This site is dedicated to J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece classic, The Lord of the Rings. Browse through all the sections here to find everything from over 15,000 photos from the movies and of the cast, to some very funny stuff in the humor section, to assorted multimedia in the media section. To the right of your screen is a tag-board, which you can post messages on (I post messages as Arwen the webmaster). FAQs + Affiliates + Contact update
This is a very boring but kind of necessary update. The FAQs have been rewritten/added to, the affiliates have been sorted through (all sites not updated since 2006 or earlier have been removed), and the contact page has new info. All these pages can always be accessed through the site section. The most exciting part of this update is that you can entertain yourself collapsing and expanding the answers in the FAQs section. That is, if you have nothing pressing to do.

New games!
Here are a couple new things to keep you entertained: LotR Box-in and LotR Concentration. Both are relatively simple, both are entertaining, and Box-in is particularly addictive. If you have time to waste, this is your update! Both can be accessed through the Miscellaneous page (also accessible through that page is LotR Ping-pong, which has been slightly redone with new graphics).

Long-awaited banner update
Sometime after January, I apparently forgot that banner claim #13 was in progress, and completely neglected to update the claim list/post the new banners until now. Very stupid of me, and it has been remedied. So, we have (and hopefully I'll remember the exact figures here) 26 new LotR banners and 59 new non-LotR banners. If you claimed one that I missed, please comment and let me know. And please feel free to snatch up one of the remaining banners, even if you've already claimed one: there are plenty left!

Links section renovation
And so the Links section is the next to fall victim to my evil plan to clean out A-U. To my great sadness, I'm guessing a staggering 95% of the links A-U used to list either no longer work or haven't been updated in years. The section was cluttered and unorganized, full of inactive links, and ready to be redone. And so it has been.

New wallpapers + section makeover
So, one of the A-U goals for the summer is to have all the messy old sections cleaned out. One of the first victims of this plan is the wallpaper section. The navigation has been redone, and there are no longer 800x600 wallpapers (although there are instructions for using the backgrounds if you're using an irregular screen size). The fun part? Nine new/completely-redone 1024x768 wallpapers...and a completely new 1280x800 laptop backgrounds section with 13 brand new wallpapers. Enjoy!

A-U RSS feed
With A-U updates being a little sporadic and all, maybe you want a way to stay on top of the new stuff without having to check the main site every day. The solution? An RSS feed! You can subscribe to it here (your web browser should give you instructions for subscribing)...or you can always click the nifty little orange button saying "RSS" under the updates.

High-rez photo sections - finished!
A mere six or so months after the high-rez photo section was started, the whole thing's finally finished! There are approximately 200 high-rez photos from all three movies for A-Uers to browse. Check out the FotR photos, the ones from TTT, or the RotK images. Go ahead and make some wallpapers if you're a graphic designer, or print some pictures out and frame them - they're that high quality!
