*cough* I haven't been much around lately. School claimed all of my time before Christmas and now a detrimental cold (aka coughing, sore throat and head ache) has settled on my Christmas break - lovely! This is actually one of the few places I post these days (Kudos to the Nazgûl).

I was watching RotK last night and was wondering again... why is it that everybody thinks the Witch King is so cool? He doesn't even have a cool oneliner like: "Kill them all - leave none alive" (Note: I've only seen the Eragon preview once, but isn't that cool, lol)..

I never felt it... the almighty evilness... the scene in FotR where the Nazgûl chase the hobbits is way cooler... in the sending-chills-down-my-spine-"say-Mufasa-again"-*shudder*-kind-of-way!!
Also I watched the original version so the Witch King only got his 5 minutes of fame before he was miserably slain by a little girl and a halfling. Most impressive about him is that he can handle his mace with left hand, but even that didn't look too spectacular..
*expects to be lynched by WK fans*

Excuse me Kit, did you mention sexy and Witch King in the same sentence?

Yes, Ea. I did. ROTK glorified Eowyn's whole battling thing. They didn't emphasize enough on the fact that Merry's the one that made it possible for Eowyn to slay the Witch King in the first place.

Then you could say the WK in general gets way too little time on air in the original version. You could actually say he is only put in the plot so that the little girl could become a heroine and do her rites of passage to become a woman.
But one thing that always bothered me is that Gandalf never gets a chance to duel with the WK. They're close in the EE before the WK flies off to show off and do his "No man can kill me"-speech...

That's true, but Witchy did get the opportunity to break Gandalf's staff... Gandalf's staff seems to be way too easily taken away from him.

*whispers* Also the way it was made in the movie, it looked almost as if Gandalf was afraid of the Witch King. But the fact is that the Witch King never gets to do, perform, act really evilly... even the One Ring has a more eerie feeling to it...

I was afraid of the Witch King. D; Especially in Minas Morgul when he was flying over Frodo, Sam and Gollum. That was hot. xD

But we did see the Witch King in FOTR when he pierces Frodo with the Morgul Blade. That was pretty darn cool, if not very bright. o.O
