Anira remounted her steed, also anxious to depart. She could sense something was not quite right, but could not quite place the feeling. Evil has worked its way among the company. she thought. Now if I could only decipher the spell, perhaps I will know its means.

The group rode one, plus a member. The night wore on, but it was not long until they came to another distraction. A woman held the girl from earlier and had a blade to her throat...
Vondell rode near the middle of the group, and did not trust the scene. Malachi, who rode at the front (if that's alright...) could take care of it. Vondell scanned the trees for anything out of place...

Meanwhile, Lorgoth came closer and closer with each step. He moved at a run through the forest, blue silver eyes shining and seeing every detail in the dark. Fresh blood dripped from his blade from a traveling mage he had questioned about the crystals. His life didn't last long enough for his beard to grey. A pity. But, that was the fun part of this mission. Getting to watch the life leave something. If the two know-nothing sorceresses distracted the goody-goodies, Lorgoth could easily get to the crystal first. It was just a matter of finding it...
((sorry if anyone was insulted with Lorgoth's part... most of that is his thought process... he's not one to love the living))
