Andy actually never did motion capture for that scene (not even climbing on a flat surface) - Gollum climbing down the rock was entirely made in the CG-department, one of the very few Gollum scenes Andy didn't do motion capture for.

I'm talking about the scene of Herbs and Stewed rabbit.
I have actually set it up now if you wanna go discuss that amazing scene.

No need to get hostile, Frodos-Guide. I also first got confused and misinterpreted your post as setting up another thread for the scene which this thread deals with. It wasn't until I read the last part of the first page that I realized you were talking about a different scene.

Sorry! I misunerstood you. It happens sometimes. I am very sorry though. The Herbs and Stewed rabbit scene is a good one, and perhaps I will pop over into the other thread.
Gollum: Well, I loathe Gollum mostly. He scares me more than any other LOTR villain because you think he's good, but really he is evil. Treacherous. With Sauron, at least you know he's youe enemy. Gollum uses deceit to get close to you, but betrays you and uses you. Also, I know it didn't happen in the book, but I HATED him whenever he broke up Frodo and Sam, on the stairs to Cirith Ungol. I wanted to tear him limb from limb after that scene. However, he does have a good side in Smeagol. I believe that the Smeagol half really does care about Frodo during a brief span where Smeagol is not controlled by Gollum. And after all, he did have a part to play before the end. Without him, the Ring might never have been destroyed. So, even Gollum has his merits.

I actually feel sorry for Gollum. He can't help himself, he didn't choose to become this person, the ring made him into what he is. He also helped Sam and Frodo get to Mordor, who knows where they would have ended up without him. Yes he somewhat manipulated Frodo's mind a bit but we don't know that wouldn't have happened anyways without Gollum's presence, the ring is a powerful thing afterall!

Yeah, but he wasn't the nicest person in the world before the Ring corrupted him, eh?

I guess not but i believe that he murdered Deagol mainly due to the fact that the power of the ring corrupted him as soon as he set eyes on it. The whole beggining of FOTR shows the loving character if Smeagol, although i do believe he's utterly adorable during the PO-TAT-OES scene lmao.
I love it!
Also, not to mention the fact that this scene shows how hot Elijah is

^Yes! <3 Elijah!
And even before the Ring, wasn't he kind of creepy? He was always looking down and going into dirt..and stuff. It doesn't seem like he was too...erm, happy? Normal? He was kninda weird even before the Ring, I think.

Ohh yeah Elijah
Haha but at least Smeagol was nice and stuff before he had the ring. Until he killed Deagol that is.
