Here's a poem I wrote for creative writing class. We had to open a book, or a page of an artical, and write down 35 words that we found on the page (no pronouns) and then put them inot a poem. Here's the finished project.

The girl walks fiercely down the streets, a lion,
glaring through the cold night at the insignificant city.
She’s a child, meek and agreeable during the day,
when everybody knows her name and face,
but she rejoins with her true being in the darkness.
Her friends are the stars, her favorite guardian, the moon.
Others don’t need to know of her hunger to come out,
to live in the moment not as the false girl they know,
and not as something new,
but as someone she has always been.
Her warm, dry bed room is nothing compared to this open domain.
The girl stood, fingering the bridge of her nose,
plucking at her oversized clothes,
sighing.
Night will soon end; the pale fingers of dawn take over.
The girl sneaks back into her room, her cage,
to become in the sun what she is not.

She has put on a mask for her friends—tamed, even caged herself so that she can fit what her daytime world expects she should be. What tragedy! For she is unique and there is not another like her.

What would happen if she showed her true colors? What if she roared fiercely in the sun and exposed herself as the dark lion she really is?

No one should wear a mask. No one should bear a cage. Break out of that false world and leave that double life behind! Become at all times what is real—the one destiny conceived, however shocking and unacceptable that may be.

(I think your project turned out brilliant and speaks to life!)

Wow, Sinbearer. That was very eloquent. Thank you, I did have a lot of fun writing it and its one of my favorite poems that I've created.
