Yes, it is sad. *pat pat*
But it's also sad for the souls who are lost through no fault of their own.

Ah, thank you! I understand it now!
Poor Davy Jones. It seems like it's all Calypso's doing, although like she said, it's in her nature, and you can't tame a goddess.

i'm not angry that he kissed her, it was his last right(well, he didn't know at the time), but yeah, he deserved to kiss her... it's almost an insult to Liz, somehow...

Ahh, I guess you are all right about the Elizabeth jumping theory Thanks for the explaining though!

*cough* Yeah. Sorry. Granted, I minded his kiss much less than I minded Sao Feng's...
To be honest though, Norrington was my second favorite male in #1. Not so much in #2, but in this one he was OK. I did feel awfully sorry for him when he died.

Saw the movie twice in the last two days. Norrington's death was the only thing that made me cry. He was one of my favourite characters. What I really liked was the battle in the maelstrom.

Drew's Destiny wrote: Ánië Súrion wrote: [quote=Anie Surion] Edit: I think Lizzie must have the Kiss of Death or something, unless she's kissing Will. Wait - he died after kissing her too! Look at this pattern: DMC: Lizzy kissed Jack; he died several minutes later. AWE: Lizzy was kissed by Sao Feng; he died several minutes later. AWE: Lizzy was kissed by Norrington; he died several minutes later. AWE: Lizzy kissed Will; he ALMOST died several minutes later. (and would have if not for Jack...) Interesting, isn't it? Yes, it is. I had never really noticed that. However you are one hundred percent correct! Do you think that they did it that way on purpose? Oh, and by the way I love your new Willabeth animated banner. The lyrics to "Keep Holding on" by Averil L. and "So far Away" by Nickleback are nice touches.
*shrugs* I doubt they did it on purpose. I just thought it was funny. (Not funny for Jack, Sao Feng, or Norrie, but still...)
Thanks! I've picked like 4 different "Willabeth" songs (an odd habit of mine) and "Keep Holding On" really stood out, considering recent events in their relationship and all.

Wow, I just realized, I have! I think either Jack or Norrington was there, and the two soldiers from CotBP who argue, and Barbossa. Only it was on a modern freight ship. And I think we took over some warehouse on the water.
Right, anyway, an interesting point about Elizabeth's kiss. I think maybe they did do it on purpose. It might symbolize something. Like love and passion can kill, but perhaps it's a thing to die for. Because, when you think about it, the deaths are what kept the story going. Like if Sao Feng didn't die, Elizabeth wouldn't have become a pirate lord. And if Jack didn't die, then the Kraken would have gotten them all when they were trying to escape to land, and Will would haven't have become immortal. Although, Davy Jones died and I don't recall Elizabeth kissing him.

JF, Have you some crazy dreams, aye? Well, no need to worry. I am a hard core Willabether and I am not mad at all about the Norribeth kiss nor would I blame you for it. However your dream is hystericly funny. Thanks for sharing that with us.
Usaly when I dream about PotC it's either about Willabeth or just about Will. lol
Anie Surion, I agree. However it does seem quite a huge coicedence. I just do not know why they would to it on purpose though, especialy without them actauly pointing it out/telling us about in the movie.
You are very welcome. Oh, that is really cool. Have you ever heard the song "carrying your love with me"? It is an older country song and the chorus (...It's my strength for holding on. Every second that I have to be gone. I have everything I'll ever need. I'm carrying your love with me..." really reminds me of Willabeth. I just had to share that. lol Hmm....we really need a song thread for movie characters and couples...I will have to start that when I get a chance.
Okay, I have a question now, does Will stay immortal? Is it like some kind...um...reward he is given for preforming his duties upon the Flying Dutchman or was his immortality lost (forfeited) when he returned to the "living world" with Elizabeth?

Good question Destiny! Actually I've been wondering the same thing.
As for the Norribeth kiss- I'm okay with it. Norrington gave up all he had so that Elizabeth could be happy and he got nothing from it but that kiss. I think he deserved some sort of happiness before he died and that was it.
Has anyone else noticed that Norrington seemed to do a lot of things for Elizabeth? All throughout the first movie and even in part of the second everything he does goes toward making Elizabeth happy.
Does anyone here think Norrington ever stopped loving Elizabeth? I don't think he did, and that kiss told it all.

@ Darky - Yes, he did deserve to kiss her. I'm glad he did.... and I hope the ungrateful !"@%$ felt guilty... although obviously not guilty enough to mention him again. I think I have gone off Elizabeth. *pokes*
@ Gil - Hah, I seem to have one every night. I dream about AU a lot as well. You were in my dream last night.
@ Ánië Súrion - Well I think seen as how nearly all the male characters had kissed her... he probably should have done as well.
@ Taurquende - Nice to know I'm not the only one who has these Pirate dreams.
@ DD - I have some verrry strange dreams.
Hmm... that is a good question.... I'm really not sure. I'd like to think the answer is "yes" and then Elizabeth can drink the water from the fountain of youth, and they'll live forever!
@ Larael - I think I was surprised by the kiss, and I don't think I was too happy at first, because I've always thought Elizabeth was not good enough for Norrington, and she was stringing him aong slightly in COTBP. But, when I think about what he got from it, it makes me happy. I bet that was the first time he had ever kissed anyone. *sniff*
He never stopped loving her. In a way, I think his love for Elizabeth was just as strong as Will's, maybe even more so because he was not obliged to anything for her ever again, when it was clear she was in love with Will, but he did. And often. And sacraficing his happiness for her own was such a noble deed.... had Will done that it would have been "oh, Will did this" "Will did that".
It makes me sad that Norrie is sometimes forgotten. The only reason he has been spoken of so much this time is because he died.

They'll live forever like in Tuck Everlasting!
Sadly I bet it was. But at least it made him happy. Do you think he knew that would be the last time he saw Elizabeth? Is that why he kissed her? Or was that to show his redemption after betraying them at the end of DMC. I'd like to think it was a little bit of both. It was his only chance to show he still loved her.. *sniffle*

I think it may have been both. It may have been because he didn't expect to see her again, as she was on the "other side" and he was with Beckett.
Still doesn't make me feel any better about his death though.
In my fanfic Tia Dalma is going to bring him back to life. *nods head frantically*

This was in the paper today:
Quote: HIGHEST-GROSSING OPENING Swashbuckling Blockbuster finally picks up wind in its sails
Despite initially turning in an opening-weekend box office that was prematurely dubbed "disappointing," Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End has actually gone on to break the record for largest worldwide opening. The third instalment of the Disney franchise, which stars Orlando Bloom, right, raked in US$401-million in its first six days of release, according to Variety. This breaks the record previously held by the recently released Spider-Man 3, which earned US$382-million in its first six days earlier in May. World's End's first weekend's earnings of a more-than-respectable US$142.1-million were well below the expectations of Disney executives — as well as those of movie insiders.
Funniest thing about that was that they said it starred Orlando Bloom Co-star, maybe. Lead star, no. There was also an article about Bill Nighy, which I'm currently attempting to scan. It was cool - he said he's done some of his friends' answering machines with "Do you fear death?" in his Davy Jones voice!
I WANT DAVY JONES ON MY ANSWERING MACHINE!
