"Oh, right. That's rather...cheery," Frela trailed off, not wanting to delve into Shales apparently dark past. Now that he mentioned it, she could hear the faint clanging of bronze bells somewhere just behind them. It was accompanied by a farmyard smell, faintly reminiscent of her infrequent trips to littly hamlets ouside of the great forest. "What is that?" she asked.

(yyyeaah, aboot them typos: I try not to correct myself when I make minor typing errors; it inhibits the flow of writing. tha t was just a bad day. But you caught the Latin. And, ID, who is finally here, the farmyard animals were food/ filler so you could post. I just wanted to keep a thumbprint in the post so it didn't die :swoon: .)

Silently cursing his idiocy at not cutting the bells off of the goats (or are they Goats? Dagnabbit, Mor, it's that bloody banner o' yourn!), Njorilk slaughtered one of the kids as a gift to the travelers. Had they approached him, he would've expected an offering of the same sort.

(Are we friends? enemies? odd alliances? and are we ever going to meet? I have little-to-no idea what the jive-turkey i'm doin' heah.)

(Don't know up to you, though the choices are friend or foe, and if not now latter on you will join our party.)

Shale wipped around and in a swish of cloak a dagger was found through the throat of a young goat kid...(...This is for you to pick up on...)

After gawking for a moment, Frela burst out, "Is that really necessary? If he were actually intending to do us harm, he wouldn't be dragging along half a pen of farm animals!" She moved Shale's dagger from the stranger's throat and addressed him, "Now tell me, who are you and what do you want?"
