Ooooo, thanks Haldir! I meant to ask that, but I spent so much time reading through everything else that I had forgotten So yes... Why did the boy have one of the nine pieces of eight?
Edit:- Yes! I got it! (saw the scene after the credits, I mean) So what if I've seen it already

Um...I don't think it was actually one of the real pieces of eight. It was probably just an introductory scene to how dark the movie might be. It also represents the end to the age of piracy. Some started thinking it was the same boy..but it wasn't. Lord Cutler Beckett is already dead. He exclaims his 'perfection' to the pirates.

sorry...I was kind of multi-tasking there.
The coin and the boy in the beginning of the movie was an introductory scene to the movie's essence. Lord Cutler Beckett is later on dead, so this scene cannot be about the past. It's about the future of piracy. Basically the boy and the coin symbolizes the age of piracy. The Nine Pirate lords didn't really use pieces of eight. They used whatever they had on them...remember?
The boy has no relations to any certain character. It's just like what the Jolly Roger represents. The boy and the piece of eight were symbols.

Yes, I always took it, that the kid had a pirate coin, and later on ak the pirate coins would "sing" so the main pirates would know that they needed to stand together.
Did anyone notice that we still haven't found out what went on between Jack and Beckett for them to have both left the mark on the other? We know about Jack, but I honestly thought in the scene they were in together bargaining, we would find out about Beckett. Maybe it will be a deleted scene, but I really wanted to know.

Law...I have to spend a night of family time and then go to bed and....when I return there are like five more pages. Eek....(an hour and forty five minutes later). Okay, I finaly read all of the posts since last when I posted. (sigh of reliefe)
EowynFaramir4ever, Thank you so much for finding and posting that for us! I think that that makes more sense. Personaly I think that I will choose to believe that after ten years Will got to come home to his family. However when the dvd comes out it might prove it wrong...but for now I am going to stick with that side of the debate. I am Willabeth and the thought of a happy everlasting Willabeth ending makes me happy. Plus it makes sense to me. lol
Larael, Hello and welcome to the Pirates of the Caribbean discusion. (waves) Thank you for adding your review to the list we seem to be making here. Great job.
Oh, and by the way I love your signature set. If you do not mind my asking, where (which site) did you find the screen capture for the Willabeth kiss? I looked on around four or five websites yesterday for that screencapture but I have not been able to find it.

Now, do you know if the song that Beckett wanted them to sing was an actual pirate song? It may not be a song to symbolize anything but perhaps --- a real song that the producers took to use?

@ Kit - As the lyrics to the song, seem to be telling the tale of the time the Brethren Court captured Calypso, I'm pretty sure the song was created for the film, as to tie in these events.
@ bow and arrow - No doubt, someone will be able to tell us what it was about, but I think I am right in saying it was not mentioned in the film, nor was any mark Jack left on Beckett shown. There are probably theories about what happened, but I'm betting it may well be a deleted scene.

Wait, what's this I'm reading about Will and Elizabeth can be together again because she waited for him for 10 years? That I didn't catch? Is that part of the curse?

Apparently...whether you believe it or not... there is a scene missing from the film which basically explains that if Elizabeth is faithful to Will during his 10 years as Captain of the Flying Dutchman, the "curse" will be lifted and he will be free to be a normal man again.
Sounds a bit squiffy to me, but then again they need to find some way of getting them together again, if there is to be a 4th film.
