Would there be any interest in an Arabian Nights type of RP? Desert, mythology, genies and such? I've got a half-formed idea, and wondered if anyone else would be up to it.

I am sure that used to be a great game once. But is it still available? I do really doubt. Maybe you need to search for something else elsewhere?

Is it a game for grown ups or for kids? I had been looking desperately for good games for my kids and nothing had been found till the moment I met fnf two players thanks to my dearest friend Ted. Fortunately, both my boys can play together and have so much fun with the game! Probably you could try to do the same, my dearest friend.
