Evie frowned as she picked up her board.
"Nah i'm down to the beach, i heared the surf was brillent and is gonna get better, apparently the swells are forming perfect waves" she replied smiling, she glanced at John.
"You wanna come?" she asked pulling out one of his headphones.

"how about riley goes w/ u & John comes w/ me?" Rene suggested. "Then riley won't be bored with skateboarding, & john won't have 2 be bored w/ surf boarding." She raised her eyebrows in a "beat that" sort of way, & turned to John. "sound good?"

Evie looked at Rene, with an unimpressed look on her face.
"Whatever, but if i'm not mistaken, i think John here has surfed before" she replied, she turned round and started to walk away, her bare feet padding silently on the heat soaked pavement.

Rene rolled her eyes. "Whatever." she turned to John. "So, do u wanna go skateboarding or not?"

Evie reached the beach, she tred her way across the sand, the warm sand uner her feet.
She dumped up stuff a little way, she pulled up her wetsuit and zipped it up, before doing a few stretches and grabbing her board of running down to the water's edge and standing to watch.

She stood watching, memories of last years swell returning to her, flashes of her going under, the impact slowly crushing her, she was under for more than a minute, her body grazed by what rocks lay under the depths.
She shook her head to get them out, placed her board on the ground as she did her leesh round her ankle, she then tied her hair up into a pony tail, before picking up her board and running into the sea.

She threw her board onto the water and lay on, slowly paddling out into the deeper waters, where the nigger waves where. She wasn't the only one, she had observed her ex boyfriend Eddie sitting there, he smiled and leaned forward and paddled over to her.
"Hey" he said, she smiled back.
"Hey, been good?" she asked nodding towards a wave that was breaking a little way from them.
He nodded.
"Amazing, i've caught a good few - " he paused and watched her, he remembered the damage last years swell had done to her, and how she hadn't quite recovered, that's why they split, she had started to become paranoid and agaitated.
"Are you sure your ready for this Eve?" he asked, she ignored him, she had already spotted her first wave of the day, she rolled round onto her front, positioning herself she started to paddle, her focus forward, she felt the board lift under the wave, then dip, quickly she pulled upself up, knee's bent, arms out to balance herself, slowly she dropped into the green water, feeling the power of the wave under her; it started to curl into a tunnel, she bent down, leaning slightly onm the front of the board to make it go faster, she reached out, her fingers brushing against the wall of water, she emerged the water breaking behind her, she turned doing a few tricks, the adrenaline rushing through her body, blinking the water out of her eyes, she slowly pulled out and lay flat on her board, paddling out back towards Eddie.

Evie glanced at Eddie, he was still protective of her, she felt that was why the split up, he was mothering her to the extent that she wanted to scream. She pushed a strand of wet hair from her eyes, he turned to face her as he felt her gaze, he smiled but she looked away.
He sighed watching the back of her head, he still loved her, but he knew she didn't, she had greived him and moved on, from her point of view it was his fault that they split, not her's.

He turned away, and spotted the perfect wave, turning at the same time as Evie they both started to paddle, their arms pumping as if they were one, their boards lifted as the swell started to form, they paddled harder, moving to the brink of the wave, it started to curl, the both of them pulled themselves up, almost as if they had spent hours practising.

Evie dropped in perfectly, putting little pressure to the nose of the board, she had this one in the bag, riding it perfectly, the wave broke into White water, she felt the strength of it behind her, as it gathered speed; she jerked the board suddenly trying to do a 90 degree turn, she smashed into Eddie's board, both of them overbalancing, toppling into the water, the surge envoloping them, both went under, their boards pulling them along as the impact pushed them furtsher under.

There was a sudden jerk as the cord to Evie's board snap, she could make out her board flying away through the water, she looked up seeing the sun, she let out a stream of bubles through her nose as she swan towards the surface.
She swam back to the shore, closly followed by Eddie who still had his board; she was fuming, she walked along the sand, picking up her board, she turned round to face him, her temper rising.
"Thanks Eddie, thanks for ruining that experience for me!" she yelled, she turned on her heel and walked back up towards where she had left her bag.
