Gil, I'm having the same issue over my own will power  I'm meant to be saving up for something, but it's becoming more and more tempting to buy something...

:teehee: If it sounds almost American, what does it also sound like?

I'm still so overwhelmed by the amazingness of the film. Seriously. I have no complaints whatsoever about it. I loved it. Absolutely loved it. The best one out of the three for sure. It was the little things that made me so happy;

**SPOILER ALERT**

I LOVED how they brought back those two adorable soldier guys from Pirates One. I even did an internal squee when I saw them, haha. And it was just the cutest thing how they turned Pirates at the end.

I loved the homage to the first film when Jack was swinging around getting shot at while the 'Black Pearl' theme played, just like in the first film!

Again another homage to the first film; I loved how Jack's second entrance in the movie - that being coming down the sand dunes towards his friends/crew on the ship - resembled his entrance in the first film. Even the same music played!

I LOVED the set up for a possible continuation. I would absolutely love to see a "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Fountain of Youth" film!

I LOVED how we got to see Davy Jones as he once looked like. That whole scene with Tia Dalma was really beautiful. I also loved how Bootstrap and all the crew at the Flying Dutchman became normal looking again. AND I thought it was the coolest thing that Will became the captain. Really loved that! I'm not an Orlando fan but I must say he looked uber-hot in this film!

Like I said on my little video, that scene where Elizabeth ordered everyone to Hoist their Colours and the breathtaking "What Shall We Die For" music kicked in I almost started crying. The scene was so overwhelmingly powerful and honorable. I had chills running up and down my arms and spine. Pure cinema magic!

I LOVED Shipwreck Cove (or whatever it was called). It looked spectacular. I wish I could find a high resolution picture of it because it'd make an awesome wallpaper!

I LOVED the Jack Sparrow and Barbossa VS the Spyglasses moments. So flippin' hilarious! I nearly spit my Pepsi when Jack showed up with the uber-long one and just thinking about it made me giggle for several minutes afterwards even when that shot was over.

I LOVED Keith Richards in the film. What an excellent role for him and what a cool look he had too! Perfect as Jack's father. The whole "how's mum" thing made me laugh!

This was me during the whole movie: :o :D  :D  :D :'( :o  :D  :D :notworthy:

Oh yeah about Norrington's death. For some reason it didn't affect me whatsoever. Norrington has always been a 'Cutler Beckett' for me; that annoying army guy who's always in the way, ruining things. I liked that he chose the right side at the end but he still didn't get any sympathy points from me!

 Wow, an anti-Norrie person! I never thought I'd see the day...

I cried when he died :(

I finally saw it yesterday night! And well I love this end! I know I'm probably weird but I kinda like love stories that end badly...(tough it could have been worst, ya know he just could have died... well just died... :P)

I think I'm going to put myself in serious trouble but I don't really like what they made with the character of Elisabeth... Remember at the very beginning she was a meant-to-be lady and now... what? She gives order to pirates far mor experimented than she is, far more dangerous also probably...
Ok this is just the magic of cinema and I love being drown into it but well, it just bothered me thoughout the movie, I just tough this time they were going too far... Come on! women of the 1700's can't act as women of the 2000's!

Still it's a great movie and Jack is perfect turning almost totally crazy and the whole "peanut" thing! He's getting better and better! :)

Actually, Ted and Terry (and others) have many, many times described Elizabeth as "a modern-day girl stuck in the 17th/18th century." The whole point was to give her a fiery spirit not commonly seen in those times, so an unusual fate really isn't that unexpected. ;)

I loved that Elizabeth truly became a pirate in this film. It was hinted at in the first film, really developed in the second film and in its full glory in the third installment. I never really like Elizabeth in the first film nor in the second but I must say I really loved her in At World's End. Girl Power is all I have to say :)

LoL I'm not anti Norrington. He's just such a bland character for me

Hmm... I have to disagree about the "bland character". I think he's actually got a lot of character and there has been enough said and shown (without actually giving it all away) for the audience to be able to pick up exactly what motivates Norrington, why he does things he does, what being in the Navy means to him, and how events of the the first two films have changed his perspective of his life.

And I think the fact that he was willing to sacrafice his own happiness for the happiness of a woman who never loved him and who wanted to be with another man, shows there is a lot to Norrington and more that meets the eye. It doesn't help of course that as a leader he has learnt over the years to keep his emotions from his men, but that's also how he has become during his private moments. You do see glimpses though of the real Norrington throughout the films. And that is the Norrington I love. :-)

He's just uninteresting to me. Yes he loves Elizabeth but she doesn't love him. Big deal. He needs to get over it. He died bravely though so I gotta give him credit for that!

I think had he not been killed he would have done. If Laurie from Little Women had been killed in a battle or something before he married, I somehow think we all would have been saying he was in love with Jo but Jo wasn't in love with him. Big deal. Get over it Laurie. It's just the way the film worked out. I actually think the fact he continued to love her even though he knew it would never be, was extremely sweet and proved he wasn't as cole hearted as people thought he was.

I haven't seen Little Women so I can't really comment on that.

People love people they know they will never be able to have all the time. I just don't see what makes Norrington so special and sweet for doing so. To each their own.

aww, teh Norry is an aweosme character, wehn i saw it yesterday i started crying as soon as he opened the jail for Liz and her crew, i just wanted to shout at him to lock it or something so Bootstrap wouldn't of come...

I agree, i wanted to see more of Keith Richards, he did an amazing job. It does really look like Teague and Jack are father and son, it's really cool.

And i'm still trying to figure out what mark Jack left on Buckett...

It still irks me about Bootstrap, i loved him in number 2, but... he wasn't very lovable this time around.

Or you can accept the fact that not everyone shares the same opinions or find the same characters as lovable and continue a mature discussion about it :p

Bucket!! I love it. :teehee:

Oh, if I go and see it next week, I am going to cry "becketts" (;)) I know I am.

Oh, BTW Darky, I found another Davy avatar on my computer if you want it. :-)

@ Eru - There's not much to discuss about it really. So we may as well save ourselves a lot of typing and effort, when all either party is going to do is accept each other's opinions and leave it as that.

That's what a real discussion or debate is all about though;

You discuss/debate the issue in question but still respect everyone's opinions, whatever they may be!
