^ You can't say that a country is dumb because 2 of their leaders in the past wanted to take over the world.
Can you tell me where you're siggy picture is from because I recognise it. It's not Loch Ness is it? Also would you mind reducing it's width to 700 px because it's stretching the board.

As Finland... I have never been there, but I am Finnish. I'm a full-blooded Celt.
Peace Out, Tasare
PS: May I join? No offense, but that is as Elanor said, hey Napoleon wanted to take over the world, so did the romans, so did alexander, but you don`t call them dumb now do ya?... And... *cough* okay... Tasare_Taurewen wrote: As Finland... I have never been there, but I am Finnish. I'm a full-blooded Celt.
You might want to clear this up... cause Finland and celts don`t match

The so called turning points of the war...
Well use google, but what can I say about them based on my own knowledge?
At El Alamein the british troops had been striken back by the "desert fox" field marshall Erwin Rommel, the british had more men, but I think germans surely held the tank quality on their side. Anyway, El Alamein was the last stand in north africa and it would have been disasterous for the britih if the germans had reached Kairo since they would gained the control of the suez canal...
But montgomery and his lads won the battle sending the afrika korps on the retreat...
Stanlingrad was another case, the city was rubble after bombardment and the battle was among the buildings and such. All tough the germans took parts of the city the russians were able to beat them back and this battle turned the tide on the eastern front for the Russians favour.
And
At Midway the use of carriers came first time into greater use as the US navy sank 4 japanese aircraft carriers, the battle gave a blow to the Japanese fleet and turned the tide there as well all tough Americans had never been really pushed all tough Pearl harbour took most of their pacific fleet...

Yeah, just as Elanor said, you CAN'T say all germans are dumb. It's , as in every war, not the fault of the whole nation, but only of a few jerks. Oh, and, by the way, Hitler wasn't even german. He was from Austria.----------------

OMG! What do you learn at school? we're just doing the end of WW1! (Scheidemann and Liebknecht calling out the "Deutsche Republik")

I know basically nothing about the 1st World War. We never learnt anything about it at school and all I know comes from novels set at that time. And the ones that I've read tend either to be about soldiers fighting in the trenches or ordinary people at home dring the war. None of them say much at all about the politics involved or even important battles.

Hmh... some lesser known battles...
Battle of Suomussalmi
USSR sent two divisions towards Oulu to cut Finland in half and so that would force us into a two front war, the soviets conquered the destroyed village of suomusalmi and had no shelter there so next day they advanced. They tried to advance over frozen waters where the finns had retreated, but failed and later on finnish reinforcements took suomusalmi back leaving the two russian divisions in a motti(a surrounded and cut off from each others)
Finnish forces captured a great deal of equipment, some tanks and other things such as anti tank gun and field guns..
the men numbers were about 5 russians against 1 finn all tough we finns said that one of us made for 10 russians...
btw why didn`t anyone ever blame Stalin and USSR for WW2? They were made a pact with Germany and invanded poland at the sametime, Stalin even killed more people in his paranoia than Hitler. 50 million...

well so I`ve heard, but these numbers are inaccurate in every manner since you can`t really tell, but surely he had millions killed so he isn`t any good than Hitler
