Anie Suriong, I totally agree. That the "Mrs. Turner" and the "good bye popet" scenes were very sad. I was in tears by that time but that just made me cry all the harder. It was like a moment for us to realise that that was it...that that was the end of the wonderful thing which is Pirates of the Caribbean (maybe not for all of the characters but at least for some of them...least wise that is what we are seemingly suposed to believe at this point in time)...and I just lost it. (cries)

..........
I have the oppisite problem with the workers. Everywhere I go they are hateful and don't want to help me at all. I am so short for my age (I will be 15 next month and I am only 5'1) and therefore I am unable to reach stuff on the higher shelves. So there I stand literaly climbing up on the shelf, attempting to reach whatever it is, and the workers sit there watching me (or usaly run off). (sighs) Thankfully most of the Pirates of the Caribbean stuff are on the lower shelves. Usaly it is the other shoppers that stare at me because I am looking at Pirates of the Caribbean action figures or books (cough) for example the Force of Will Turner book (cough). They usaly shake their head or give me this "whoa you are wearing that and buying that" look. Then I just want to crawl under something and hide. So I certainy understand why that would embarrass and/or annoy you.

As for what happens to movie posters etc that stores and theatres have...I had my Ada ask once about a Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's chest Will Turner stand up poster in a game/movie store and they said that they just put them in the back room to be stored. They claimed that they don't usaly sell them though. I totally don't understand that. ...I wanted that poster!

yeah, Tia's actress is a whole different story from Tia herself... I think her actress is pretty :)

Oh, great! Now you made me sad just remembering that PotC is over (for now at least)!:(

wow, really? You're workers aren't helpful? Hmm, maybe it's the time of day you go to the stores... or maybe it's where you live? I dunno sometimes the workers can be too helpful though.
Hey, I don't know if you're that short for your age... I'm only 5'2 *shrug* :)

put it in the back room to be STORED!? :swoon: who would do such a thing to something with Will on it? that doesn't even make sense! It seems like they'd want to get at least some money off it.

Oh, so I was thinking about this... I was wondering (since we've done everything else) what your favorite costume/outfit is that each character wore? for me I liked:

Will - it's a tie between his costume in DMC (with the white shirt and black leather coat and all) and his costume in AWE with the red shirt and black coat...

Elizabeth - it's either her wedding dress or her pirate-y outfit in DMC.

Jack - I liked him how he was most of the time... but I preferred him with his coat and hat along with everything else :)

Norrington - I liked his costume the best in DMC (the others were too much like all the rest of the people's clothes in the Navy or the EITC)

Davy - his costumes were always the same ;)

Barbossa - I liked his costume in every movie too! It never changed either :P

Beckett - weren't his always basically the same too?

Jack the Monkey - although I thought his Chinese clothes were so cute I still like his normal little suit the best! :P

Hm, good question, PD! My favorite costumes...

Will: This one's EASY! His CotFD look, of course! I looked kinda like this  :swoon: when he came onscreen, especially after the credits. :-D

Elizabeth: Probably her outfit from AWE because I kind of hate huge poofy dresses. Or else her pirate clothes from DMC.

Jack: Well, of course he has to have his hat! Other then that, did his costume really change very much during the course of the movies?

Barbossa: Like PD said, his outfit never changes. He doesn't get out much, apparently :P

DJ: ^ditto...but he looked kinda cool as a human

Norrington: he looked nice in his AWE uniform (even if it was for the EITC) and he kinda reminded me of Aragorn in DMC

Jack the Monkey: he's just adorable in anything :P

Anamaria: I liked her outfit too for some reason

Lady of Taniquetil, Exactly they just look at you like you are insane. Whether it is that you are wearing a Pirate related T shirt or buying something Pirates of the Caribbean merchandise. (sighs and shakes head) You are welcome. :-D
That is a very good question. Jack was like in what...three different layers? I really do not see how they could fight in all of that clothing either. However they did let Elizabeth wear pants, a shirt, boots, and a jacket rather than a dress when she fought. They also changed Will's clothing alot from the first and second one to the third one (actauly they seemed to put alot less layers of clothing on him...or just that the clothes that he was wearing were made of lighter material. I noticed it when we first got the promotional shots of him because he looked so much thinner...not as in he needed to lose weight and he did look hot but it sort of worried me at first ). So I guess that it could have been worse at least for Keira and orli. Still yet I have no idea how any of them fought in those outfits.

PD, Well my Ada says that Naomi (Tia's actresses) is pretty and from what I have seen/read about her thus far she seems alot more normal than Tia (thankfully), so if Orli was to date her it would be allright with me. Not that he needs my approval. (laughs)
Oops I am sorry that I made you sad. I did not mean too. I made me sad as well. :(
I think that it is where I live. I have went at different hours before but they are almost always int eh same mood...hateful. I do understand what you mean about workers being too helpful though. I have had it happen twice that I remember and it can get annoying.
They were probabley just too lazy. :annoyed2: I know, what were they thinking putting my dear William in a back room to gather dust when I could have taken him home, put him up on display, and been dusted every few hours!? :annoyed2:
Ooh that is a wonderful idea for a topic! Let's see...
Will: I liked the outfit that he wore through out the majority of At World's end. The red shirt, black pirate boots, black pants, black leather jacket, sash, and the thing to hold his sword (I seem to have forgotten what you call those things ...sorry)...was hot! However I did like his outfit at the of At World's end as well. The bandana and open shirt (which showed off his beutiful scar)... :swoon: It was a Very close second indeed.
Elizabeth: I liked her wedding dress best. I love 18 and 19th centurary dresses and her wedding dress was a wonderful example of that type of dress. I wish that I owned one just like it!
Jack: I liked his black pants, black pirate boots, and the chain around his pants. He wore it when he was in Davy Jones' locker while he was srubbing the deck. Though Will is my favorite I must admit that Jack is easy on the eyes as well.
Norrington: I liked his outfit in At World's end best probabley. It was elegent (spelling?) and beutiful. Plus it made him look even more handsome than he allready was. I am usaly one for the preppy up kept look rahter than the bad boy piraey look (like he sported in Dead Man's chest) so yeah...that is my favorite outfit of his.
Jack the moneky: I liked his outfit in Curse of the Black Pearl best.
Barbossa and Davy: I do not think that they ever changed their clothes.
Beckett: I do not remember him changing his clothes at any point in the series either. Did he?

Ánië, now that you say that Norrington did look a little Aragorn-ish in DMC... hmmm, I like it! Although you guys are right he wasn't bad looking in AWE either :-D

It must have been very hard (and hot) to fight in so many layers... I think it was in the special features for DMC where they did say it was hard for Orlando to fight on the Isla Cruses (spelling?) scene with his leather coat on and everything. Guess the leather just soaked up the sun and got extremely hot and heavy.

Really? You thought he looked thinner in DMC? To me it seemed like he got a bit stockier... I thought he seemed kinda thin in CotBP.

Well how can you be less normal then Tia? ;)

Oh, that's ok... not all tears are an evil after all ;) :P

Ooo, poor Will he's probably all sad and lonely back there! :'( He needed a good home! Maybe the worker who told you that was really planning on taking dear William all for himself or herself! Either way I'm sorry you didn't get him :(

Wow, you like 18th & 19th century dresses too?! I love those types of dresses! They're so pretty and elegant. :) (wonder what happened to the one Keira wore for DMC…)and if I ever had the chance to wear a corset I'd take it! :P although I doubt I'd want to wear it for long ;) I should go to Colonial Williamsburg again sometime and pay to do the whole dress-up thing…. And then run around playing PotC! :-D :P that would be so much fun!!! (although talk about odd the stares you'd get!)

Beckett did change his clothes but it was a subtle change... however, I've noticed he is wearing a different waist coat in almost every scene. :P maybe I'm just the weird one who sees all these little details.

Lady of Taniquetil, (high fives Lady of Taniquetil) The scar is just beutiful (giggle). I must agree with you about it being nice that it came full circle as well. It just seemed...right. :-D

PD, Yeah it really must have been. I would imagine that Orli's jackets would have gotten very hot as well. Dark colors draw heat and black is as dark as it gets. Dude, poor Orli must have burnt up in some of those scenes.
Ooh I know that they had to put holes in Johnny's shoes in Dead Man's chest so that he could walk in the water! Also Orli said that his leather jacket chaffed him and was very uncomfortable. Then Keira (I believe) said that it was very hard to move in her dress and that it was very painful wearing that corset.
I thought that Orli looked thinner in At World's end. It might just have been because he was not wearing quite so many layers of clothes or the fact that his shirts showed more chest than the shirts that he had worn in the previous movies did that made him look thinner to me. However I really did think that he looked thinner in At World's end.
I am quite sure that that would be impossable! ;) Thankfully. lol
Oh very nice quote!
Yes he did and I could have provided that good home. (sniffle) Well it was a teenage guy who seemed not to care one bit what became of the poster. :annoyed2: Maybe he was going to give it to the teenage girl that worked there though? I really do not know. lol All I know is that I wanted it! (screams like a little two year old after a toy has been taken away from them...lol)
Oh I truly love those type of dress.
Hmm they probabley put Keira's dress up for auction or saved it, just in case they were ever in need of it again. I do not know for sure though. Does anyone else here know?
I would take the chance to wear a corset too if the oppertunity presented itself. I think that they really are briliant inventions!
Ooh that would be great fun indeed. However people would give strange looks at whoever did that. lol
Oh I did not notice that. I shall have to watch for that the next time that I get to watch it. Thanks for letting me know. :-D

Yeah, my (affectionate) nickname for Aragorn is "Scruffy Man", so when I watched DMC again and saw Norrie the first thing I said was "Look, Scruffy Man 2!" Though really, I must admit I'm more attracted to Norrie than to Jack...

Beware of corsets, apparently they made Keira really out of breath after wearing one all day... You know, dressing up POTC style does sound like fun - but I personally would rather wear Lizzie's pirate outfit. :-D Stares? What stares? Just stare right back! ;)

Thanks! I so enjoy having nicknames for these people. :-D

yeah, I heard all that about their clothes too... what a pain! But they all looked great in the movie and you'd never tell all they had to go though for it to look that way.

very impossible  and thank you! I thought the quote was just brilliant too :P good ol' Gandalf! :teehee:

there, there... just think of all the lucky Will stuff that you've bought that did get a good home :-D

yeah, I'd imagin something like that did end up happening to Keira's dress... :annoyed2: too bad... they could've called me up and I could've taken it off their hands... depending on the cost though :P

Well, I know corsets can be pretty bad for you (poor Keira! Thankfully she didn't really have to wear one for DMC or AWE)... but, hey, I'd at least try it once :P...

yeah, you'll have to watch it again (don't you just love getting good excuses to watch PotC again? ;))... he really does. And I think it's kinda funny to watch... :teehee:

well, I'm happy I'm not the only one who thought that... :) maybe that was the difference... maybe he did seem a bit thinner (without all the clothes and such. Like Drew said) but at the same time he got stockier... does that make sense?

well, you wouldn't have to lace the corset too tight... just tight enough to feel what all these women from the 17 and 18 hundereds (and after) had to go through.

Oh, that would be so much fun!!! and sure you could come, Ánië! :-D Yeah, I think they do have costume rentals where you can rent a costume for the whole day (at least they did when we went)! It would be way cool but we didn't do it when we went :( or if you lived around there you could even apply for a job and get to wear clothes like that for your job (if you were a reanactor).

Oh, nicknames? My brother and I have a ton for the PotC characters... but no one would even begin to understand them... and we've got millions of inside jokes too! It's great fun! :teehee:

great nickname for Aragorn and Norrie! I like it!

That's a good idea! Just stare right back at the people like they're insane for not acting like they're from PotC...

:teehee:

Thanks! I do so enjoy myself when I watch these movies. :-D Anybody else imitate all the characters and do the accents and stuff, or is that just me?

I'm totally doing that next time something like that happens. :P Thanks for the idea!

Cool! That'd be really fun! Colonial Williamsburg, huh? Hm, I'll have to check up on that. ;) And I wonder if the name Williamsburg is just a coincidence...

Lucky you, my brother won't watch these movies, they scare him. :annoyed2:

Oh, I forgot to say when we were discussing POTC merchandise that I have a pencil with Will's picture all over it, and my mom just bought me an 8-pack of pencils that have Will and Jack on them. I'm definitely not going to use these in a hurry! :-D

I wish people still dressed like that... it would be so much fun! I wouldn't mind the corset, depending on how tight you pulled it. ;) I read somewhere that Keira wanted to pay tribute to Scarlett O'Hara from Gone with the Wind and pull it 17 in like her, and I remember from reading that Scarlett's sisters said they couldn't pull it any tighter than 18 1/2 inches without fainting. So it's ridiculously tight! Now it's no wonder Elizabeth passed out!

Oh yes, all the time! Usually really badly and dramatically. :teehee:

well, I'm happy I'm not the only one who thought that... maybe that was the difference... maybe he did seem a bit thinner (without all the clothes and such. Like Drew said) but at the same time he got stockier... does that make sense?

I didn't notice that at all. :P But it sounds like he probably worked out, and got thinner from burner calories but stockier by building musulces. () :teehee:

Favorite costume: WILL FROM AWE!!!!!!
*cough* Right... snapping out of it... :P

Colonial Williamsburg... I'd visit just for the name! :P That would be fun to walk around in old dresses! I don't really think people would stare at you, as it's got to become a regular thing to the locals to see tourists in 18th century clothes.
Alas, my mom's idea of a grand vacation is a drive into the next state, while my dad will go to Japan for no less than a month. :annoyed2: A nice, Caribbean island vacation is too adverturous for one and not adventurous enough for the other!

I suppose being absolutely clueless is what I get for not being here for a while. :P

Hmm... favourite costume.. will anything that Norrie wears really... :teehee:... so dashing...

I like Beckett's costume as well. Black boots. Hmm.....

As for accents, well Will hasn't really got a disinctive accent, whereas Barbossa, Jack, Davy and Tia all have, so I'm Ok with them.

I'm having so much fun reading your banner, JF, I think it's the best thing since sliced bread :) (Especially since I'm a cheapskate and all I've done is make my friend promise to lend Deathly Hallows to me when he's done rather than actually spend any money.)

My favorite costume has always been Jack's. It's so unique and the many intricate little additions give it so much personality. I can't say I really liked Elizabeth's in AWE.
