As everyone can see, Arwen-Undomiel.com has a new layout! In celebration of the forthcoming Hobbit films, our layout has a very Hobbity feel to it, and we hope you all like the new look. It was the first collaborative layout made for A-U, and a lot of people spent a huge amount of time getting it to look as pefect as possible so let us know what you think!

Also the fan art section has been given a makeover, and new art has been added. There will be more artwork to come over the next few days, and also information on how you can submit your art to have it showcased on A-U.
Empire Magazine of the UK issued a sneak peak this past week of their August 2011 issue which will feature "a lengthy and exclusive report" from The Hobbit set. Peter Jackson is quoted in the article as saying:

"I’m exactly the same filmmaker as I was ten years ago . . . I’m trying to nail the same thing that I did before. I’m just telling the story."

The sneak peak photos can be viewed at the Empire website and the new pics can be viewed in our gallery. The magazine itself can now be purchased in stores or can be ordered online. We can be assured that there will be many more "first looks" as filming progresses.
Peter Jackson has just announced new casting details on his facebook page as well as confirming the casting of Luke Evans and Benedict Cumberbatch. In his post today, he wrote:

"Evangeline Lilly will be playing a new character - the Woodland Elf, Tauriel. Her name means "daughter of Mirkwood" and, beyond that, we must leave you guessing! (No, there is no romantic connection to Legolas). What is not a secret is how talented and compelling an actress Evangeline is; we are thrilled and excited she will be the one to bring our first true Sylvan Elf to life".

He also announced that Barry Humphries would be portraying the Goblin King in the same way that Andy Serkis depicted Gollum.
