Rachel gripped Mark's had, grateful for a guide. "Thank you." she said, following him to the tunnel. She gagged at the stench. Without having sight, her other senses had grown more keen. That wasn't something she needed right now. She put one hand to her nose, trying to block out the worst of the smells.

"You're a brave person Hannah, i know you are, you can do this." he said holding her from behind in a hug. "You're so brave"

Hannah was standing looking down as she felt Kai's arms around her. She had to think of the safe times and her family. Tears ran down her face again. She looked up. Her long blonde hair hung into her face, dirthy and bloody. She forced a brave smile to Kai, but it was a sad one. She looked down into the tunnel again. "Mom...Dad...I'll do this" she whispered to herself. "I'll do it for you...yes...I promise...I won't give up." She slowly took another step forward to the tunnel. "I'll make it..."

"Thats rights, keep going..." he dropped back a pace and lowered his voice. "Look kid she knows that but we all have our limits, she's got to get through them and then she'll be fine. For god sake its not as if she was Belladonna or something....oh sorry, my sister, complete nutter." then he turned back to Hannah.

(sorry should have said this earlier, Belladonna Allen was the half sister of Kai. She thought he was dead, he thinks she died with his familly.)

“Belladonna?!” Roy gasped, suddenly coming to a halt. “You... you know Belladonna?”

“Knew, would be more the word,” Ariel said sourly, “She’s obviously not with us anymore, and if not dead now, will be soon.”

Ariel had struck a tender spot on Roy: the fact that he couldn’t save everyone. He gritted his teeth, and his head dropped, as he fought back the need for tears. Ariel looked on in scorn. He began walking again, but his face was tense as he vainly tried to conceal his emotion.

Hannah kept going through the dark tunnel. "Keep going" she continued saying to herself. "Keep going." Then she looked back to the others. Hannah looked into Mark's face, seeing that he was crying. She slowly went back to him and put her hand on his shoulder, very concious and trembling. "Hey..." she began carefully. "What's wrong? What happened?"

"Sure there is," Ariel mocked, "...of course, there's a twenty foot sea monster hiding in the sewer, it's allied with the bigfoot outside."

Under her breath she muttered, "Loser," and kept on walking, pushing ahead of Roy.

Roy tore his gaze away from the little boy, his eyes burning with the need to mourn all the death he had seen today. But they didn't have time to mourn, to grieve for those who hadn't made it. Roy stepped back and extended a hand to Jimmy, now covered in a rather undesirable substance. He ignored Ariel's harsh comment, and said weakly to Jimmy, "There's nothing down there. It's the smell, chemicals and... all this. It messes with your head."

Kai grabbed Mark roughly "What do you mean 'knew her', look are we talking about the smae person here? Belladonna Allen, the arrogant, fasinating, brave and compleatly bonkers excuse for a woman?" he saw the truth in Marks eyes and let go of him. "I thought she had died with my parents. He turned his blue eyes back to Mark. "We don't have the luxtuary of time, but you shall tell me how she...died." He said, it was more of a command than a request.
