Okay. SPOILERS FOR NON UKers (and people who watched the episode on youtube like me)
Alrighty folks. This whole time, as soon as I saw it was flashback-y, I totally called it. I wasn't worried about it, ever. Even though, it hurt my heart when Rose said "Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones sacrificed themselves." Like, I literally felt a pain in my chest for Ianto. I wasn't worried, but it still hurt.
Funny enough, that scene in general evoked more emotion from me than the Doctor's death (except for when they showed the flashback of the "fire and water" from The Runaway Bride). I really was never in the least bit worried about it. Actually, I was kind of like "lame, this is a filler."
Also, epiphany time. I was rewatching The Fires of Pompeii after that, and the soothsayer says to Donna, "there's something on your back." And I just went "ZOMG." Good call, soothsayer (also, he says "she is returning," but we knew what that meant immediately, so).
And dude, total Torchwood references for the win. I would say Sarah Jane references too, but I refuse to watch that show.
Also, is it weird for me to get a little bit of perverse enjoyment when I realized Martha had died in that reality. Like, I don't want her dead at all, there was just a moment where I was like "ha, she's dead. That's funny." And then I realized what a horrible person I am.
END SPOILERS.
Haha Smeag, the Impossible Planet just drove me insane in general. When they were like, "it's Satan," I sort of just went "are you kidding me?"

YES Smeag, AVERT YOUR EYES!
Since you're only in season 2 and we're nearing the end of season 4.
But YAY!!! Impossible Planet and Satan Pit episodes! FWEEEEEE!! I love those episodes SO much! I can't really explain why, but I do. YAY FOR OOD!!!!!!
...
REST OF POST SPOILERY FOR "TURN LEFT"
...
Tar, I'll have to rewatch "Fires Of Pompeii" to catch that soothsayer's remarks!! I mean the one about "her" was a give away...but WHOA! about the other one. XD
I really enjoyed all the flashbacks in this episode. ESPECIALLY the wet Emo!Doctor moment. That scene forever OWNS as probably one of the sexiest Doctor Who moments. XD AND I loved all the references to Torchwood and Sarah Jane Adventures (yes I've watched that show ). It was really heartbreaking to hear "the Torchwood team" and that it was Gwen and Ianto that died. But how random of Jack being transported or whatever to the Sontaran homeworld. SO like Jack. Interestingly, it was when Buckingham Palace was hit by the Titanic that I REALLY started to freak out. Just seeing that plume and hearing Donna's grandpa say, "God save us," it was like immediate and impulsive that I just started muttering under my breath, "God save the Queen" over and over and over.
Tar, I'm with you on feeling a wee bit of pleasure and no remorse for hearing of Martha's death. I kind of just laughed. ESPECIALLY since it was the SAME dude that talked to the reporters the first time. It was REALLY sad to see Sarah Jane's pictures all over the news and hearing that she had died.
OH! And how funny was it when it was AMERICA that was hit by the Adipose? DUDE. SOOO much more realistic than in Britian. But good lord, 60 MILLION???
And I knew that the Doctor wasn't dead. I mean HONESTLY. But still just that moment of his arm falling and the Sonic Screwdriver falling out of his hand was just a bit alarming...at the mere THOUGHT that it COULD have happened. You know? And while at that exact scene it wasn't altogether shocking, later on in the episode, when that family is like shipped off to the "labour camps," you suddenly realize, "HOLY *beep*! The world cannot survive without the Doctor!" So at THAT moment, I kept thinking the Doctor better not ever die or else we're all screwed. But how ... Shakespearian or Greek tragedy or just tragic in general was it that in THAT world, the Doctor died like right after he lost Rose. And I just LOOOOVE that it was pretty much Donna that saved the world in the normal universe. XD YAY for Donna in Runaway Bride!!!
What WAS heartbreaking was seeing the DYING TARDIS. Oh dear god, I was just painfully heartbroken to see it there. SO empty and on it's last legs so to speak. And it was all empty....and Rose stroked it! (*squee*)
Anyway, Donna OWNED this episode. Pretty much as usual.
DONNA'S GRANDPA FTW!!! He's probably THE coolest companion family member EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And sweetest! And I just want to take him home.
ARRRGH! I want next week NOW! Damn it! XD I mean, DUDE! Not just Jack is reappearing. But GWEN AND IANTO!!! *SQUEE* (I could do without Martha though...OH well ) AHHH!!! Craziest finale EVER!!!
- END SPOILERS -
EDIT:
OH! I forgot to mention just HOW MUCH I'm absolutely in love with this season's music. Particularly from "Turn Left." Me WANTS soundtrack. RAWR!! All that new Doctor-y theme and then the music from the scene with Donna ... in that ... "time machine!" THAT was cool music!

Well, now I've *Somewhat* calmed from last night's eppie I can give my thoughts on it.
[ SPOILERS FOR TURN LEFT ]
HOLY *beep*! having lived in the south-east of England myself makes that Episode even more terrifying. I'm right there with you though Tar about Ianto and Gwen. My heart actually broke.
And what also made me almost cry is when I heard that Sarah Jane had died. But not Just Sarah Jane, her teenage son Luke and his two best friends Maria(13) and Clyde (14) were also killed. (Yeh, I've watched a few episodes of SJA).
Also, I actually felt my chest rip in two and my stomach churn at the sound of the TARDIS at the end. That just did it for me. And Jack's line in the Next Time trail: "There's nothing I can do, I'm sorry; We're dead." coupled with the fact that he had Ianto and Gwen clinging onto him at the time made me Squee and Cry at the same time.

I'm getting freaked out! I didnt read any of the spoilers, but as I was skimming down to the bottom of the page I'm pretty sure I saw a sentance about Gwen And Ianto sacrificing themselves. I might die.
[quote"[ L o t h i r i e l ]"]THEY WON'T KILL MY IANTO!

I'LL KILL THEM IF THEY KILL MY IANTO!!!!!!!!!!!!![/quote]
Come on, Loth. If they kill Ianto, we I will be by your side.
Oh, and please don't tell me what has happened. I know I shouldn't be scared, but after Tosh and Owen....

Oh. SPOILERS
One thing I forgot to mention in my crazy rant earlier (it's really cool to actually be the first person to give most of my thoughts o the episode, I normally am one of the last people).
ROSE. Rose being so totally like the Doctor when she came back was completely AWESOME. I actually squeed when she walked by that UNIT chick and was like "Oh, I said don't salute." I was just like Everytime she said anything Doctorish, a huge smile just crossed my face.
And one final note; I have never agreed more than when Rose said "Great hair... some really great hair." I was just like "ZOMG YES!" The Doctor just isn't the Doctor without his amazing hair. The hair totally makes it for me.

AWW!! Naur! I ish sorry we are making you anxious. XD When you DO see it, you'll LOVE it. YES. You WILL.
YAYAYAYAYAYAY! Shadow SAW it!! *SQUEEEE*
...
--REST OF POST FULL OF SPOILERS ... SO AVERT YOUR EYES IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING--
...
SO, can you believe that after my HUGE long giant post that I actually FORGOT to mention some things???? Well, I rewatched the episode on Sunday just before I watched the Confidential, so I caught a lot more things and was reminded of some things that I forgot to mention. XD
First of all, Loth, I completely agree with what you had to say about Sarah Jane, Luke, Maria and Clyde. That was just heartwrenching. I mean, adults are one thing, but children??
And yeah, the sound of the TARDIS. I kind of lost it.
Which reminds me! In the Confidential, RTD was talking about all the explosions around the TARDIS when they sent Donna back, right? And they were showing all the SFX stuff and RTD, this man that I worship because he IS God, said that he had asked if he could BLOW UP the god damned TARDIS!!!! YES. BLOW UP. I kid you not. I literally gasped in horror at even the THOUGHT of such a terrible thing. But he said they didn't have enough money. So, what we see is what we got. But THEN he went on to say that that's all right because there are apparently bigger and more explosions...concerning the TARDIS. So now I'm like FREAKING out. No harm shall EVER come to the TARDIS. How could he even THINK that?? Screw the damn Doctor, I want the TARDIS kept very safe and sound.
Okay, enough of that. Where was I? XD
OH! Tar, I completely agree with you how much I love Rose EVEN more now! Because she's SOOO like...Doctor-fied. When she said, "Oh don't salute." I just went nuts. *SQUEEEEE* And THEN she STROKED the TARDIS! That is SUCH a Doctor thing! *SQUEE*
You also mentioned one of the quotes that I was going to.
"Tall, thin man. GREAT hair. Some REALLY great hair." THANK YOU RTD for that. Best line of the episode. XD Finally some recognition of David's lustrous Scottish locks!
Also, one of my favourite scenes was the one with Donna and Sylvia (Donna's mum) laying on their beds talking. "Who's going to listen to us? Refugees. We haven't even got a vote! We're just no one. We don't even exist." I have to say, one of the greatest and smartest lines in Doctor Who history. It was SO heartbreaking. And whether or not RTD was trying to make some sort of statement with it. I, personally took it as one. I mean, I don't want to spark anything here, but that line exactly describes the situation of the Palestinians. So it just broke my heart to hear that.
And what's with this whole bumblebees thing? I mean, speaking of current events, the bees aren't disappearing any more are they? Ohhh bumblebees.
But what I really wanted to talk about were the stars going out. Do you even UNDERSTAND just what that would TAKE to do??? I mean, first of all, each one would have to supernova (which takes forever to completely blow up). I mean, scientifically speaking stars dying and going out takes eons upon eons to do. So, that MAGNITUDE for them ALL to go out SO quickly all at once?? God damn, some big ass *beep* is goin' down, that's for sure. HA HA HA HA! So, that's a bit troubling. (Sorry, random year of astrology knowledge kicking into gear )
Uhhh...what else was I going to mention?
Oh, just a couple other quotes.
The first from that Captain at UNIT or whatever: "THIS is to combat dehydration." That was so completey random but AWESOME. OH my god, I pretty much just busted up laughing at that part.
Also, at the end when the Doctor finds Donna in that woman's shop: "Yes you are, you're brilliant." Just the WAY he said it, like he was talking to a wee little kid just killed me! It was almost insulting if it wasn't so cute and hysterical!
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! And did you guys know that the woman who played the fortune teller played Chan-Tho in "Utopia"????!! Yeah. I'm serious. During the whole episode, I was like, "God, she SOUNDS so familiar!" And it turns out we'd seen her in the previous season. OH! And apparently Catherine Tate can't drive. So, she had a double for her when she was driving that blue car. (YAY for random Confidential info )
Okay, WOW. I didn't mean to write THAT much. I curse this Club's thread for forcing me to.

SPOILERS
(in response to Boe)
Haha, I didn't know that Catherine couldn't drive. That's so funny. And totally random. Who can't drive, for goodness sakes?
And actually, I did know that was Chan-Tho, I recognized her from the second I saw her. I was like "ZOMG CHAN-THO!" Except I liked her better as Chan-Tho; for some reason I just felt like she overplayed her character in this episode.
Also, thank you for bringing up two other things that I forgot to mention (jeez, how many things can one person talk about).
One; the Doctor quote. "Yes you are, you're brilliant." I laughed so hard. I have never had a moment where I was like "Doctor, you're amazing" at the same time that I was like "Never ever do that again."
Also. The bumblebee thing. I find it hilarious how that is brought up quite a bit among all these other apocalyptic moments. Always. I can't think of the exact quotes of the top of my head, but they're mostly ridiculous.
Oh, final thing that I just thought of (sorry folks). Okay. The stars going out. I don't think that the stars are ACTUALLY going out, like blowing up and not existing anymore, I think rather that some sort of larger darkness is covering them, and just blocking the light. Because I can't even imagine how they could manage to put out all the stars at the same time, and let them be seen immediately. I mean, it take eight minutes for the light from the SUN to be registered on Earth, could you imagine the time it takes from other stars that are so much farther away?
Okay, I think that's everything. Haha.

YESSSSS!! Of course you can join us crazy nut fans!
Yay for getting addicted to Doctor Who!!!!!!! I must warn you, I don't know how far along you've gotten, but we're nearing the end of season 4, and there will be spoilers. Just so you know!
ANYWAY, I just wanted to say...I HAVE seen IT. And at this point my brain is still trying to wrap itself around what happened. So, I'll be back later when it's fully processed. Accepted? No. Processed...yeah.
SO, Loth...I'm right there with you.

 x a hundred million zillion
What an awesome episode. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time...and as for the little cliffhanger <---my face was like that....for 5 minutes.
I have many theories and what not. But I'll wait till everyone has seen it before talking about it.

I've been meaning to join this for a while now, kept getting distracted.
Hi! I'm Ammy, or Ali, whichever or whatever you come up with. I think my mom actually got me into Doctor Who because she's a nocturnal SciFi nut and I didn't really watch too much tv before she got me into a billion different shows. That was...I guess halfway through season 2, so I haven't missed much, and what I didn't see I watched online. My favorite companion is and always will be Rose, but I really really really like Donna. I'm kinda apathetic when it comes to Martha, but I don't like the character much. The actress is perfectly fine. I have seen previous Doctors, but Tennant is like THE Doctor for me.
That said, I watched THE episode last night. Really really late. And I almost immediately fell asleep so I'm almost convinced it was a dream. Or a nightmare. One of those.
Still processing.
I'll have more to say on it when everyone else gets to it, I promise.

I am in so much pain. I promised myself I would not read spoilers for Doctor Who. It is SO hard. Ow.....
I just watched "Forests of the Dead" and its TWO WEEKS until the next episode! Thats too long. I thought I could barely hold out looking at spoilers if the new episodes were a week away, but having a new episode in two weeks...My resolve just may crack.
SPOILERS FOR "FORESTS OF THE DEAD"

Grah! I hate episodes that tease you. That lady knew the Doctor's name and didn't bother to tell us what it was or her relation to the Doctor. And of course, the Doctor just had to say "The only way you would know my name is if...." and he trails off, leaving us poor shriveling souls at the edge of our seats screaming "Please, for god's sake, just tell us!" and then writhing on the ground, praying for a quick death to end the pain.
I want to know! I really do!
