*high fives DD back* Yay for Tom Hollander and Beckett! :kick:

Oh, I had forgotten about Bootstrap! I know there are some hard-core Bootstrap fans on here, but he wasn't a favorite of mine either. And I really didn't think he looked anything like Will! But, I'm really bad at recognizing faces. Though he had a really saddening story in AWE.

Mercer, too. A very one-dimensional inhuman character. He wasn't much else besides cruel.

Welcome, Pirates' Destiny...it's a little belated, but hey, I don't have the energy to keep up with all the goings-on in this crazy thread. :P

Three favorites:

1. Will. Top of the list, always has been.

...it's taking me a while to decide here...

2. Elizabeth. Especially since I started RPing her, I quite like her.
3. Um...the monkey? At this point it becomes a tie between Barbossa/Bootstrap/Davy Jones and maybe Jack. And I actually do rather like Anamaria. Read an awesome Jack/Anamaria fanfic a while back.

I can't pick three least favorites. Unless maybe Governor Swann, who I was never crazy about, or the strumpets. Yeah. Governor Swann and the strumpets.

I loved this movie! I loved how it all ended, like with Jack and the little boat, exactly how it started out at CotBP :). I hope they don't make another one, it seems to be all tied up now.

I loved Will a lot in this film, it was nice to see him stop being nice and standing up for himself for a bit. And Davy Jones... I've become a big fan of him since this film; again, it was nice to see a different side to him, more moral and loving instead and harsh and cruel. Although he was still harsh and cruel, of course. ;)

@ Taurquende - Yeah, I know but people always seem to think of them together don't they? :teehee: Oh, yeah it was really werid when Elizabeth was talking really hasrhly to Beckett after the parlay because I kept thinking - "the talk they had together was entirely different in P&P!".

I always thought about Tia and Jack that they were... you know... especially the line when they were about to enter her hut: (Gibbs) "I'll watch your back". (Jack) "It's the front I'm worried about". :eyeroll:

@ DD - I know what it's like. I have to like everything about him. The way he is always drinking tea no matter what. Yay! :D

Well I did like Bootstrap in DMC, as you had to feel for him when he saw Will and what he had been going through... but AWE.... *fumes*.... I mean how can I feel sorry for someone who kills a man who never did him any harm, and how can I feel happy he is back to normal when he doesn't even say he's sorry for what he did? *fume fume fume*

@ Sisílcal - Hey there! Glad to see a new face around here. :-) Yay for Davy Jones fans! :D There is a thread around here about the next POTC sequel, so they are going to be making a 4th one. Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush have already signed up for it.

---------------------------------

I love the references to the first two films, but do any of you think they went a bit too far in trying to link back to the other two films?

The one that really annoyed me was when a dog appeared with the keys to the Pirates Code and automatically Pintel and Ragetti where trying to say it was the same dog they left on the island. WRONGO: totally different dog and way too young, almost a pup. But anyway, then Teague pipes up "sea turtles mate". Now how in the blazes would he know "a" dog had been left on "an" island. Does he speak dog (if that were the same dog)? Stupid little scene.

I can't decide on three of my worst characters... But Mercer is *definitely* one of them!

Taurquende, Yay another non Bootstrap fan! I know that he does indeed have alot of fans (esepcialy around here) but I just can not stand him. He was a dead beat father and husband, tried to killl his own son, was selfish on near every occasion, and as JF pointed out he killed Norrington and never even said that he was sorry for his misdeads. As for the pirates saying that Bootstrap and Will looked alike, I have a bit of an explanation for that one...the people (aka pirates) who said that just had a bit too much rum. lol I brought that same point up to my mum though and she said that, "Well who could they have had play Wil's father? The only person good looking enough in the pirates series to play his father would have been Johnny Deep (Jack Sparrow) himself." lol

Sisilcal, Hello. It is nice to see some more new faces around here. :-D I loved how it ended with Jack and the small boat and I love Will as well. :-D I do not care much for Davy Jones. Bill Nighy is an amzing actor and I really like that he gave him a Scottish accent but the character can just make me so mad. Plus he was I found the whole Davy/Calypso affair boring, so I think that I actauly liked him better in Dead man's chest. Just my opinion though.

JF, Yes, those lines! They just seem to have kept hinting at it. Dude, that is so strange...I mean the idea of Jack adn Tia (Calypso) as a couple.
Oh, yes the tea. I loved how he was always drinking tea too! Very cool.
Personaly speaking I have never liked Bootstrap. Even durring Dead Man's Chest but in At World's end he just became my most hated character in any movie of all time. He killed poor Norry (cries uncontrolabley). Norrington grew on me and...Bootstrap killed him! :explode: Oh and as you said not even an "I am sorry"? (sighs) I hate Bootstrap. Poor Will, poor Norrinton, poor (whoever Bootstrap's ex wife was), and poor anyone who had to put up with him throughout the series (the characrer not the actor, I mean).

Three Favorite Characters(plus one)

1. Davy. Well Duh.

2. Jack. Cause he's so superlous and amazing and spectacular and cunning, and not to mention good looking.

3. Barbossa, its as easy as that.

4.Norrington. Because he's a cutie and he died for someone that never loved him back.

now if it had been DMC it would of gone

1. Jack.
2.Bootstrap
3.Davy

But it really hurt me when Bootsrap became so confused with himself and killed Norrington, and he had a better part in DMC anyways.

Three Worst, well this is easy

1. Elizabeth and Will, Their tied. I dont like em, deal with it. Some of you dont like Davy, and I can't understand that.

2.Beckett. Cruel heartless man(figuratively speaking of course) Hwo dare he treat my wittle Davy like that.

3. Mercer. He's just mean.

@ DD - Well... Jack is a bit like that isn't he. :eyeroll: I don't think they were a couple as such... just a bit friendly. ;) Yeah, I mean how can we feel sorry for someone who killed a character who has been in POTC since the beginning? Are we just to pretend it didn't happen?! :annoyed:

@ Darky - Lol, you are so poetic. "I hate them, deal with it".

My top five favourite characters are:

1. Jack - Because he is POTC, and without him I wouldn't have been so anxious to watch DMC and AWE

2. Barbossa - Great character in his own right but coupled with Jack... XD XD XD

3. Norrington - The only really "good" character in POTC. Totally wubs him. *huggles*

4. Davy Jones - misunderstood and tormented villains are my speciality, and he definitely falls into those categories and he plays the organ with his beard. Nuff said.

5. Beckett - Cool, calm and collect villain. Knows what he wants and he knows he's going to get it. Nifty.

Dark Queen of Angmar, Well I will admit that Davy Jones (I usaly call him DJ when speaking of him though) was not my favorite character. I disliked how he treated the members aboard the Dutchman. I understood why he was so cruel but I disliked that he was so cruel. He was cruel, sinister, not sorry for his deads, and I do not think that he ever truly changed. However that is just my opinion and I do not hate him (he is just not my favorite character).
Okay, so if you do not mind my asking, why do you dislike (or hate) Will and Elizabeth?

JF, Indeed. lol Ah that is certainly a possability. It just irked me that they brought that up and then did not follow through with a story to explain their connection (where did they met? Where they friends or something more? Did either ever actualy care for the other? Why did they fall out as friends or as more? etc).
I agree with you. Norrington was there before Bootstrap and Norrington (in my opinion) was the much better character. Why must we sacrafice one character for other characters? I tell you by the time Bootstrap had been rescued I could not have cared less about whether old Bootstrap Bill lived or died.

I have a question...what mark did Jack leave on Beckett in CotBP? I thought Beckett wasn't even in that movie...

As for favorite charries: Will, duh. ;) and Barbossa's definitely my favorite Villian. Plus the monkey. Oh...and dear old Jar of Dirt. Can't forget him. :)

Thank you both of you for the warm welcome. :D

I have to admit, I hated DJ in DMC. He was very callous, and cruel, cared little about the welfare of others and wasn't doing his duty as charged to him by Calypso (ferrying those who had died at sea to the other side), so I disagree with you, Drew's Destiny, about him there. ;) In AWE though, I wouldn't say he's changed, because he hasn't (you can bet he'd act exactly the same as he would've done in DMC if Beckett hadn't made off with his heart! ;)), but you do see a different side to him, and this side I like. :)

Yeuch . PotC 4? Well, I suppose I can put up with that... if Johnny's in it, that's ok. ;) I hope they don't do anything more with Will/Elizabeth though, that seemed very finalised to me. Don't get me wrong, I love Will (personally not a fan of Elizabeth), but that story seems to have run it's course.

My top three favourite characters...

CotBP:
1. Jack
2. Gibbs
3. Ragetti

DMC:
1.Will
2.Jack
3. Bootstrap

AWE:
1. DJ
2. Beckett
3. Will

They've changed each time, which surprised me somewhat. But there you are. ;)

Might one inquire as to the reason for your dislike of Will? He's my favorite by far, you see, so I'm curious :)

Hey there Sisílcal! :bye2: It's so exciting to have new members! :bounce: Oh, and I love your name! Sisílcal, Sisílcal, Sisílcal... it's so pretty! (Though I have no idea how it's really pronouced! :teehee:)

Personally, I liked that, but I see your point. 'Tis a slight mysterious that Teague knew about the dog on the island! The only reference that really bothered me was "Why is all but the rum gone?" Surely they could have found a reference to rum that wasn't so out of place? Even something like "Why is the rum gone?" then "Why is the water gone?!?" rather than "Rum's gone too."

Oh, yes, why kill Norrington?! And no one even mourned for his death, :( except Elizabeth but only for about two seconds. :disgust: I guess it's up to us fans to mourn. :'( And had I been Bootstrap's wife, I would have hunted him down like a dog. :karate: But that's just me. :P

My favorite characters also change throughout the triology:
CotBP:
1. Basically the three main characters. :P Will, Jack, and Elizabeth.

DMC:
1. Beckett - Awesome villian! I loved how he always felt he was superior to everyone else, even when Elizabeth was holding a gun to his face. :P Oh, and the tea. :teehee: We should all have a tea party with Beckett sometime. :P
2. Norrington - Developed into a great character in DMC! He wasn't just Will's competetion anymore, but a character in his own right. I felt so sorry for him too, because he had just been striped of his honor and thrust out into the world, and now he's desperate and will do anything to get his old life back. That kind of character always appeals to me. And he was quite cute too, all rugged and such. ;)
3. Will - because of his loyalty and honor, as always!

AWE:
1. Barbossa - Really had a chance to shine in this one. I loved his arguments with Jack, too!
2. Beckett - Same reason as stated above, but also because he had such a sad fate. :(
3. Norrington - Again, sad fate, thrust out into the world, etc. Bt I loved how you could tell he still cared so much for Elizabeth, even though he had been hiding it through DMC.
4. Will - yeah, I know it's top three, but I just love Will! :teehee: And I couldn't take any of the others off the list!

from one new member to another welcome aboard, Sisílcal! :bye2:

Gee, you guys move fast!!

My brother and I just came back from seeing AWE for our third time... sadly our stupid Celebration Cinema is gonna take it out soon for all these new movies coming out :disgust: I can't believe it!!!

Anyway, I’m happy to hear someone else doesn’t really like Bootstrap. I don’t dislike him and I understand he wasn’t really in his right mind at the end but how can you ever forgive the man who kills Norrie?!... :'( and tries to kill Will!!!

Although I wonder what would’ve happened to Norrie (if he had lived) when Beckett found out about him helping Elizabeth and crew escape… don’t you think he probably would’ve had Mr. Mercer get Norrie out of the picture anyway just like Governor Swann? Or maybe Norrie really would’ve gone with Liz? *wishful*

Jones isn't my favorite character (although I do think he's an interesting one) but I've never heard of someone saying they don't like Will or Elizabeth.... wow.

Hey, what about everyone’s favorite scene from AWE? Since we've done fave characters and all.

My favorites are:

1. Will and Elizabeth's wedding (and all the other final battle scenes) - they're intense and I like all the characters coming together in the end and a lot of the scenes are really fun to watch... 'til Will gets stabbed... I just love when Jack and Jones are fighting up in the masts and on the deck. And how can you beat Barbossa marrying Will and Liz right in the middle of battle? Some people might call it cheesy but I thought it was fitting.
2. The Singapore scenes - They're good scenes for the whole crew. Good teamwork. Not to mention Barbossa really shined in these scenes. He had a good plan... too bad Will got caught.
3. Will, Beckett and Jones’s conference on the Endeavor - how can it get any better? three people who pretty much hate each other all in that one room and Will talking to Jones like that and all... I can't really blame Jones for wanting to kill Will... but isn't it great the way Will gets into this think/act-like-Jack mode?
