I wanted to make a thread for all the charecters who haven't already had a thread made about them.

So for instance RICHARD ARMITAGE is going to be Thorin. I think my neighbours might have heard my squeaks of happiness. He's sooooo awesome. And so brooding - he will e perfect for Thorin. What do other people think of him and the other actors?

When I heard he was cast - I was kinda surprised, as I expected someone older and more John Rhys-Davies-ish to be cast as Thorin. But I was really pleased as well because he showed in Robin Hood and Spooks that he was a completely fantastic actor- so I can't wait to see him in the Hobbit.

I also loved that when they announced the dwarves cast (and Bilbo and Smaug I guess too) so many of them were British (and Irish if you count James Nesbit) actors from BBC dramas, it seems like PJ has recognised all the talent in our little island I'll stop being patriotic now

To be fair though, loads of them are kiwi's, so we can't take all the pride...(Ruuuuuuuuuuule Brittania! Brittania rules the waaaaaaves....)

He's a method actor and i know he'll bring real commitment to the role and really belive he is Thorin to a certain extent. I think he's a perfect match for the role.

The actor cast as Thranduil is younger than Orlando Bloom. I just find that really funny for some reason.

I'm just really excited for Jed Brophy as Nori. He was a couple of different orcs in LotR, so it's great to see him as a recognizable character.

See, this is what I'm excited about. Shame he isn't playing Figwit, though -- that would have been classic. :P
