^ the midlands basically covers derbyshire, herefordshire, leicestershire, lincolnshire, northampthonshire, nottinghamshire, shropshire, staffordshire, warwickshire, the west midlands, and (best of all) worcestershire; so if you live in any of those, you're a midlands girl like me.

The weather is warm today. Cloudy, but warm. Yesterday was boiling, and I was playing cricket in it. Being out in the middle under a helmet was really uncomfortable. major dehydration and heat exhaustion :\

I'm a little below the midlands :D i'm in the home counties :D

Hey, it's Darrell! :bye2: I haven't seen you for an age. xD

Ahh, cricket, you have to wear lots of heavy white stuff for that, right? :P

I've been about :P Just camouflaged!

Technically, the white stuff isn't the heavy bit. The 'whites' (which are actually a cream colour) are just trousers and a shirt. the heavy stuff goes on when batting (or wicket-keeping) which is pads, gloves (which do tend to be white), a helmet, and whatever other body armour you chose to wear (I don't wear anything extra, it is too heavy and uncomfortable, and it gets in the way). Oh, and the most vital piece of kit for the batsman... his box! :P (I guess that the most important kit is actually the bat, but trust me, sometimes, the box seems more important!)

Indeed, I can imgine why you'd think that.

Well, it all looks pretty white/cream to me. :P Although I must say, it bores me to watch it. I'm a naff sportsman. xD

Cricket is something I'll never understand ... even though I've been around it quite a few times. They just seem to do all sorts of things and yet nothing seems to happen.

*thinks* That just didn't make a lot of sense, did it?

Meh.. the weather is quite dreary down south today. Light rain and cloudy skies.. perfect for day indoors methinks. :zzsoft:

Lol. Cricket's the one sport I can almost tolerate. I'm a fairly "naff sportsmen" [as Estë put it] as well. Football is insane though.. very big fandom it has. :P

xD Well, there's nothing wrong with being a naff sportsman. Sport needs people like us just so there can be a rebellion...type...thing...

Naff sportsmen [or women!] unite!! :P

Whee! My family and I are taking a short trip to Bournemouth this weekend to go to the beach. [No swimming this time!] But we're going to do some fishing and take a look at some of the surrounding landscape, such as Lulworth Cove. :)

*ignores predictable comments about cricket being boring/pointless*

Oo. Lulworth cove, spectacular that is, though I've never been there. Takes some specific conditions to get something like that to form :D

Ooh, my dad used to work in Bournemouth.

Popping into Wales again tomorrow. We were going to go to Buxton, but my mum didn't fancy being in a car in this weather for quite a few hours.
