Usually people say that you have to date someone before you can love them, because that's how you get to know each other. Umm...don't you get to know someone when they're you're freind?
I third that! I think it's really important to get to know a guy frist before going out on a date. I think in the long run, it's better for the relationship.

Yeah, I think so as well. I think that's where I went wrong over all this time.

It's ok...there are many other oppotunities. I just had to break up with my last boyfriend because he didn't really respect that fact that I wanted to get to know him first. I feel bad, but I had to stick to my morals.

^Yeah, its a comforting thought. I'm fairly young and have many years ahead of me with many choices and opportunities.
I agree. Morals are very important. They are what governs us, guides us, influences us. They are the most important concept in my life besides my freedom to do what I wish with my life. Without morals, the world would have fallen to chaos many years ago.

So, do you guys have any teachers that treat guys differently than girls? Gives either one or the other advantages, or soemthing of the like?
I know I do.
Informatics professor. He's a chauvinist when it comes to women, in his opinion we're all retarded young ladies who do naught but dream of getting new nail polishes. Lovely man, one might say.

^oh wow.
That's...dumb.
As Mornie said, we have a teacher in our school who treats girls much better than guys. He's a creepy, moustach-ridden, 50-soemthing year old History teacher called Mr.Marshall.
Most girls hate him just because he really gets TOO nice with girls, and is a lot harsher on guys...it's...ewww....

^You told me about him. Sounds quite creepy.
Sexist teachers... I had a couple of those. I had an English teacher in eighth grade that had a position in our class called "editors" and basically what the editors do was gather up all of the essays that we wrote and make a book out of it. And then we would get thousands of these books that usually end up in trash. I don't want to know how many trees had to die because of that. But anyways, he would always pick girls to be editors. Not like the guys really cared about making books out of boring essays but the editors were exempt from taking the vocabulary quizzes that he had. But I think that was about it.

My, that is quite creepy. I had a Woman teacher who was sexist to all the boys. Whenever they would goof off, hard punishment. Except if another girl was goofing along with them. But, if the girls giggled a bit, she would just giggle with them. No pink slips or chalk-board writings. I was her more favored student but I often asked her to take it easy on the boys. Hey, boys will be boys, Mrs. Fugate! Give 'em a break! My female class-mates would concur. She was cranky all the time too.

My ex bio teacher (elem. school, 5-9th grade), who was a woman, hated girls and always gave better grades to guys. She esp. hated me but I've no clue why

7th grade, there was this one man called mr. tillman...he was okay, but sometimes he went overboard, he called all the girls by the first name and every boy by their last name, but either contemptuously or indifferently, what most impressed me is that he loooooved giving out detentions, and (at least in my class) 90% would go to the poor guys....not that they were super rough or annoying either....

I dunno... the girls in the class, including me, thought she was joking around and we thought it was funny. The guys would get really ticked off though. I think some transfered out of the class because of it. It's interesting though... no one complained to the principal about the teacher in question.

Ouch, thank God, it didn't break. Really I don't know why teachers are biased towards girls or boys. It doesn't make much sense to me.

it wouldnt have mattered to me, i might have felt sorry. I think that teachers are biased for their typical likings. Such as our English teacher has a better liking toward baseball players cause he is the baseball coach.

[color=white]Good question Frostie.. it probably has something to do with that particular teachers past experiences with the opposite gender [or the gender they seem biased towards]. That scenario would definitely make sense concerning one of my teachers from last year. She had just been divorced and I think that may have been a factor in why she was so biased towards boys.
