I'm too selfish to commit suicide so my friends would live forever. And I don't think I'd want to live forever anyway...

I could get into a huge sermon on this, but to sum it up I think immortality is a curse instead of a blessing. Life is only enjoyable when it's finite, because only then can we not take it for granted.

Commiting suicide will only lead you to one place...down.

And I agree with LDM, immortality has advantages and disadvantages. It'll seem unbearable if you have to wander the Earth till the end of time alone.

I prefer Mortality because it'll help you appreciate life more because any moment might be your last. You could die at any minute so I guess it goes with the expression: "Live life to the fullest."

Aww, no sermon? :-D

Immortality= not fun. That's the master equation. Sure, it would be fun at first, until you get shot and won't die but feel the pain.

Well, it depends on your view of immortality. Could you die by blade (well, you know what I mean)?

I don't really know. I always thought if you were immortal, you couldn't die from anything.

Nah, think of the Elves. They are immortal but they can die from the blade or a broken heart. They just can't die of old age.

Life becomes empty without the ever-looming threat of death is my philosophy. There's no aspiration there, no overwhelming need to accomplish something in the 75 years you're alive. And in the end, when life becomes unbearable from your own self-illusion that you've accomplished nothing, what will it be? Suicide?

Yes, but that's Tolkien's version of immortal. There are also other ways different writers and directors see immortality.

^True very true. That's just the way I think of immortality.

Tis why I said, depends on your view of immortality.
