I apologize to our guests once again but Alatariel is unfortunately not our killer.










<i>The lights to the ballroom abruptly went out and there was sounds of glass clinking together and the lights flickered back on again.</i>

"Oh dear." Kit blinked again, looking around. On the other side of the room, she spotted Nie. Head first into the punch bowl. "Nie!" Kit gasped. But a more interesting sight to be seen was that <b>FRODOFAN</b> stood beside her, with the guiltiest expression she had ever witnessed.

"FRODOFAN?!" Kit exclaimed. "Could you----you're the killer?!"

The Clues
<b>Haldir o Lorien's, proclamation of seeing "something colorful". </b>
This was an indication to the moderator's rainbow stars---which is the most multi-colored thing in a person's post. So this decided that the killer definitely -had- to be a moderator. That is, if you caught on to the clue that early on.

<b>At Starbuck's and Mrs. Haldir's death scene, there were carrots.</b>
Carrots = vegetable = cultivation = Samwise Gamgee = Frodo Baggins = FRODOFAN

<b>At MontanaBohemian's death there were found many clues. Rope, Pulley, Scissors. A sign noting "beware".</b>
The Rope and Pulley were to hang Montana onto the chandelier, but the scissors were used to cut the beware sign.

<b>Elegost Eruaphadion died by TV commercials but the DVD collection was the clue.</b>
The <b>Lord of the Rings</b> Collection belonged to FRODOFAN and she was one of the few who had a LOTR theme in her signature, the other DVDs were red herrings.

<b>Smeagollum & Taurquende were both killed in the kitchen.</b>
Smeag died after finding the rubber chicken but Taur caught the scent of the "sea" on her attacker.
Sea-water = Pirates of the Caribbean = Jack Sparrow = FRODOFAN's signature "<b>Jack Sparrow Lives!!</b>

<b>Johnny's Fan died by a plant after following a trail of sand.</b>
Once again,
Sand = beach = Pirates of the Caribbean = <b>Jack Sparrow lives!</b>
But, more importantly. JF's time of death was 4:53 pm. FRODOFAN's PMing symbols are "<b>$%=#?&</b>". Excluding the =, without shift, the first three symbols would be translated to 453.

<b>Mrs. Haldir was found under the Dining Room Table</b>.
With baby carrots, I may add. But her Time of Death as listed is 6:07 pm. FRODOFAN joined this forum server at Jun 07, 2005. 6/07/05.

Ali blinked at FF, thoroughly amused. "Well done, dear! Well, I mean...We were all on very much the wrong track. Not that it's a good thing to go around killing people of course."

[xD Now it makes perfect sense. I thought of the relevance to the times they died, but I figured it was there for accuracy's sake. I never even began to think of the colorful stars.]

Nie shook her head groggily upon extricating herself from the punch bowl. Drawing a hand across her bleary eyes, she immediately knew what had happened.
The common populace was wrong, she acknowledged grimly. My life didn't pass before my eyes...all I could think about in those last few soggy minutes was potato pancakes and Reepicheep...
Suddenly she remembered! Throwing herself across the room and passing through several objects in the process, she stopped in the middle of the group of AUers (more precisely, in the middle of Ali, poor girl) and pointed at the guilt-stricken criminal. "It was HER! I saw her clearly! FRODOFAN has been picking us off, one by one. I can only guess at how far her nefarious plan would've gone if I hadn't seen her," she shouted, eyes narrowed.
None of the AUers seemed to be paying much attention. Nie looked around bemused. "Oh...well then...don't tell me..you already know?"
