The goal of this contest is to re-write a part of LotR from a new character's perspective.
Examples: write the prologue from Sauron's POV; the meeting of Frodo, Sam, and Faramir from Faramir's POV; Eowyn liking Aragorn from Eomer's POV....you get the idea.
Guidelines
-it must be from ONE character's point of view
-it can be serious, funny, wacky, whatever
-minimum of 100 words, maximum 700 words
-only one entry per person
-DUE DATE: JUNE 30
Voting will be anonymous - PM your entry to me

My question is: does it have to closely follow LOTR? I mean, could there be references to Elven hair conditioner and things like that, as long as the main narrative is based around an event in the films?

For some reason I have a feeling Legolas may be involved in your writing, JF.
I've got a question about POV. I get the part about it being from a new characters POV, but I was wondering if there was some rule about whether it is written in 1st or 3rd person singular (he/she) POV. Just being nitpicky.

@JF: I believe that would fall under silly, so yes, you could do it. No magic carpets or strip malls though.
@Lar: As long as you make it clear whose POV it is, it doesn't matter 1st/3rd.
