As much as I love pluggedinonline.com (which is where you got those quotes from, right, PD?) what I don't like is that they say things like that about POTC. :annoyed2: (I should probably explain that pluggedinonline.com is a Christian movie review website that details questionable content in movies, TV shows, and music. Wonderful resource at some times, huge annoyance at others.) P-I is probably justified in saying that since it's a free country and all, but that's just the reviewer's point of view, which I don't agree with either. How do you not see the amazing stories in these movies?!

Hey,you're not the only one. They always criticize the best films.
They said(in a newspaper I read a long time ago) that in DMC,Johnny doesn't know how to act and Orlando and Kiera are just in the movies to show their ''pretty faces''.And they gave the film 2 stars!
Meanwhile, they gave 5 stars to a stupid sex movie (terrible acting, plot boring and idiotic ending).
They always criticize the best(also,LOTR(in very bad critics), HP,Star Wars, etc, etc)I hope they don't criticize my beloved Tintin film that it's about to come(Thanks,PJ!And you too,Steven Speilberg! :) )

That, is one of the reasons I dont read critic's reviews. I know that I'll disagree with them, then I get worked up, and its a waste of my energy and time.

Hey, I take offence to the comment "feels as heartless as its scaly, squirmy-faced villain, Davy Jones. " Who wants to come help my find this reviewer and boil their head?

And the bit about not being sure who to hate. Thats part of the awesomeness of PotC. You can wish any side to win, they're all flawed and amazing. I think thats one of its charms. You can like Sao Feng, or Davy Jones, or Barbossa or any of the characters. You can stick with them during the whole movie, or, if it strikes your fancy, you can start being the cheerleader for a different character. I dont think thats a bad thing at all.

*high fives* yeah we would! :P (seriously. I know! That would be AWESOME! :teehee:)

that's "thank you" in German? neat! wow, I think French is fairly easy... German seems... so... what's the word? strange? :P

That's me too... I try to avoid (like all of you) the critic's reviews at all... :eyeroll: I mean 98% of them don't even seem like they know what they're talking about.... or their seem strongly prejudiced against the movie  exactly! *sigh* why don't they give us enough credit?

I love plugged in too… I mean as far as a lot of things go the reviews are really helpful, but not that one. :annoyed2: (yes it is. I guess I probably should've included that in my post… :erm: ) exactly! They are wonderful for some reviews… but sometimes they’re just plain harsh.
Yeah, probably but it's still annoying that just because of that one review some people might be turned away from Pirates forever… now I understand not letting you little kids see it and the reviews are sort of geared toward parents with kids… but still they don't need to say all that about it. That has nothing to do with the content or any of that stuff. I have no idea how people can find these movies that bad! I mean if nothing else it seems like Johnny Depp/Jack and his funny ways would attract you to it even if you hated the story.
but that might just be me because most of the time I try to find the best in everything... and most resonable movies have at least some good qualities.

yes, it does seem like they do... maybe it's because they're the BIG films so the critics think they should tear them down a little... if that makes sense?
Oh, my goodness did I just hear you say the newspaper said Johnny didn't know how to ACT? and Orli and Keira were only in it for their faces? And they didn't even say anything about Beckett, Jones or any of the rest?! that is unbelievable! 2 stars ONLY!? what in the world!? :explode:
yes! and then they'll give that to a absolutely retarded movie!
I thought critics weren't suppose to be prejudice....... well, in all my experience I think they are VERY prejudice... or something.

You're very right, LoT. the critics are totally like that (and I think I get what you mean ;))... I actually don't really know WHAT the critics pay attention too... they come up with some things I would never ever think of. :annoyed2: they're too picky... sometimes. It's like I said. the big movies they seem to always bash and the smaller, dumber movies they love. no, I don't think critics do really care... at least if they were being totally real and unprejudiced and just telling you the way it was it wouldn't be as bad but when they outright bash the movie and say things that are totally unnecessary and just their opinion... well, then it gets ridiculous.
 I'm glad I'm not the only one! I never really got the point of critics either!

(it would be lots of fun wouldn't it? :P)

sounds like it would be. :P I finally actually had a dream about Admiral Norrie a few nights ago. :teehee:

Amen! since I disagree with them and I have my own thoughts on things I don't really care what they say. That's them. Now most of the time on PluggedIn they just review and say what's in the movie (sexual content, language, ect) and that's not bad because they're just informing you but the critics who give you THEIR opinion... well, I don't care about those reviews. :eyeroll: and that's about how I get too... whenever someone makes fun or ridicules my fave things I get worked up and upset too. :annoyed2:

I figured you would... ;) but, hey, I warned you guys... Davy isn't scaly anyway, is he?

Exactly! You are totally right! I don't think that makes Pirates a bad thing either... it makes it unique. I mean the way they portray any of the characters is wonderful. They're all only human. There are no "perfect" people there, bad things happen and the characters are hurt sometimes ect...[/u]

^^Exactly! And I watched that sex film.It was really stupid, half of the movie was waste in 2 hours chat between the main characters about sex, sitting in a hall, and we don't even see the 'snu-snu' scenes.

Hey,for that talking about sex we don't need to waste money on a bad movie,we just stay in home reading the Kama-Sutra.

And the ending, pff, like a soap-opera,we don't if this dude is going to left this girl,if her mother is going to Italy,..etc,etc,

The movie was soo bad, that I even forgot the title of the film,oh well it doesn't matter

And Johnny sure can act,he's one of my fave actors eva!Go you,Johnny! :bounce: :-D
And Orlando and Keira they also can,It's just that they are a bit new,but wait some years and they will!(They sure can act,not like say,(sorry if you like her)Paris Hilton(in one teenager mag they compared poor dear Keira to the spoiled brat of Hilton, man I was so mad that I dumped the mag inn the neighboors garden! >:(

ew yeah. i all those dumb movies they give tons of credit. one of my friends always goes by what the critics say, even for video games and stuff. i feel bad for him :P lol

you can't compare those two people together. :annoyed: who did they think was better? ugh that kind of stuff makes me really mad. and yes, johnny, orlando, and keira can act greatly!

@ Dark... me too. I make of point of not reading reviews. They spend so much time judging the acting, directing, costume designs, etc., that it seems they don't actually watch the movie.

@ PD... Well, "Thank you very much" but whatever. :P Really? French is really confusing to me! German is more playful (if not very eloquent. :eyeroll:) and a lot easier to keep track of in my mind. :)
Also, glad you liked the video. :teehee: The Tellatubbies were creepy but so random they were funny.

@ Fae... Whoa. They...said...Johnny...couldn't...act?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?! What the...!? Are they blind? Have they never seen a movie in their life?!?!?!? I mean, I can sort of understand why people say Orli and Keira can't act, but Johnny?! :swoon:

@ LoT... I don't understand the point of reviews, either. :annoyed2: Who is to say what's right and what's wrong? Is there any point being so judgemental?! What matters is how they make you feel. The emotional impact. That's what they're there for, after all!

i don't know any other languages :( but i really want to learn Italian. :-D at school one of the courses u take is spanish. but i'd rather learn italian or even elvish! :P

yeah they don't look at a movie for enjoyment, just to judge it based on things no one else cares about. i mean i understand if in a movie costumes are horrible, but when was the last movie you saw that had horrible costumes! i don't even pay attention to that! i just think how cool they are, not if the people didn't wear those clothes until 5 years later. i've seen reviews like that. sometimes they go way too far. that johnny comment was inexcusable.

Fae - well, most of them are. :eyeroll: sorry, but I'm kinda against those movies... they never really have a meaning or anything to them but a bunch of sexual content that I don't really want to watch...
but anyway yeah Johnny is AMAZING! :swoon: well, Keira and Orli might not be EXACTLY like Johnny but they also haven't been at it as long and they aren't... well, like Johnny. He's kind of a one-of-a-kind actor. :P Comparing Keira to Paris?! that's so stupid it's funny! How in the world could you even begin to compare those two? I don't care too much for Keira but she's no where near as bad as Ms. Hilton!
Oh, I love your new avvy too!

LoT - awww, I feel bad for your friend too. Whenever I read what the critics say I almost want to laugh... except half the time I'm too upset to.
Oh, I know! Spanish is so… what everyone else learns! Italian would be a pretty language to learn. :-D

^that's exactly it! You described my feelings exactly, Taur!

Taur - Oh, ok... I guess I was pretty close. :P Oh, French (so far) has been easy. I mean a lot of the words are like English words like the word for "snake", "baby", ect.... but that must just be me. :teehee: My mom thinks it's kind of confusing too. :P Oh, I think German is confusing although I haven't done too much with it... but I have heard it spoken... and it's fast and hard!
well, I thank you for sharing it! It certainly gave me a good laugh... yeah, I guess they were. :P but seeing Elizabeth then a bunch of Tellatubbies was weird.

 That's funny! All my good friends are learning Spanish except for one - he's learning German too and he has all these shirts and stuff in German that he has to translate for me. So it's kinda like your "language war" with your brother. :P (one shirt says something like "I'm unteachable")

 I totally agree with your last sentence, I'm good at seeing the bits of light in the darkness, so to speak. :D (If it makes you guys feel any better, that particular site doesn't really like any movies that I like except for maybe Spider-Man and LOTR.)

Yeah,I like my new avvy too,and my new sig! :-D

Actually, some of those films aren't bad,it's just that that one was terrible, but maybe it's better to stop, maybe little children are reading this and they are going to ask to their moms

''Mommy,what is a P***S?Whats a Kama Sutra?And what is a boobs?"

And people will think that you are sexual maniac(pardon my language)and a pervert and you will be fired from everyplace you are.

Spanish is easy, its similar to Italian(some words)I know some,I can translate my speech(hope this doesnt bored you¡

So there it is! Tada! :bounce:

Ohmygosh, that would be so much fun!!! I'd totally take Pirate-talk class. :P And Elvish, I really want to take an Elvish class...

Sounds good! Can't wait to see it!

I really wish I could've seen ROTK in theaters - Aragorn's speech would be so amazing to see/hear on the big screen! :swoon:

 Oh dear...I didn't even think about that! I guess even Jack has his moments. ;)

*shrugs* I dunno. Maybe they just thought it sounded dumb or something - I can't imagine how.

......

lol I think we've all decided on that! So right there that's 5 or 6 people who would take both classes... even though we wouldn't REALLY learn anything to help us in RL, but it would still be lots of fun! :P

thanks! I'm kinda nervous too....

well.... :erm: I saw RotK in the theater but I don't really remember it... so I guess that's no help! lol but I'm sure his speech was amazing! I know Elizabeth's speech was though! Even on YouTube it's amazing and stirring!

 yes, even our dear Jack has some moments. :P

it must be something like that.... *shrugs* oh, well... now we can start a "huzzah" revival! :teehee:

Thanks! I'm glad you agree... (well, but it does give good content warnings... and that's all I really look at. As far as the reviews at the bottom? I don't really read those... except I just HAD to read the one for AWE. :eyeroll:)

yeah.... I suppose so. For me I guess I like movies I know will be clean and I won't have to wade through a bunch of stuff I don't want to see, so I'd just rather avoid the rest all-together and spend my time watching Pride and Prejudice, Elizabethtown, Uptown Girls, or even Pirates of the Caribbean. ;) :P but that's just me....

when you think about it really almost all of the languages are connected. French and Spanish and English are a lot alike ect... I mean they all come mainly from Latin, right? Except Japanese and Chinese! but they're all similar...

Boring? not at all! That translation is cool! You did a good job, Fae! :-D (even if I don't know Spanish :teehee:)
