[font=verdana] I've seen many movies and watched many gory battle scenes, but Helm's Deep seems to be the best one ever. Forget the fact that they have really cool, SWOOSHY swords and really accurate, TWANGY bows and REALLY, REALLY good-looking Elves on their defense. It's just plain cool.

I quite like that battle scene. I think it is probably the best one though the one at the beginning and at the end do come close. Helm's Deep was pretty cool... and though Haldir showing up wasn't in the book it was a nice erm... touch. Not the killing part XD

Oh gosh yes, I thought Helm's Deep was quite amazing both in the book and the movie. The detail Tolkien gave was incredible and what it turned out to be on the screen was just as good. I was slightly disappointed with the arrival of the Elves but other than that it was one of the most beautifully choreagraphed points of the movie.

I feel sorry for the extras shooting it though, it looked like a lot of hard work for everyone in it.
The way he described it in the book was fantastic and the artwork in the book is wonderful.

I agree with that! Helm's Deep was really good and it was well done. I haven't reached that part in the book yet but I can't wait to get there!

I think Helm's Deep is the best... tied with Pellennor Fields. I can't decide!!

Yep. Thats the same for me. Helms Deep or Pelennor Fields.
I think I'm leaning more towards Pelennor Fields though. DEAD PEOPLE!

I think Helm's Deep is quite good in both books and movies but I don't think I can decide between Helm's Deep and Pellenor Fields.

I prefer Helms Deep, it has a lot more emotion and symbolism than Pellenor Fields.

I wouldn't say Helm's Deep is the best battle of all time, but it is one of the best, maybe even beating ROTK's battles. Legolas and Gimli had more roles in this one; so maybe that's why I like it so much. Legolas and Gimli are my favorite pair. [/i]
