She silently reached her hand out to the flame, and it instantly was put out. "I told you. I have other abilities." she didn't look at Markus, or anyone else for that matter.

Marylyn swallowed and took a deep breath. "I know Luna. It does not mean that you have to fight alone." Marylyn settled a hand, gently, on Luna's arm. "I did not mean to belittle your abilities...I simply could not have you going out there on your own." Markus stared at the two of them, unable to fathom their conversation.

"But I can stay hidden! Extinguish most of their forces before they even reach you! That wa my plan! There is no need for me to be seen!" Luna pleaded, desperate to actually help and not just settle for trying to help. She knew this would work.

Sirel was absolutely speechless - a rare occasion, as many who knew her would testify to. This was most certainly an unexpected turn of events. "I--I--What?" she stuttered.

"What happens if that doesn't work? What if you are seen? What then? I do not want to lose you." Marylyn spoke softly, throwing an awkward glance at her brother.

"I told you! Marylyn, I am but an insect among gods here. I would willingly take the risk." she spoke quietly, biting her cheek. "Why are you so adamant that people would mourn me?" she questioned.

Markus blushed slightly. "Luna we have been friends for what feels like an age. You saved me from an eternity of hell. I owe you my life. How could you not be missed? You have been a treasured companion to both Sirel and I. Do you really think we want to lose you?" Markus's eyes were sorrowful as he finally understood how Luna saw herself. It sadened him to see how little she thought of herself.

"Markus answered that question better than I ever could. Luna your life is a gift. Do not be so hasty to throw it away." Marylyn softened. She knew, only to well, the feeling of wanting to protect those she loved. Wanting desperately to save the day, so they didn't have to waste their lives trying to.

Luna fell silent, looking away. Her life was hers to choose her paths. "But...I..." her shoulders were slumped. Did they really feel that way, even though they had known her for so little time?

"Luna," Marylyn murmured, her tone growing more authoritative. "Your life is yours to do what you will. All I ask is that you consider all options and consequences before you come to a decision." Marylyn turned to walk away. "I do not give you my blessing to run off and in my opinion commit suicide. However if that is the choice you wish to make I will not halt your passage." Marylyn walked of briskly, her eyes closed.

Luna turned, closing her eyes. This had turned into a huge mess. She ran her hands through her hair, her fingers shaking. She had no words.

Haldir sprinted to Marylyn's side, his expression wild with angst and fear. He drew her close, and whispered frantically into her ear. Marylyn's expression grew grave swiftly. With a quick nod, she marched back to her army. Haldir ran off with swift determination. Marylyn bowed her head sadly. "We are under attack." She spoke quietly, her hands trembling. "We are to report to the eastern boundary immediately. I must warn you there is a large number..." she swallowed, heavily.

Without prompting, Luna drew her bow and arrows to her and took off at a wild sprint. She wouldn't allow fear in, wouldn't allow herself to be cowed by whatever fate may lay before her.

"Come along," Marylyn turned and took off at a brisk march. As she moved she swung a quiver of arrows on to her back and placed her bow over her shoulder. Her blade lay firmly in her built should the need arise. "I am sorry I could not give you more time to train. Do not fear though. You are ready. You will show these orcs, they are no match for us!"

Markus fell into stride beside Marylyn. "We can do this!" he called to the group, building their morale.

We blue fire already covered her hands as she reached the battle. Her eyes glowing, she lifted an arrow to her bow and took aim, then fired a burning arrow onto the fray. A scream of pain rewarded her efforts, and then she was lost in the battle. She fired arrow after arrow. Uruk-Hai screamed, bursting into blue flames and collapsing.

Soon, she ran out of arrows, and having no sword, she decided on hand to hand. She could feel wounds on her as swords grazed her and slashed at her. But she had no mind for that, as she fought fiercely.

Sirel's sword reflected the light as she whirled around in a deadly dance. Dodging a crudely-made sword, she gasped as she noticed Luna's plight. The other elf was bleeding from numerous wounds, and had no weapon save her hands. Kicking an orc's leg out from under him, Sirel fought towards her companion, desperation clear in her eyes. She dared not call out - a distraction could prove fatal for Luna.

Marylyn lunged into the fray, her sword drawn. Her body moved in a fierce battle with each of opponents. She moved with as much speed and agility that she could muster. A trail of bodies lay in her wake. While she dodged the mangled black blades of her enemies she scanned the crowd. Her troop was holding their own incredibly. She resisted gasping, when her eyes fell on Luna. Almost immediately she wound her way to her.

Markus took to the trees, swinging from branch to branch, moving as one with the battle before him. He fired arrow after arrow into the crowd, barely waiting to hear the squeal of pain that announced his victory. From his height he was able to keep an eye on those he cared about. He dudn't have to worry about Marylyn. She was a lethal weapon, having trained since she was an elfling. His eyes wandered to find Luna and Sirel. His eyes widened to find Luna fighting with only fists for weapons. He grimaced. She was well protected with Sirel beside her. Just then he spotted an Uruk at Sirel's back about to strike. Markus took him down swiftly.
