So, I read through your review Larael, and if you read mine I'm sure you saw we agree on many aspects.
I totally agree about the RonxHermione moments, they were absolutely squeal-worthy.
And I agree about the kiss, I was expecting something more peck-ish.
Oh, I was SO dissapointed about the Howler that didn't get to Petunia, too!

Something I forgot to mention was, what Banana-Republic mentioned "they way it looked"
That bother me, especially during a good first half of the movie, whee it looked like all it was was focusing on was how the film looked.
The ways scenes shifted, the quick changes of shots, and did anyone else notice how there would be this build-up build-up build-up of music.....and then it would just stop all of a sudden, i can understand that they use it sometimes, but in the beggining of the movie, in 5 minutes they did it three times.
I'm probablly not making any sense....I'll go now. xD

DD: I guess the increase in said violence would be due to the fact that it's PG-13.....right?

I saw the film yesterday and I have to say that it is one of my favorite HP movies to date. There were disappointments but it is a great film. If everyone is interested in reading my review/rant you can read it over at http://vivielessar.livejournal.com/262264.html

Ms. Gamgee, Oh most certainly the change in rating is due to the increase in violence. I am do not mean it in a bad way though. In fact I like that that scene was in the movie...violent or not. I just mean that some of my (offline) friends may not appreciate it. However I do appreciate it. I was worried that they might cut it because of the level of violence but I am glad to hear that they did not cut it. I think that it was important to the story and to Umbridge's character develpment. :-D

ViviElessar, Your review is also wonderful! I really enjoyed how you did a review on each character's role in this movie. Wonderful, wonderful job! Thank you for posting the link to it for us.
I am very glad to hear that I am not the only one who was disappointed by the lack of Tupin (Tonks and Lupin) scenes. At first I did not like them but the more that I read about them the more that I like them. Now I am an all out shipper of them. :) So I was really looking forward to maybe a scene or two with them in the movie. Oh, well (sighs)... maybe they will have scenes together in the next movie. (crosses fingers...I really hope so)
Oh and by the way, I really like your new Lupin banner. :)

Okay please don't like totally kill me but I just have to ask...is there any Draco and Hermioen scene(s) (even a scene where they are being mean/rude to each other)? It is just that with all this talk of R/Hr (Ron and Hermione)...it got me thinking of my favorite Harry Potter couple (Dramione (D/Hr).

@ Ms.G: :P Actually I read your review after I'd posted mine and had to smack myself. We sound so much alike! I guess it's not a bad thing though since we've both read the books and we were pretty much looking forward to seeing the same things. It only makes sense that we'd have the same disappointments.

I'm off to see it again next Thursday when the crowds have died down a teensy bit.

Yea...I could have posted my review but I read the others' reviews and were about what I would give. My major complaints about the film were:
1. NOT ENOUGH DRACO!!
2. Beginning moved too quickly
3. They didn't show how frustrated harry was with no news until MUCH later
4. Harry didn't destroy Dumbledore's office in 5.frustration after the Ministry thing
What was the swirling sand with Harry and Voldemort about?

Other than those 4 things I loved it. It was a wonderful movie and pretty close to the book considering. Obviously the book is way better(it always is) but I think with the time constraints it was wonderful. The big battle in the misistry was wonderful. I have nothing totally negative to say about the movie. Overall I give it a 9 just because in the beginning it was really choppy and not very smooth transitions. But after the hearing it smoothed out.... :)

Ooh, good point about Draco. For a second their I thought, "wait a minute, we didn't even see him at all." But no, he was there in all the Inquisitorial Squad scenes. *sigh* I missed him a lot.

I don't know about yall but I actually liked it. It was a very well made movie. Same with number 3, even though all the events were WAY out of wack, it was a great movie movie, like in terms of structure and eloquence. I think this movie was so much better than like number 2 or 4. The whole "Harry becomes teacher" part was kinda corny, but whatever. :/ Love the Snape flashback too, that was unexpected! >D I also liked Luna and Bellatrix's interpretations of their characters. Anyone else like it?

^^I absolutely agree with the Luna Bellatrix interpretations...The flashback I wasn't so sure about that because I didn't like how they cast young james I don't think that he was a very good James(just my opinion) I mean this is definately my favorite movie to date and it was a good movie movie. I mean I do like how the made Harry use the spell against snape rather than him falling into snape's pensive. I did really like that part I just don't like how they cast young james potter is all..

Yeah, the flashback was kinda weird, and it made James look like a real jerk, like, Malfoy-status. And Snape looked kinda weird, but I guess he was supposed to be awkward-looking. He had a very large nose. XB

I'm glad you enjoyed what I wrote. :-D

Yesterday I was watching a HP special on A&E. It was amazing and it a lot of scenes from OotP. It made more excited about the movie :-D

And the colors were strange. I know it was supposed to look flashbackey, but it looked ... strange.
