Pippin screamed the moment he heard the word "Wolves" and the growling of the wolves from behind. Merry let out a little shriek, but he was more memorable in the fact that he burst into laughter when he heard Pippin scream. He didn't really believe the fact that there was a wolf, apparenly. That is, he didn't believe it until a wolf turned to attack them, and Ruth Ann slay it right in front of them.
"You know," Ruth Ann said and the wolf dropped to the ground in front of them, "Screaming will only give away your position. Laughing the same, and the giving away of your positiion is something an adventurer should not be very fond of."
