(For all FR fans, a basic idea of the world would be good to have. We begin at Luskan)

Map Of Faerun:

http://koti.mbnet.fi/~cerberus/kuvat/fo ... 20full.jpg

The Plot:

All convicted, guilty or not, for crimes in the city of Luskan and only one night away from being taken before the masses to be executed. All of the prisoners spend their night however they chose to, some resting, some pondering and the rest thinking of a way to escape. Funny enough you might not expect to get a helping hand from the authorities of Luskan, now would you?

Characters:

Name: Crove
Age: 123 years (appears to be around 25)
Gender: Male
Race: Half/Wild-Elf

Equipment/Clothing: Brown long jacket(usually open) over his brown pants, shirt and vest, boots and brown gloves. He wears three belt, one on his waist and two around his shoulder, all of them have scrolls, potions and small darts on them. He carries a short sword for self protection, but dislikes using it and only uses it in emergency's. He has, but one accessory and that is rarely seen as he keeps it hidden away in his pocket, an amulet of Mask, the god of thieves whom he rarely prays to. The amulet has an icon of a mask on it as the god`s name suggests.

Appearance: Long dark brown hair that are pony tailed, somewhat slim build, bluish eyes and sharp facial features, goatee ( http://www.montecook.com/images/BORL_guttermage.jpg )

Personality: Mainly calm and rather bitter attitude towards others, but sometimes in and out of battle he gives into his madness, which has notably gotten him into fights and a lot of trouble. The source of his madness supposedly traces back to an unfortunate experiment with magic and summoning.
Skills/Abilities: Crove is a somewhat talented sorcerer, he has spent many years into learning to control his powers all tough many(especially mages) might describe him as reckless.

History:

Crove might have been thought as a wild half elf at first, but truth is he is more of a high elf for his raising as he only spent a few years with his own wild elf and human parents before they disappeared, abandoning him. It never really moved him or shocked him, but nor did he ever really grow to love his high elven parents. His magical abilities manifested at a rather late age, but yet when he came to discover the possibilities before him he sook the help of the elven mages at first.

They were more than happy to at first start molding the young elf into a proper practitioner of magic, Crove proved to be a difficult student and a person to deal with. So it wasn`t too soon that Crove was directed to another path, less admired by the elves and actually it was more humiliating for Crove as well. He was forced to learn his skills from humans, who arrogantly mocked him for what he was or at least some. Despite all the hardship he excelled well in sorcery and soon left the human teachers as he saw that they could not offer him anything more.

So he returned to his home, but upon returning he found a welcoming committee waiting for him, lead by the mages, his former teachers. They blamed him of heresy and some sort of violations, claiming that he was `impure` to walk on the elven lands. They also hinted that his origin had smething to do with it as he was never one of the sun/high elves. Crove was not upset, not at all he was over joyed that he had been `exiled` and left for the north so seek whatever a young man would want. Glory, fame and power, but unfortunately his trail has left many dead along it and all due to his own madness. When he came north he traveled along the sword coast as the mage of a merchant ship, helping to defend it against pirates yet as soon as he got to Luskan he departed.

In Luskan he became a spell caster for hire and adopted a more roguish style of clothing as he had always worn robes before that. He was involved in many deals and killings involving magic or magicians, in order to extend his own power further as he gained a few coin. Unfortunately he was caught for his latest kill as he killed a mage of the guild that looks over Luskan.

------------------------

Name: Kiana
Age: 90 years old... appears to be 20
Gender: Female
Race: Moon-elf
Equipment/Clothing: Tunic dress with leggings, belt with sword, knee high brown riding boots, bow and arrows and a dagger
Appearance: Long wavy blck hair, slim build, bright green eyes and high cheek bones, pale skin
Personality: quiet and sharp. She is very sarcastic and critical
Skills/Abilities: strong fighter, some magic
Weapons: sword, dagger, bows and arrows, intelligence
History: Coming Soon

------------------

Name: Arielle Merced
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Home (in the loosest sense of the word): Neverwinter
Appearance: Dramatic features, dark eyes and hair that contrast with white skin. Lithe, dangerous, non-conformist, and short-tempered. Tends to be cynical.
Weapons: Longbow and dirk, although she has also been known to throw chairs, on occasion.
History: Currently on her own, due to family difficulties. Had a mercenary stint for several years, has spent the last two months in a Luskan jail due to her current employer having actively differing views from that of the government.
Other: Minor fire-skills that she learned when serving a mage. However, anything beyond hand-fire taxes her strength greatly, and is therefore not usually worth it.

-------------

Name: Jada Cobaltin
Age: 21
Race: Human, formerly of a nomadic desert tribe
Gender: Female
Occupation: Scribe, or more accurately, posing as a scribe

Weapons: Since fleeing her tribe (see History) she has always carried a dagger in her belt at the very least, and upon journeying anywhere takes a scimitar, which she knows fairly well how to use but is not a master of by any stretch of the imagination.

Appearance: Dark-haired, dark-skinned, dark-eyed. Rather tall and lanky for a young woman, which aids her in posing as a boy, which she does habitually as women scribes are rather unheard of. And as an added benefit, it keeps her hidden.

Personality: Canny, imperious, essentially rather blunt.

History: Until the age of fourteen Jada was poised to ascend to leadership of her desert tribe, a group of nomadic humans. Her father was the leader at the time, but when he died suddenly Jada found herself in the midst of a power struggle and was nearly burned alive for witchcraft. She fled and now poses as a scribe's apprentice to stay hidden.

Skills: Dabbles in magic, a desert brand of the craft different from most. Is not particularly skilled either here or in weaponry and supports herself on intelligence and a glib tongue.

---------------------------------

Name: Ylera
Gender: Female
Race: Moon-Elf
Age: 294 (appears to be around 25)
Occupation: Healer

Weapons: One small knife, though she doesn't often use it.

Appearance: Ylera is of an average height, not extremely tall but not very short either. She is slender and rather frail looking. She is very pale, her skin almost translucent, and she has waist length, straight silvery blonde hair. Her eyes are light green.

Personality: Quiet and often reclusive, but she is willing to aid anyone she can who seeks her help. She is usually passive and soft spoken, but if angered enough, she is occasionally known to have a biting temper. Though this side of her doesn't often show through her reserved exterior. (This is rather tentative...)

History:.... Hopefully coming soon....

Skills: Her one true calling is in the herbal arts. She is talented at finding rememdies for many ailments. She has no magical abilites, and although she knows how to handle her small hunting knife enought so that she is not utterly defenseless, she is no where near remarkably skilled with it.

------------

Name: Rathnak
Gender: Male
Race: Half-orc
Age: Unknown, looks around 35
Appearance: About six feet tall, very muscular. Black shoulder-length hair, dark eyes. Heavy, rough-looking facial features.
Clothes/weapons: Dark pants, shirt and cloak; leather vambraces and tall boots. He carries a hunting bow and arrows with him, as well as several knives.
Personality: He doesn't trust others easily, prefering to rely on himself. He's normally quiet and reserved.
History: The result of an Orc raping, Raskan was left in the wilderness when he was only a few days old. A group of nomadic Elves found him and raised him, albeit reluctantly. Relationships between the Half-orc and the Elves were uneasy. Raskan had an instinctive wariness of the Elves' magic. When he was twelve years old, he left the group and started wandering, living by his wits and strength. He's been arrested several times for thievery, but has managed to escape.

-----------

Name: Amaran

Race: Lythari (I got that from the wiki link you set up)

Age: 235

Appearance: about 6'00", tan, Dark brown hair and hazel eyes.

History: He lived a normal life until he was about 50. He went off on his own and lived with various wolf packs. About 33 years ago he finally joined society, though he's been know to travel in the woods for days on end.

Other: Since he is Lythari, he can change into a wolf at will. ((In his wolf for he looks like http://images.quizfarm.com/1136193571brownwolf.jpg))
He is a loner, but if he is comfortable with his surroundings he opens up. He prefers not to fight, but if it comes down to it he will defend himself. In his human form he does not carry any weapons because he can change shape to a wolf.

-----------

I don't know about the basics of this world, but this sounds like a fascinating RP. Could you explain it to me?

Well the whole thingy is hard to explain, but the area where we are in is the northwestern corner of the map (in my first post). There you can find Luskan, Neverwinter and Waterdeep along the coast. These are city states with with significant influence in politics, Luskan is what you might call the most corrupt of them. Luskan`s rulers also have an agenda to rule over the northern lands all tough it`s not public so no point going mentioning that in your posts. Luskan and Waterdeep are important naval powers in some manner. Then the land to the north is Icewind dale, a valley, which has some barbarian tribes and a loose confederation known as the ten towns. In the east there is Mirbar, a human and dwarven city, beyond it to the east can be found the Mithril halls, a famous mine city of the dwarves. Somewhat south of it is Silvermoon another powerful city state that practicly rules over the silver marches...

Well theres a somewhat kinda description of whats going on... post your profile then and dun worry I`ll lead the story onwards etc

The starting `scene` will be at a cell block, if the plot explenation was too confusing. Your characters can be either guilty of a crime or not(teh authorities either caught the wrong person or didn`t bother looking for a guilty one anywhere further)

lol Sadly I have only read the first one, bu I did like it a lot :D I haven`t been able to get my hands on the two others... or well I would have to buy them.. but I am too greedy

And for all of you thanks for joining, and well hmh Amoniel noticed what you placed in the skills/abilities of your character... well I hope that your character won`t be a skillful magic user and a good fighter as rarely those two go together. You can have a skilled warrior with some minor magic skills. Just my idea as it brings more balance to the characters thus making them more realistic, just explaining it generally.

I think I'll give this one a go :) What are you thinking as far as races go, Curunir? The usual elf/dwarf/human thing with variations? I haven't read FR :P I guess what I want to know is if I were a character who's essentially a nomadic desert human, would that work?

Sure, fine by me. and the races are a quite wide array, besides those that you mentioned there are gnomes, halflings, half-orcs etc

PS. Try to create different characters from others, it would be rather dull if every character had minor spell abilities and fighting skills (all tough mine is a fully fledged sorcerer)

And should anyone be interested then you should really get your hands on some Forgotten Realms books, an obvious starter would be Homeland, the first book in the dark elf/drow trilogy.
