especially on some channels the commercials can be horrible! But there is something to just knowing it's on tv that makes you feel like you have to watch it, no?

Sorry about the double post.
Wow, this thread has already got kicked down to the second page. 
Just read a rumor that said there was going to be a second trilogy of POTC movies. The only problem is that the rumors say this trilogy won't even have Barbossa in it, let alone Will and Elizabeth. Nope it will be solely about Jack, which does not appeal to me very much. Without all the characters the movies would lose something special.
Hmm, perhaps it is time to just let Pirates be, rather than running the movies into the ground. _________________ <center>

How could they?!? I mean, It's bad enough that Will and Elizabeth won't be in them, but I thought they were gonna do a series about the Fountain of Eternal youth or something like that...and Barbossa has to be there for that!

poor AWE thread. *huggles it close*
well, I seriously hope that's just a rumor... I could not imagine a whole second trilogy for the PotC movies like that... that would just be....  and all about Jack too?  it just gets better and better, doesn't it? *note the hint of sarcasm  * they're just gonna ruin the PotC movies if they keep on going this way... *clings to the original trilogy*
Padawan, I know! No Barby? That's just insane! What's a Pirates movie if it's just Jack?  no, Elizabeth, no Will, no Barbossa, no anyone cool... that's just changing what PotC is all about. 
hopefully Ted and Terry and the rest of the crew won't stand for Disney's stupidity!

Yep I agree. Without Barbossa I would be hard pressed to go and watch that trilogy. Although Jack's character is cool, him alone would get boring very quickly, but as PD said, I think T&T would be smarter than that.  _________________ <center>

Oh pfft. If T&T don't realise their disasterous mistake and actually go through with this proposed line of movies, I really doubt they'll do well in theaters.
If they want to continue doing Pirates things, why not just do like a made for Television series? It would be so much easier on the blood pressure levels of the fans...

Couldn't agree more sweet-contessa.
Well I think that if T&T have their way then these movies will have more than just Jack in them. However I can also see Disney kind of forcing out another Pirates movie for the money. Of course I doubt that T&T would participate in that big of a hack job, so Disney would have to get new writers all together, which would almost be worse than getting rid of Barbossa.  As long as T&T make the movies, they will at least be decent. Not as good as the original trilogy, but still alright.
Yeah that is almost what Pirates is going to turn into anyways Padawan. I actually think Disney was planning on doing an animated POTC television series, but mercifully called it off. _________________ <center>

I agree with CB. T&T and the rest of the crew probably wouldn't stand for some hack job of a Pirates movie, but Disney might push it hard enough and just get other writers.  But I think T&T know their fans and what we PotC fans want in our movies. They aren't going to dare to mess with some things.  lol (not to mention I don't think Johnny Depp would stand for having the movies he seems to love so much ruined like that... which would be basically what they would be doing. ) ahhh, I love Gore and Ted and Terry and all of them... I'm so happy they were so passionate dedicated to their movies. going to such lengths to make the Pirates movies some of the best there are out there as far as actors, script, locations, scenes and sets, and everything goes... times like this make me feel very loyal to every part of Pirates and very resentful to any stupidity Disney might come up with to try to invent something new to ruin all the hard work put into making the first three the best they could be.
haha, the infamous animated series! I bet the charries would've looked like they do in the comic-book versions of PotC stuff... a little odd. Especially Barbossa! and then the voices would've been all off and wrong... *shudders* but I'm sure even if they did air it it would've flopped. Only little kids would've liked it probably. and even then a lot of little kids might not have because even they might know PotC better than Disney thinks they do.

Yep PD. I still think that as stupid as Di$ney has been in the past, they are very smart when it comes to money. I think that they know what will bring in money, and getting rid of the writers would not be the way to accomplish those ends. The Johnny Depp point is a good one. I don't think he would star in a movie that was a hack job, and if Di$ney can't get him back in POTC then the movies would seriously bomb. And yeah everything about the trilogy makes me glad to be a POTC fan.
Oh, yes. The animated Barbossa action figure scares me to no end. I do agree with the both of you. That series would have been a huge disappointment. I am so glad that it was cancelled. _________________ <center>
