I liked it, but by the time I finished it I kinda knew the story by heart, seeing as I'd reread The Sil and read Unfinished Tales just before reading TCOH. It was definitely worth the extra money I had to pay Amazon for shipping, though.

Well the story is (of course) about the children of Húrin, mainly Túrin. I bought it a few days ago and I liked it though I knew the story quite well, too.

It does say what happened to Hurin after the event of Glaurung and Turin. Not saying anything due to possible spoliers for those still reading the book!

Childern of Hurin was much better written than either the Turin chapter in the Silmarillion or the footnoted account in Unfinished Tales. That said, I thought COH was geared toward the Tolkien fans as some of the summarizing accounts in the beginning would surely turm off anyone not familiar with the other tales mentioned in it that were covered in the Silmarillion.

I finished reading it last night... Turin makes me so mad sometimes, and the ending is rather depressing, but I liked it some anyways.

I liked the book. It was nice to read that particular story separately and not just in some little chapter in some other book. Although I'm not a fan of sad stories, and I think that this is in some parts a very sad story, I liked it very much and it was great that there were the pictures to help you picture the sceneries of the story.

My favorite story in Tolkien (obviously) and ironically, I'll be the last to read it. >.< I can't afford the book at this point. My friends were given it, however, and are going to lend it to me when they are finished.

I got it for my birthday, and I haven't gotten to it yet! I would love to read it soon, though. I heard it was easier to read than the Silmarilion
