Ok, I went to Olive Garden last night with my mom, and I wanted to try a margarita there, to see if it tasted the same- it didn't. It was so much better, and I wasn't grimacing as I started drinking it. And I made it last all the way through dinner! And it had Sauza gold in it, so I know it wasn't grain alcohol.

^ I doubt it.

I feel like I'm breaking a rule, because I keep talking about alcohol.

I had chicken crispers and a Presidente margarita for lunch today at Chili's.

Do you really? lol! I think I know what you mean though!

Anyway, some of you asked what married life is like. It's very different in many ways. Much quieter than I'm used to life being---people seem to leave newlyweds alone comparatively!---but I suppose that'll change. Right now I'll stop typing because I've got a sinus headache that's hurting my right eye, but I'll tell y'all about life later then.

Yeah, I think it was me asking you in your wedding thread. More and more of my girl friends are married now so I could go ask them too. For many of them life hasn't changed all that much but I perhaps it's different in the US - or for you!
Actually, I'm going to a wedding in a few weeks - it'll be in a castle, or more accurately on a huge mansion and the theme is Princess. I'm really excited about it since it's supposed to be really fancy! I don't imagine their lives will change much though. :-)

Anyway, to stay on the wedding theme. Have you all been to some interesting weddings? How do you imagine your own wedding? And what are the wedding traditions and customs where you live?

It seems like half the people I know are getting married this summer! Two girls from church that are about a year older than me got married in May/June... one of my cousins (2nd cousin I think) is getting married Aug. 9, and my first cousin is getting married in Amsterdam on Aug. 22. We're going to that one... lol we're flying from Austin (TX)(where we live) to Houston, and then switching to another plane and winging it to Amsterdam. 10.5 hour flight... guh. LOL.

Ooh! That sounds exciting Earyende! I'm very jealous! A lot of people I know are getting married/ engaged as well. I have to admit, it's sort of strange because I went to grade school/high school with many of them and now they are going off and having families and stuff.

I have gone to quite a few interesting weddings, the last one I attended was a Quaker wedding, we had to sit in a circle for an hour and a half and be at peace with ourselves. The worst part was my stomach kept grumbling which caused quite a few people to stare at me, it was quite embarrassing. It was interesting to say the least.

Oh, I know- one girl I graduated with actually had a baby girl when we graduated... I hadn't even known she was pregnant. Also, two people that were also in my class got married within a couple of years after we graduated... I was looking on facebook and the girl (who I was friends with on there) was listed as having the last name of the guy, who I know but wasn't friends with on facebook... I was like, what? And they have a kid now too. It's bizarre. I'm just 21... it seems so young to get married, even more so to have kids.

Oh wow, Eäryendë, Amsterdam is a long way to go to the wedding!! I hope it'll be fun! Is he/she marrying a Dutch?

Aww poor you Sida, must've been disturbing, a noisy stomache... How was the rest of the Quaker wedding? I'm not sure I know exactly what a Quaker is... :-)

Yeah, the guy she's marrying is from Holland. She met him in Sweden while she was attending a Bible college there, and then she decided to live in Amsterdam as an au pair to be closer to him. I don't know how long it'll be until I see her again after the wedding, so I'm going.

Welcome to the club, lady_E. :-)

Where are the members of the club?
Ohh soon it's wedding time. I'm going to my friend's wedding on Friday. I'm excited and I really hope they won't get rain.

How fun! Is it an outdoor wedding? Those are beautiful if the weather complies.

And welcome Lady_E! :D

Actually, I picture it like an American wedding, you know like in Sweet Home Alabama, garden party and everything. Usually, the weather here is way too unpredictable to schedule anything important to be outside!! :P But like I said in a previous post it is being held in a huge mansion/castle thingy, preferably in the gardens but I doubt it now after having had a glance at the weather forecast. We'll be indoor in case of rain but I'm still crossing my fingers for bright sunshine. The guests will have a tour of the castle and the gardens while the happy couple will have their pictures taken. I'm excited.. and slightly nervous! :-)
