He picked her up and spun her around. "Victory!" he cried. "Amara, my love, we did it!"

(Hmm... It's in Scene 62 ~ The Final Tally. Where after the battle of Helms Deep, the men are piling up the dead Uruk-hai.)
Amara watched in amazement, as Gandalf and the Rohirrim charged into battle with them. She smiled widely and then realized that they had all won. She looked over and saw Legolas running toward her, after King Theoden had proclaimed victory over the battle. The Orcs and Uruk-hai had fled into Fangorn Forest and died within the trees. She laughed, as Legolas picked her up and spun her around; resting her hands on his shoulders with a big smile. She forgot all about the pain in her stomach and didn't care much about it anymore. She was just glad that they had gotten this far without losing anyone else from the Fellowship.
At least, she hoped that were true.
Resting her feet on the ground again, she looked up into Legolas' eyes and kissed him softly on the lips. She smiled even more once she pulled away. "For our son!" She exclaimed and then hugged him tightly.
Gandalf smiled, as he looked over the others who were cheering in victory and hugging each other. Elves and men alike. He nodded and then looked to Aragorn. "Sauron’s wrath will be terrible, his retribution swift. The battle for Helm’s Deep is over. The battle for Middle-earth is about to begin. All our hopes now lie with three little Hobbits. Somewhere in the wilderness." He said softly to him and Aragorn nodded, his smile faltering a bit.

(haha, thanks! I probably put it in the wrong order, but oh well!)
Legolas couldn't keep the bright grin off of his face. They had won, Against all odds, good had prevailed. Yes, they had paid for it dearly in lives, but they had achieved so much more. Rohan was safe, for the moment. And even more importantly, so was the rest of the Fellowship. As fractured as it was, they had managed to stay together through it all.
They had won.
Legolas beamed down at Amara at her words. "For our son," he repeated.
He pulled away from her embrace and made his way toward Gandalf and Aragorn, hugging them both and clapping them on the back. He did the same with Haldir before going to retrieve his bow where he had left it. Looking down at it, he approached Gimli, who was sitting on a dead Uruk while smoking his pipe casually. "Final count," Legolas told him, "Forty-two."
"Forty-two?" Gimli asked. "Oh, that's not bad for a pointy-eared Elvish princeling." Legolas looked up, narrowing his eyes. "I myself am sitting pretty on forty-three." Just then, the Uruk beneath the Dwarf twitched, and Legolas seized the opportunity to shoot an arrow at it before Gimli could do so much as blink. "Forty-three," he said smugly.
"He was already dead."
"He was twitching," Legolas protested.
"He was twitching," said Gimli exasperatedly, "because he's got MY axe embedded in his nervous system!" He shook the axe for emphasis. Legolas laughed, shaking his head at his friend before going to find Amara once more. There was still much to be done, if they wanted to defeat Sauron, but now was the time for rest, and for celebration.
"There you are!" he cried, coming up beside her. "Are you feeling all right? I think you should get that wound looked at once more, just in case."

When Legolas had left to gather his things, Amara had looked over and seen Aragorn smiling widely to her. She smiled back to him and then hurried over and hugged her tightly, which made her laugh a bit. "I thought we had lost you, dear friend." He said to her softly, holding onto her. She smiled widely and then backed up a bit. "You're stuck with me, it seems." She said and he grinned, before looking over her shoulder to see Legolas.
She looked to Legolas once he arrived at her side and then smiled lovingly to him. "I think I'm fine, but there is no harm in checking." She agreed with him, before mounting her horse again. She got comfortable and then looked down to him. "Want to meet up later or come with me?" She asked him softly and looked into his eyes, happily. She never thought that she would meet someone like him in her lifetime.
The only thing that she remembered from her life in the real world was that she was miserable and her heart was hardened by the harsh realities. But, coming to Middle Earth saved her. Even the small memories she had of the real world were diminishing. For that, she was glad. She didn't want to think about it anymore.
But, one thing that bothered her was that she had no clue if she had any family in Middle Earth. If Legolas was to be her only family than so be it. She wouldn't have traded him for anyone or anything in the world.

Legolas thought for a moment at Amara's question. He wanted to go with her, but would that be appropriate? He gave her a smile, catching Estel's eye. "You go on ahead, love--but fetch me if there are any problems. I mean it. I still maintain that you shouldn't have gone back out there, but you're far too stubborn for me." He grinned, taking her hand. "I will find you later."
As Amara left, Legolas joined Estel and Gandalf as they spoke. "We did it," he said softly, as if he still could hardly believe it himself. "We came so close to losing everything we hold dear, but we were victorious in the end." He gave a sigh. "I know this victory will not last forever. But for now, let us cast aside our worry. Let us celebrate the defeat of Isengard."

Amara nodded once to Legolas and then waved to her friends, before clicking her tongue to the horse. The horse neighed and then galloped away, heading back to the Keep quickly. Many thoughts were racing through her mind during that moment of peace for her: Frodo, Sam, Arabella, her and Legolas' son, Sauron, her family (if she had any), the future of Middle Earth and so on. Some of this thoughts made her nervous, but none were to be taken lightly anyway.
Making it back to the Keep, she dismounted her horse and then walked inside to head back to the infirmary. She talked to the nurse and said that she had gone back into battle, after being wounded. The nurse understood, but she really needed to be checked out. Sure, she felt a little bit of pain, but it was nothing like it had been before. The nurse made her take her armor off and then lift her shirt up halfway, so she could see the wound. "Well, you will be sore in the morning, mi'lady. But, you'll be fine." She said softly and then cleaned up the wound again, re-wrapping a new dressing onto it.
She was instructed to lay down for a while and just relax, so she sighed deeply and nodded. "Alright..." She said softly and made a face. The nurse said that she had some fresh clothes for her to wear, so she took them appreciatively. She stood up and walked over to a changing area, changing into the night attire; being a beautiful light blue dress. She let her hair down and then washed the blood off of her face a bit with some wet rags they had. She then walked over to the cot she had been on previously.
It was time for her to rest.
So, she laid down on her side and curled up, resting her head down on the small pillow. She took a shaky breath and closed her eyes; afraid to fall asleep.

Legolas had expected to stay up talking long into the night, but Gandalf sent them away to rest, saying that they had been through so much already and needed their strength now more than ever. Legolas had given a grateful nod before going to find Amara. He knocked on her door gently and bid her goodnight before going to the chamber that had been prepared for him. As soon as he arrived, a wall of fatigue hit him, as if the adrenaline coursing through his body had prevented him from feeling so weary up until now. He prepared for bed, falling asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
In his dream, he was back in that forest, wandering the paths alone. He still could not place where he was--he had the feeling that the forest was ancient and yet new at the same time, as if something had renewed it. Where was this forest? It wasn't Mirkwood or Lorien, and it did not resemble Fangorn either from what little he had seen of it. One thing was certain, however, this forest was home. But how could that be so? Mirkwood was his home, it always had been. He had promised to take Amara there, once this was all over. So how could another forest, another realm, replace Greenwood the Great as his true home?
He heard Amara's voice, and turned to see her standing nearby with a small child. His eyes widened at the sight, knowing immediately that it was their son, that he was experiencing the same dream that Amara had. They waved him over, and he ran to join them--
And was taken out of the dream by a knock on the door. He opened his eyes slowly, feeling as though he hadn't rested at all, though he could tell by the amount of light in the room that he had and it was now the next day. He rose and opened the door, finding a servant there. "I'm sorry to disturb you, my lord," he said, "But Gandalf requests your presence as soon as you are ready." Legolas nodded to him and the servant left with a bow.
A little early for council meetings, isn't it, Mithrandir? he thought, amused, as he stretched his arms up over his head and tried to wake up, even though he still felt tired from the battle. He dressed quickly and made his way to the Keep's main hall, where he found Gandalf, Aragorn, and Gimli already there, with Eomer and Theoden close by. "Good morning, my friends," he said. "And what, may I ask, was so important that you had to deprive all of us of a much-needed sleep, Gandalf?" He smiled to let the Wizard know he was joking.
Gandalf chuckled. "I am sorry. We have a journey ahead of us, I'm afraid. Those gravely wounded shall remain behind until they are well enough to travel, but the King wishes for those able to endure the journey to return to Edoras as soon as possible."
Legolas nodded respectfully to the King. "Of course. I shall prepare to leave."
"Not so fast, old friend," Gandalf said with a smile. "We must take another road. We must return to Fangorn. I believe there we shall find two companions who shall be most pleased to see us again."
Legolas grinned. "The Hobbits."

Amara had awoken early the next morning, barely getting any sleep during the night. She had too many things running through her head and her body was still so tense from battle, that it was impossible for her mind to shut down. She got up before the sun and put on her battle clothes and armor, heading out into the hall. She couldn't stay in bed any longer, even though she was exhausted.
Walking down the hall, she slowly knelt down onto her knees and tucked her legs beneath her. She looked out the window to the dark sky, which would soon be filled with sunlight and watched as the sun began to rise. She took a deep breath and then closed her eyes, trying to go into a meditative state. She needed to relax before the next battle.
After a while, she heard voices not that far from her and she knew that it was everyone she knew. She slowly opened her eyes and listened to the conversation, but kept her tired eyes on the sky. She sighed and then rested her hands on her legs, biting her lower lip.

The smile that came over Legolas' face at the prospect of seeing Merry and Pippin again faded as he left the hall to prepare to leave and saw Amara, who had been curiously absent earlier. There were dark circles under her newly-blue eyes from lack of sleep, and her face looked troubled. He frowned and came to kneel beside her, taking a hold of her hands. "Good morning," he said softly, kissing her forehead. "Are you all right?" he asked, looking at her with concerned eyes. "Gandalf says we must leave soon. We are going to Fangorn, to find Merry and Pippin. I'm sure they'll be very glad to see you again, after saving them the way you did."
He squeezed her hand gently. "Did you get any sleep at all?" he asked her. "What is the matter? Are you in pain? Please tell me what's wrong..." He thought that his words during the battle, the sheer faith that they had had in the Fellowship, the future, and each other was enough to heal Amara for good. Perhaps it had simply been too good to be true--perhaps they still had more struggles to face together.

Amara wasn't taken aback at all, when Legolas arrived at her side. She slowly looked to him and smiled lovingly to him. She thought it was adorable the way he was so concerned about her all of the time. She held onto his hands tightly and kissed them both. "Good morning, my love. I barely got any sleep last night. My mind was too focused on the Hobbits. And the war. Sleeping is the last thing I think about." She said to him softly and then laughed a bit, shaking her head.
She probably sounded stubborn again.
She was excited that they were going to see Merry and Pippin again in Fangorn. That excitement shone bright in her tired blue eyes. She leaned against Legolas and sighed a bit, feeling comforted by his presence. "Are we leaving now?" She asked him softly, closing her eyes for a couple of moments.

Colin hobbled up the hall, trying to see Lady Amara or. . .what was his name again, Legolas? That was it. There they were, at the far end of the hall. During the battle, he knew of some commotion with the two elves, and hoped nothing bad had happened. he wished he could have been out there, fighting, doing something at least. But he couldn't, and all because of those Uruk-hai. Colin would have loved for a chance to get back at them. He limped over to Amara and Legolas, having just found them.
"Are--are you leaving now?" he said, echoing Amara's question.

"Were you thinking mainly of Merry and Pippin?" Legolas asked. "Or of Frodo and Arabella? Your dear friend is stronger than anyone knows, Amara. She'll be all right, and she'll look after the others."
The little crippled lad, Colin, hobbled up to them just then, and both he and Amara asked whether they would be leaving soon. Legolas smiled at the boy softly, trying to ignore the slightly bitter feelings that rose up at the sight of him. He knew the boy had become rather attached to Amara. Why Legolas perceived this as a threat, however, was beyond him--Colin was a child, after all!
"Hello, Colin," he said. "Glad to see you made it through all right. We'll be leaving before mid-morning, I would expect. But as soon as we locate our friends, we shall begin to make our way back to Edoras. It shouldn't be too long of a trip. Theoden has promised to hold off the celebration of our victory until we return." His eyes brightened, and he turned to Amara. "Just imagine the looks on Merry and Pippin's faces when they see Edoras for the first time!"

Amara heard what Legolas said about Arabella and then took a deep breath, nodding in agreement. "I know she's strong... Stronger than me, probably. But, I'll always fear for her. Perhaps it is because she is out of my reach." She said softly and then looked up to him with a small smile on her tired face.
Hearing a voice from behind, she looked over her shoulder and saw that it was Colin. She smiled a little more to him, glad to see that he was alright and hadn't received anymore injuries. Lady Eowyn had taken good care of him. She nodded to what Legolas said to him and then looked back to Legolas, when he spoke of Merry and Pippin seeing Edoras for the first time.
She knew that they would have a great time there. "I can't wait to see the looks on their faces." She said to Legolas softly and smiled more.

(Harthad, feel free to jump in whenever, we're just trying to keep things going here. I'm still debating creating a younger character that can be Colin's friend. ) "You place too much doubt on yourself, my love. I have never seen anyone act stronger than you did at the battle. You are stronger than I think you will ever realize. And when you see Arabella again, you will be able to tell her all about everything we've done. She'll be so proud of you, I'm sure." Legolas laughed, thinking of the chaos that would arise once Merry and Pippin were unleashed at Edoras. The Golden Hall might never be the same after those two troublemakers were through with it! But despite their foolishness at times, they had stout hearts, and he knew that they would do their part in whatever way they could to help defeat Sauron. Like all the Hobbits he had had the pleasure to meet, they were unswayingly loyal and brave. "I'm sure Merry and Pippin will have much to tell us of their adventures since the last time we saw them, as well. Come, Amara. We should prepare to leave--the sooner we find them, the sooner we can return to Edoras."

"Can--can I come with you?" Colin asked forlornly. He didn't want to be abandoned. . .again. "I mean, that's okay if you--if you don't want me around." He lowered his eyes to the ground.

Amara smiled lovingly to what Legolas said to her about Arabella being proud of her and how strong she was herself. She hadn't really thought of herself as strong before. But, she probably needed to start. She was in charge of keeping the faith high for the Fellowship. She really wanted to make sure that everyone remained healthy and safe, while in her care.
It was all up to her and Arabella. Even though, they were apart.
Listening to Colin, she smiled and nodded to him instantly. "Of course you can come, Colin. You are a friend to me and Legolas. I want to make sure that you are safe. I do not know where you come from or where your family is, but I will make sure that no harm comes to you." She said softly and looked over his young features, with a kind smile.
She slowly stood up in her spot and then sighed, looking to Legolas again. "Alright, love. I will go and prepare my horse." She said to him softly and kissed his cheek, before walking away slowly.
