Yeah, I think that I'll try to play the vilain and not screw things up too much. Unless you desperatly want the role, pirateoftherings, then I'll play just the Capt of the Guard.

I'm not going to force you out of a role, no, but I would also hate for you to play someone you're not comfortable with. As I said, I do have experience with playing the cultured villain, so it wouldn't be terribly difficult for me to take on that role. You're free to play the ambassador if you really want to, but phrases like "I'll try not to screw things up too much" don't exactly come across as very confident. If you're more confident taking the role of Captain of the Guard, then I'd recommend taking that role. If you're more confident with the role of the Ambassador, it's all yours. I just need to know because it will determine who my other character is.

okay, then you can play the ambassador. The only time I'm used to 'playing' the villian is in the books I'm trying to write, but then I control everything and know what the plotline is, so its not really then same thing.
I'll play Capt of the Guard unless Amoniel really wants to, and then I'll play another Jedi.

*peeks around corner and is relieved not to see blood and gore*
thanks for settling, y'all. The Doctor had the first claim on the Captain - I really think you'll be able to do a good job. If you wanted experience as a baddie, there are mercenaries and evil aides up for grabs, for a second or even third charrie.
Amoniel, I think you'd be awesome as a political figure. Since the government is a monarchy, there aren't senators, but you could be a noble advisor, a minister of something or other, or an aide (kind of like a politician in training).
The reason I delayed the start time is that I want to write a good first post and I can't while I have an exam hanging over my head. Thanks!

An aide sounds cool. I'll be that!
Name: Karina Schoen
Age: 22
Gender:
Home Planet: Imadi
Rank: Aide
Weapon: blaster (if ever needed)
Appearance: about 5'6, with brown curly hair, and dark brown eyes
Bio: Karina was born in Imadi where her father was a Noble Advisor to the Queen of the times. Her mother raised her mostly alone and homeschooled her. It was always her dream to become a Jedi but she later lost senses in her left hand so it is mostly not use-able. Her dreams of ever becoming a Jedi were shattered. Karina's father died when she was 20 and when she was 21 her mother died.
She is currently working as an aide to the queen. Karina is hard working and determined to be the best. She completes every task that is given to her. She is working her way up to becoming a Noble Advisor to the Queen of something higher ranked.
Karina strongly believes in the Queen's monarchy.

Alright, finally getting my bio up.
Name: Rydina Corcsamu
Species: Chiss
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Appearance: Long blue-black hair to her waist, blue skin, penetrating black eyes. She often wears pants for better mobility, but sometimes wears more formal garb (as when in negotiations with high ranking officials).
Occupation: Jedi (you may not want to trust her though)
History: Rydina was one of the few trainees Luke Skywalker found while traveling looking for members for his Jedi Academy. She had little love for the New Republic when it started, and she didn't feel much any way about the Empire (she was rather young when it fell). Governments aren't her thing. She was related to the Empire's Grand Admiral Thrawn; his death brought about hatred for the New Republic. She works in it, but her motives aren't exactly great.
Personality: She has a sharp tounge, is cynical and sarcastic, but when she wants can make you believe she's sweeter than honey.

OOC: The Capt' of the Guard can be from a different family than Viridan, right? Valera, I hope you don't mind, but I made up a little info for the Seros house.
Well, any way, here is my bio:
***
Name: Xanzi (prenounced Zan-zee) Seros
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Family: Seros
Homeworld: Imadi
Appearence: His features are sharp and angular, and his posture ram-rod straight at most times, except when other people can see him. Xanzi wears a trim, white military uniform with golden trim around the neck and cuffs and a black sash crossing from his left shoulder and ending at his right hip. The white represents his house, House Seros, and the black represents the Queen's house, House Viridan, to whom he is a bodyguard. Xanzi's eyes are a dark brown, which matches his hair, which is almost the exact same shade of brown.
Personality: Xanzi is honorable and will always try to do the right thing, regardless of the consequences, unless it will put the Queen in danger. He is fericely loyal, and will never betray either his house, House Viridan, or a friend.
History: Xanzi was born at the start of the Empire's occupation of Imadi. All Seros children are trained from birth to be good fighters, but Xanzi really put himself into the training and excelled at it. He joined a resistance movement before he reached the legal age of twenty, because the Empire took his brother away from their family as soon as he turned twenty. Xanzi is partly responsible for the death of the current Queen's parents, as the resistance movement that he was part of helped stage the failed uprising that got them killed. He now serves as the Captian of the Queen's Guard, and thinks of it partially as an atonement for the pain that he has caused her family, but he never speaks of it.
Weapons: His family has always practiced archaic traditions like sword fighting, and that was always a particular skill of Xanzi's, so he always wears a vibroblade (with cortossis weave so it can stop lightsabers) at his left hip, though he rarely uses it, prefering to take opponents down before they can reach him. His fighting style is supprisingly similar to the Jedi style called Soresu, but the Seros family calls it Granshi. He has a DC-55 blaster pistol on his right hip. He has a few other vibroknives hidden on his person. Xanzi insists that Queen Justyna III trains dialy in marksmanship and self-defense. The style of self-defense is called Gnarr-mok. (This is like the current day style of Tae Kwon Do, which focuses on powerful kicks and staying out of the opponents reach. The reason that I'm using that martial arts style is I know it.)

Also, if you don't mind, I'd like to play a merc, but I have his bio on a different computer right now, so I'll post it tomorrow if thats okay with you, Valera

((Ach...I was going to work on my bios this afternoon and post them tonight, but I had a job interview scheduled at the last second, and then we had a tornado here tonight (didn't directly hit my house, but I spent a majority of my evening either out watching the storm or getting ready to run into the closet...the funnel did go directly over us), so my schedule for the day has been pretty much shot. Is it okay if I get my bios up tomorrow afternoon? I'd do them now, but it's 11:30 and I've had a long day. ))

lol, potr. I understand ... it's some obscenely late hour and I still have homework to do. I promise first post will be sometime tomorrow night. So it's totally okay if your bios are up by tomorrow afternoon.
Awesome bios, everybody, great detail. I tried to give y'all background to work with but just enough so you can develop it yourselves, as long as it isn't contradictory.
Amoniel, just one issue: a government aide would probably be from Imadi - Naboo is slightly random. And could she be an aide to the queen? - it would get her more directly involved in the plot.
Okay, sweetness. I'm looking forward to this.

Okay, here is the bio for my merc:
***
Name: Karrok Methinas
Species: Mandalorian
Gender: Male
Age: 37
Family: Deceased
Homeworld: Dantooine
Appearence: Abnormally tall with a height almost reaching to 6’ 8”, he has the lean, well-toned body of an athlete, not the sculpted body of a weight lifter. His eyes are a pale green and his hair is cut short and a dark red color. Karrok wears vintage Mandalorian battle armor, passed down through his family since the Mandalorian War over three thousand years ago. The armor has been modified and enlarged or shrunk to fit the current user, but the appearance has remained the same all these years; not the bullet-shaped helmet made famous by Boba Fett, but a helmet that integrates seamlessly with the body armor but it still has a T-shaped visor. (Think KOTR Mando armor for those of you who have the game, but with a visor the size of Fett's. A link to a picture at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mandalorians.)
Personality: Raised to despise weakness, Karrok will do whatever it takes to get on top, killing anyone who gets in his way. Karrok prefers to work alone, but will work in a group if it suits him. However, after the task is accomplished and before they get the reward for their job, he almost always tries to eliminate all of his ‘partners’ so he gets all of the money.
History: While he was born on Dantooine, he only lived there for the first year or two of his life and then he lived on a starship, traveling from starsystem to starsystem, learning his current trade from his parents. Karrok started fighting alongside his parents at the age of thirteen, the Mandalorian ‘adult’ age. After another five or six years of working as mercenaries for the highest bidder, Karrok and his family settled down on Dantooine once again. After only a few months, someone raided their settlement, leaving Karrok the only survivor. He now blames both the New Republic and the Empire; if the Empire destroyed his family, then why didn’t the New Republic defend them and visa versa. Karrok modified his armor to fit him and upgraded the systems with state-of-the-art equipment. Now he does the only thing he knows how, being a mercenary.
Weapons: He has multiple weapons and explosives on equipment belts all over his person. His main weapons are a BlastTech E-24 blaster rifle and a BlasTech DL-57 blaster pistol. His main explosive ordinance are thermal detonators, bother the normal and the miniature versions.
Armor: Karrok’s helmet is by far the most expensive piece of equipment on his body, and the most durable. It operates by eye flicks and blinks and can bring up information from any of his ships systems or his own vital signs quite easily. The other advantage of his helmet is that it provides a 360 degree field of vision that allows Karrok to see what is going on around him at all times, but it can be distracting at times so he usually has it turned off. His actual body armor can stop many blaster bolts before becoming useless, but it cannot stop a lightsaber or a vibroblade very easily.
Ship: Karrok’s ship, the Virago, was actually salvaged from the ruins of Prince Xizor’s starhook above Coruscant. He modified it so that the heavy-grade power engines are more durable and require less maintenance. (link to picture of ship and weapons info at: http://www.starwars.com/databank/starsh ... index.html)

Hope you like him.

Okay, bio at last.
Name: Ambassador Rina Natasi, House of Viridan
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 40
Family: Viridan
Homeworld: Imadi
Appearance: Features similar to Queen Justyna's; straight, platinum blonde hair (almost always swept up in some fashion, rather than worn long); dark blue eyes
Dress: Usually dark colors, though very rarely all black; prefers clothing that is stylish while still maintaining practicality
Weapons: A small blaster for self-defense that is concealed in her clothing at all times and a sharp wit.
Personality: Not particularly aggressive, but decidedly outspoken. She prefers straightforward action to complicated deceit and duplicity, but she'll also do whatever is necessary to maintain her reputation, even at the cost of others. She is fiercely loyal to Imadi, though she feels that some of its traditions are outdated and the planet would benefit from exposure to the New Republic. She will do anything to see this happen.
History: Rina was her parents' only child and was raised on Imadi before the Empire was formed. Her father was the king's younger brother, and so she still enjoyed many of the privileges of the royal family, including a well-rounded education. Rina was about 10 years old when Palpatine was made Emperor, and she was 23 when the uprising occured. Fearing for their lives, she and her parents attempted to flee Imadi, but her parents were killed in the process. It was then that Rina's hatred for the Empire was kindled, and when the opportunity arose several years later, she joined the Rebel Alliance, doing odd jobs here and there, but never fought in any major battles. When the New Republic emerged after the deaths of Palpatine and Vader, Rina moved to Coruscant and began to grow increasingly active in the political scene. When it was determined that an ambassador should be sent to Imadi, Rina was naturally the first choice.
I also have a second character that I'm going to be bringing in, but I'm still undecided. I can either bring in another Jedi or a mercenary (I have a bio for each), but we already have several of both. Any preferences?

(Woot, first post! Apologies for length. I think we've hit the max on Jedi, so a mercenary is probably the best choice.)
"Thank you for your words, Ambassador Natasi. Unfortunately, a continuation of this dialogue must wait until tomorrow, when we reconvene this council." Justyna spoke easily, with all the practiced ambiguity of a seasoned politician. She'd acquired it through a long seven years of settling gubanatorial disputes and managing territorial aid, and it looked like she would need every bit of her careful diplomacy now. "I must say that I am encouraged by the direction in which our talks are proceding." Filler words; they didn't mean anything, and the ambassador probably knew it - it was all part of the game. She continued, jaded to the presence of the hovering holocams that were recording this meeting for the archives. "I think I speak for all Imadi when I say that we look forward to further developing our ties with the New Republic." Picking up the traditional officiator's rod, bound in silver and tipped with jade, Justyna rapped it twice on the conference table. The hollow thumps echoed back from the high walls and domed ceiling, punctuating the end of that day's business. "I, Justyna Regina, Third of House Viridan, declare this meeting adjourned." She smiled, perhaps the first real smile she had delivered all day. "I would not want to delay us from our meal. Ambassador Natasi, in honor of your arrival, we have prepared a traditional High Supper. We must return to the palace and don more appropriate attire for celebration - it has been long since a representative of a galactic Republic favored our halls - and from among our own people, as well."
The queen's aides, efficient and dignified, had the various datapads and access nodes packed away in two blinks of an eye. Elite guards of Justyna's private detail left their posts around the large conference room, ready to escort the royal and ambassadorial retinues for the short walk across the central plaza to the Ekateryna Palace. As they exited the doors of the marble administrative complex - a palace in its own right - the queen quietly took stock of the little party. There were her aides, of course, and advisors, foreign minister, and guards. The ambassador's companions were slightly more interesting, including the usual aides and private security escorts, but also several Jedi, revivals of an ancient order. She had heard much about them, but never actually seen one in person. It would be interesting to actually have a normal conversation with one... In the meantime, there was quite a crowd of Imadi in the plaza - here to see their queen and the ambassador, no doubt. Imadi took a personal interest in politics.
Occupied with these thoughts, Justyna barely had time to note that they were in the middle of the plaza before a guard yelled a warning and cannoned into her, bringing them both to the ground with Justyna underneath. She would have objected, quite enthusiastically, had it not been for the vitrolic sizzle of blaster bolts ripping through the air.
* * * * *
Jasson Xereb bit back a yelp of surprise as the air flashed a fluorescent red about them. A sniper on a roof - that he was sure of. As a sure-shot himself, he recognized a colleague - in the vaguest sense of the word - when he witnessed their work. The Jedi and queen's guards had the ambassador covered, so the New Republic lieutenant was free to drop to the marble plaza floor and search for the source. There, at his four o'clock. The angle was difficult, and the sniper himself had good cover. As soon as the thought had crossed his mind, his sidearm was in his hand and aimed. Lying there on the ground, head half-raised, right wrist braced in his left hand, he took three or four shots; good, but futile.
A military police speeder rushed by overhead. At least Imadi emergency response seemed to be relatively quick - but the sniper would most likely go to ground instead of remaining on the rooftops. And in the same moment, Jasson realized that the deadly bolts were not directed at the queen, but at the ambassador.
The brief shots stopped. A few of the guards were down, but that wasn't his concern. It was time to go. Rolling to his feet, Lieutenant Jasson Xereb set off at a run through the unfamiliar streets of the capital, dodging shocked Imadi who were only just realizing what those shots had been.

Xeric Tan and Ashay Yaien whipped out there lightsabers, exotic movements flashing the aqua, purple and veridean blades in egstravagent paterns that resembled a dance more than combat.
"Ashay! Stay here and protect the queen!" Xerik yelled as Ashay began to break away and go after teh shooters herself.
"But I can take him!" Ashay insisted, slapping another blaster bolt out of the air.
"Our orders are to protect the queen, that is our first responsability." Xerik reminded her, spinning his blade in a fan shaped ark that sent several blaster bolts flying away.

Rydina threw a contemptuous glance at Ashay as her own blue lightsaber extended with a hiss. She wasted little time thinking about the apprentice, though, as her eyes scanned the streets and the rooftops. Mentally cursing her lack of movable clothing, Rydina tossed her cloak over one shoulder and shifted on her feet. Her senses tingled as she reached out to everything around her. A slight movement over her right shoulder brushed her consciousness, and she spun, deflecting the approaching blast.
