Like I said, they're a bit lazy. Go read some Edgar Allan Poe short stories if you want originality, and then go read Sherlock Holmes and other stories of the period.

I've read most of the Edgar Allen Poe short stories, and Sherlock Holmes doesn't really interest me. I'll just have to sit back and wait for an orginal flm or book to come out, eating pink evil cookies :-D

Not really that hard, you just have to get used to the style.

I know. It's kind of annoying, really, there's no new material to get your teeth into. 'Oh, that bit's like LotR, and that bit's from Harry Potter, I think....' Everything is so repetitive. Why doesn't someone have a completely original idea?

Wheel of Time is pretty original. I can see a few similarities between it and other things, but not nearly as many as with other fantasy stories. I love those books now - odd, since I started reading them to prove the critic people wrong. They said Jordan began to "dominate the world Tolkien began to reveal" and I was like nuh uh! So I read them to try and prove them wrong.

Ooh, I need a fell beast too! Hm, I wonder what his name will be. I rather like the name Mordeth for an evil name.
